Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

My BL thread just posted this weeks results and I am in the top ten again.
Sarah

:yay:

So I went to the gym last night and surprised myself by doing 33 min on the precor and 27 minutes on the treadmill, though I didn't go quite as fast as normal on the treadmill. I feel good that I got over my fear of working out on that particular day and just went for it. I am going in again tonight.

Sarah

:cheer2: VERY nice!! Good work.
I saw the doctor and my trainer yesterday and am doing so much better. I was able to do a workout, again, it was really adjusted so that I would not use my back. And of course I didn't do legwork. But my trainer was happy because I was down!

Today I got myself to the gym and did 35 min on the elliptical. This time I went back to level 2 and did it almost at my usual speed after a really slow warmup.

I love hearing about everyone's workouts. It is so envigorating.

WHERE IS EVERYONE? Just coz Jen's gone, doesn't mean you get to slide. :lmao: Check in.

Great to hear everyone is doing so well!

Donna - Great to hear that you back is so much better!

As for me I've caught a cold...ugh! I was going to try to go run anyway but I got out there and it was a no go...I am too stuffed up and coughing to run. Maybe tomorrow.

I'm here!! It's been a rough week with the stomach flu making the rounds in our house.
Thankfully it's a 24 hour thing. I had it Monday, and today was the first day I really felt up to eating again. Problem was, I was soooo hungry from not eating, that I over ate all the wrong foods and now I feel ill again. Bleh.

So who knows what numbers I will see on Friday. But I am here to cheer everyone on!!! Keep it up ladies. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi all!!

You are all doing so awesome!!! What an amazing bunch of ladies you are!

As for me....the second round of antibiotics seems to be working. And I'm almost done with the steroid dose pack. I may even try to get back on the treadmill tomorrow....here's hoping!

And I won't check in my official weigh in till Friday, but I had to sneak a peek today and at this moment....I can change my banner!! Wooohoo! We'll see if I can hold on to it till Friday.

Gonna hit the hay. This week has been crazy and I have an early morning meeting tomorrow (and a late dinner one as well...darn!!!) Night all!

Hi everyone!
My parents contracted Tyrae, my sister's BF and a former 24 HR Fitness Trainer, to train me for one month. Tonight we had our first session and now my arms and legs are completely useless. I'm already so sore that I'm walking like a little old lady  and no doubt will be the same tomorrow and Friday. We meet again on Saturday...and he's going to make me run!:scared1:
Tonight I did lunges ( 3 sets of 12), crunches with a weighted ball, arm rotations with weights, push ups (3 sets of 15), toe touch (3 sets of 12), and planks. OH LORD :scared: it was SO hard. I was sweating so much and my face looked as red as tomato.

He also requires me to take a numerous amount of vitamins. Super B Complex, Flaxseed Oil, Niacin, Fish oil, Triple Flex (glucosamine for my joints), and D-2000 (for bone health). And those aren't even all of them!

I have eaten healthy today, too. He requires me to keep a food journal and to have it signed off. Today I had around 1500 calories and about 100 grams of protein. I really should be having at least 120g-150g of protein daily so I need to find a way to increase it tomorrow.

That's all. It's very late and I DEFINITELY need my sleep.

Hello Ladies,
So while I am very computer literate I somehow found this site difficult to navigate through lol. So my name is Diana and I am Disney-inspired's older sister. I have been drawn to this site and group because my sister is always on and seems like you ladies know how to have fun. I also am trying to get fit and believe that you ladies would be a great support system.:cheer2: I am hoping to lose weight this summer as I also am moving away from home. Well Crista I hope they like me. OH, p.s this is my first year being an AP holder and I am stoked!:yay:

Welcome! It's so great to have you here :) I'm an AP holder too now, as I'm moving to California in 3 weeks from Indiana. You're in the right place if you want great support from the most wonderful group of ladies!

That is so great Cristabel! I know it will be hard the first bit, but I am sure you will see such great results and feel so much better by the end of the month! Put your all in and know we are all behind you!

Welcome Diana! Great to have you with us! So what is your plan? How are you going to get the pounds off this summer? We are here to support you and have fun! We can do this!

As for me, I went to the gym again last night and did the 33 minutes on the precor and 27 minutes on the treadmill which I did at a little bit faster pace than I had done yesterday. I will be going again on Friday so tonight is for cleaning my house and maybe puttering around outside. I have some yard work I really need to focus on! My DD had a fever last night but it was gone this morning so she went to daycare and I went to work...bummer. :upsidedow

Have a great day

Sarah

You'll be alright, they don't bite...much. ;)

You know, I was just thinking. I have lost just under 16 lbs in the past 4 weeks and I already fit into my clothes better and have more energy. There are 3 more months until my trip to DL with my family and if I can keep this up I should be feeling really good by the trip. I am looking forward to having an easier time getting into rides and fitting into seats in the theaters for Aladin and such. We can do this ladies! We just have to keep chipping away at it and if doesn't come off as quickly as we think it should, well, we just have to keep working and not let it bother us. Even if the number isn't going down as much as we want, we are doing possitive things for ourselves, for our bodies. We are making an investment in ourselves! Go us!:cool1:

When you're sick is so much harder to be good. You're such a winner, Beth, with a great history, so don't be hard on yourself. Give your tummy a break. (btw, the usual healthy foods like salads are bad after most flus etc. - go for soft cooked veggies).

And it's nice just to see you here!

Vicki, take care of your body!

That is terrific about the trainer. I like everything he's having you do. The only thing that you both need to watch out for is overdoing the exercise at the very beginning. Just don't get injured, listen to your body and let him know what's going on. But this plan is going to serve you very very well.

Great post, Sarah. I woke up to my lowest weight in years. I'm not even sure what did it except that I am back to working out. And I did have a good amount of protein yesterday. I am encouraged - will be seeing old friends this weekend.

My trainer said when I look at the dessert menu think, "do I want to taste something fabulous or do I want to BE fabulous?" ;)

Congrats on the lowest weight and I love the quote...I'll have to remember that one!

That's great, Sarah!!!

I'm checking in very early as I'll be at Dl all day.

I'm down to my lowest weight in years. I did 35 min on the elliptical today, at level 2, high speed. What I didn't do well was I ended up running on empty. All I had was a protein bar for some 6 hours so I ate most of my healthy calories at one meal, at night.

Have a great Friday!!! Do what feels good. (and if your body is getting used to exercise, it will feel good afterwards).

Happy Friday ladies!!!

WOW! I am so impressed with all of you! Everyone is doing wonderful and I love it. Way to go. :cool1:  :woohoo: :yay:

And we even have a new member. Welcome Diana!! So happy to see you here. :)

As for my weigh in today, I am the same as last week. Didn't lose, but didn't gain so I guess that's good. I think I am confusing my body when I was sick and didn't eat for two days, then got better and did nothing but eat for two days. It doesn't know what to do anymore!! lol
Next week will be better.

Have a great and healthy weekend ladies!

Good attitude Beth!

I had a loss this week. It wasn't as much as I was hoping for, especially with my increase in exersize, but it was still a decent loss so I will just keep plugging away and know that it will come off eventually and that in the meantime I am doing something possitive and healthy for me!

Have a great op week everyone. Lets start it off right but getting some water in us!

Cheers,
Sarah

Thank you so much ladies for being so welcoming. I am hoping and planning on losing 25 pounds which I have done before. My weakness is being bored and therefore I eat. I used to be very fit and am planning on going about the same way as I did before. Meaning doing cardio for 4 days (1 hour) and 2-3 days strength training. I've gotten off to slow start but having this encouraging board and knowing my sister is working hard will keep me on track. I also of course have changed my diet. Instead of eating whatever I want and whenever I want to spending some time in the morning and planning out what I am going to eat and what would be best. I want to feel really good for my Dland trips to come and enjoy Dland food lol.

Almost 16 lbs in 4 weeks? INCREDIBLE!!! Great job! :thumbsup2

Hope you're feeling better.
Congrats on maintanence!

I'm back from Plano, Texas. I had hoped to get back by Friday to attend my kindergarteners "Step Up" or graduation, but unfortunately, was not able to get any early flights due to storms. I was very sad, but my DS seems to have been just fine without me. Oh well...small sacrifice for benefit of being able to work from home almost every day.

Not sure how my week went. Good news is that I DID exercise every morning. I was pretty much toast every morning with time change, so I dragged myself to the fitness room and did 25 minutes of cardio (some days elliptical, some days treadmill) and felt SO MUCH better afterwards. I'm happy about that. I did indulge on nice work dinners, chocolate, etc. I'll wait a few days to access the damage.

I'm glad to be home. Lots of cleaning and catching up to do now.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Jen, welcome back!!! Sorry you didn't make it back in time for the ceremony. I'm glad your DS seemed ok though. I think those things are harder on the parents (mommy guilt and all) then the kids sometimes!

Sarah, awesome attitude!! We ARE doing the right thing for ourselves no matter how long it takes. Slow and steady wins the race!!

Diana, I eat when I am bored too. And at certain times out of habit. Growing up, we always munched when watching tv, so now when I'm watching something, a movie or whatever, I want to be eating.

Have a healthy weekend ladies!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi all!! Another stressful week for me at work. But thank goodness for weekends!!

I finally had a good week on the scale and stopped the 1 lb at a time crawl. Of course, the stress probably did it so I may see it go back this week.

But...my weigh in yesterday was 180.5.....-4 from last week. 63 lbs gone since I started!! Wooohooo!! It seems like just yesterday I was hoping for a below 200 weigh in so I am so amazed to be nearing the 170's!!

Really need to get back to exercise though. Worried about that. Second course of antibiotics really seemed to help but I am still getting short of breath with just regular activity (like today when I went to get groceries). I did get an inhaler last week...haven't used it yet. Keep saying I am going to just try the treadmill and keep it handy. But I have been scared. Just need to get my butt on there and see what happens.

Looks like everyone is right on track...oh and welcome Diana!!

Cristabel...good for you for working with the trainer. I hear you about the pain. But you know the old..."no pain no gain"..lol.

Donna...lowest weight in years! Awesome!! Glad you are feeling better too!

Jen...welcome back. Sorry you missed your son's ceremony. Maybe check to see if one of the other parents videotaped it?? Sam had his last week too. It was funny. They asked each of them what they wanted to be when they grow up....kids were answering "baby doctor" "lawyer" "basketball player"....so they get to Sam and he proudly says "I want to be a robot!!!". Too funny. At least he didn't say he wanted to work at DL.

Sarah...you are my new hero!! 16 lbs in a month is incredible!!!! Keep it up and you will be amazed how quick things go and how quick you change. And most importantly, how good you feel. That is the most important reason (for me at least) in doing this. I want to be able to run with my kids and do whatever they want to without feeling like I am going to die!! I danced all through my childhood...several hours a day usually 5 or more days a week. And now I am thinking of starting Emma and I would love to be able to teach her things or just practice with her...things I haven't been able to do in years.

Beth...so glad you got back in the groove. Don't even worry about maintaining. We all know how easy it is to gain (and how fast it happens!!) so to me...maintaining is a good thing!! Just keep going! You drop weight like crazy some weeks so it will all be good. Miss you!!! Looking forward to our lunch!

Vicki....hope your health is back and you have been hitting the streets again! I keep waiting for you to say you decided to sign up for the 5k in DL!!!

Who am I missing????

But...my weigh in yesterday was 180.5.....-4 from last week. 63 lbs gone since I started!! Wooohooo!! It seems like just yesterday I was hoping for a below 200 weigh in so I am so amazed to be nearing the 170's!!

CONGRATULATIONS AMY!!! :worship::worship::worship:
YOU ROCK!!!:woohoo::woohoo:
YEAH!!!:yay::yay:

As for the treadmill....I want you to get on it...TODAY.
And no, do NOT start your 5k program. Do NOT run.
Just start getting in the routine of exercise again. Shoot for 3 to 5 minutes of EASY walking. Don't push it. Just go from where you are and start getting your body used to moving again. You can gradually walk a little bit more and more, taking it easy, and after a week or two, then start that 5k program. Today, just reintroduce yourself to your friend the treadmill.

So I finally did a long run. Not too long, but 50 minutes about 4.5 or 5 miles. Felt good to get out there and be able to run more than 30 minutes.

Have a great Sunday ladies!
