Disneyland Divas: Working out, getting healthy and thin in 2010!!

Whew! Got back late Friday night from a week-long chaperone of my DD14's Heritage Tour; I had a group consisting of BOYS... what an experience!!:eek:

The food offered was BAAADDD... not bad tasting, just horrifically calorie- and fat-laden! I tried to be as careful as possible, and we walked around a lot, through VA, NJ, PA, NY and DC. I was afraid to weigh myself when I got back, but finally stepped on the scale Sunday afternoon... and had lost 2 pounds :D I'm down 35 lbs so far, to 208, and only 9 more pounds 'til I meet my birthday goal, with a month to go! :woohoo:

I was able to work out yesterday for the first time since we had left on the trip. It was not as easy as it had been before I left, so I'm going to have to work my way back up to the level I was before. But that's okay; as long as I'm not GAINING weight. :thumbsup2

While we were gone my mom had some problems and is back in the hospital. She is now in "acute rehab" and is working on strengthening up to be able to accept the liver donation. I've been in contact with the transplant team in Boston to beg them to give me a look-over to see if I'm able to donate sooner than my BMI will indicate, as my BMI is exceedingly misleading. My bloodwork was stellar when it was last taken; both my doctor and my mom's doctor don't see any reason why I couldn't donate now. Hopefully they'll see reason...

I did pretty well yesterday. I had one piece of See's candy but other than that I stayed with everything I had logged. Went to my running class and we did 40 minutes. Granted we "run" slower than I used to walk:rotfl: I am trying to go slow because I usually do too much and hurt myself.

My aunt is going to get results of a biopsy today. They found a mass in her lungs. Please keep her in your prayers.

I was quite nervous heading into weigh in tonight but it was all good, I lost 5.8 pounds this week. :woohoo:

I'm stuck. And I know I haven't been doing a whole lot to help myself get unstuck. And I know that starting Wednesday, I won't do good for about 6 days!!! But after that, WATCH OUT!!! I do have a goal to lose 30 pounds by the time we go on our trip to WDW in July, so I know I need to lose about 5 pounds a month, which sounds pretty easy!! We'll see.

Just walk and walk and walk in Disneyland and you'll be fine! Here's to getting unstuck! :thumbsup2

So I have weigh in tomorrow after work. I am hoping for 3.4 gone to be at the goal I set for myself for the trip. It would put me at 85 gone and under 200 lbs! I don't know if I have quite made it though...I only worked out 3 times this week and a couple of those times weren't as intense as they could have been. So we will see!

I worked out today for the first time in over a week. Not fun. I walked a ton at Disneyland, but also ate very poorly. Time to get back into the swing of things.

Also went to the career counselor again in Zurich today. I'm in the assessment phase trying to work through all my skills and such, which will supposedly help me to refine my resume. Good just to clean up and go into the city so I can feel a tad professional now and agin.

Continuing to work on my German two hours a day.

Nico's birthday is tomorrow. He'll be five! Wow, my baby is getting big!

Today has been good eating all the way.

Funny story, I really didn't want to go to the gym tonight because I'm trying get ahead in my classes so this weekend won't affect me in school.

Well, I walked into math class today (my last class of the day) and there was an exam :scared1: The last time I was in class was with a sub on Feb. 9th. Now that's due to holidays, furlough and our prof canceling class.


Anywho, thankfully I knew the material :banana: and I was out of class early, before 4pm and the class usually runs to 4:50pm.

I normally go to the gym immediately afterward and by 5:10pm have met up with Nicole, my gym buddy. So since I had time to kill I came back to my apt and rested. She emailed me, telling me she was going to be late from work and how the traffic was horrible and she might even cancel. So I told her to text me when she knew her plans. If she canceled then I was definitely not going to the gym.

She calls me around 5:40 to let me know she'll be at the gym in 20 minutes. I change and walk to the gym. She's in front of the building and tells me that they finally removed her from their books (she graduated from CSUF last June) so she can't get in.

We were both :headache: and :rotfl:because neither of us really wanted to be there but went for the sake of the other. Lol! So she left and I decided to do something so i went on the bike for 25 minutes but I couldn't continue because I was so hungry and my heart was just not into it.

Oi what a day! :faint:
I can't wait until Thursday!
Oh and I'm thinking of ditching school after my business writing class now because I can get caught up in math easily because of contacts in the class and I have the textbook.

I'm still going in the right direction, so no complaints here, but heading to Vegas tomorrow and I am worried a little bit about managing the food choices while I am there. I will do the best I can, and call it good.

Before you eat, drink 1 -2 glasses of water. That should help curb your hunger at those buffets!

So I just checked and after my trip to DL in September with my family I gained about a lb and that was with being REALLY careful with my food intake. I split meals with my son, ordered fruit for some meals, only had a bite of the icecream, shared the churro, etc...I think I am in Mucho Big trouble this time. How much weight is it POSSIBLE to gain in 6 days?

I think you'll be ok if she you drink your water and even though you won't be completely on program, if you stick to filing foods and limit your indulgences. Plus when you get back home and into your routine you'll no doubt lose what you gain, if you even do gain.

I bet you'll be walking more and more briskly without your family. You'll be fine. Enjoy your trip, be careful when you can, and hop right back on the horse when you get home!





So I weighed myself this morning, and I am at a 19-pound loss. My normal weigh-in day is Friday, but I will do it tomorrow. Wish me luck that I have lost 1 more pound today. I'd love to be at 20 when I leave for out trip!

Sarah, you're an inspiration. I am also concerned about not gaining while at DL. I normally do not eat pizza anymore (which is not to say that I don't love it). I did request from Katie that the dressing for the salad be put on the side this time, so we can dress our own. If anyone is still reading this before the trip, help remind the M and G committee so no one puts it on.

One good thing is that we do a lot of walking at DL... especially the hike to get there. Hi, Tracey.

I've been too busy to make it to the gym the last couple of days. Is there a scale anywhere at Hojo's?

I did 60 minutes cardio today. Then came home and ate some chocolate. :(

So DL Divas...welcome back!! I'm sure that you all maintained or walked due to all that walking. I have been VERY good with my calorie count these past couple of days. Nothing like a tummy bug to cleanse the system. Hasnt been good fir exercise though. Am hoping to be back in commission tomorrow.

There's no question that I gained this week since I spent 4 days in Disneyland and didn't bother to track what I ate or eat healthfully either. The question is how MUCH did I gain?

I'm pretty worried about it. I have weigh in tomorrow.

I did manage to drink 64oz of water or more every day and of course I did get exercise because we were in the parks every day.

I can also tell that my body has changed because the DL food made me feel horrible. I can't wait to get back on program and continue with my exercise schedule.

I'm so beat that I think I'm going to watch a show on Netflix before going to bed. These past few days we've been going to bed late and getting up at 5:30 - 6am! :eek:

Well I gained 4 pounds in 4 days....but I worked really hard at it! :rotfl: And we have been scarfing down the candy - I didn't get too much (waaay less that I brought) and it is almost gone.
 
I'm up 4.4lbs since last week. I'm sure I lose that and then some by my next weigh in on Monday.

Wendy - I totally agree with you. I'm happy to be at my apt with my healthy snacks and foods. TMI* All that junk food made me really gassy :laughing: so I'm ready to get back to work!
