Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Thanks Vicki! I'm still going to work out this morning but I woke up with a splitting headache so I need to take something for that then I'll go through the ropes like taking my inhaler and stuff. I'm ready!

So on the BL thread the weight keeper accidently did all of it by pounds instead of percentages so she came out with a completely new Top 10 and I am on it! Woo Hoo! Now if I can be there again this next week I will consider it "on a roll" :rotfl:

Had watermelon for breakfast today as I feel like I am retaining a bit of water from the sodium laden lunch I had yesterday. I brought the second have a turkey sub sandwich for lunch today. I need to drink more water though. How about all you? Are you drinking your water? Come on now, everyone grab a glass of water and "bottoms up"!

Have a great op day!

Sarah

Hey everyone...where are you all? I did a 5K last night - walking. I have one blister but apart from that I feel pretty good. We walked fairly quickly and built up a sweat...in part from the heat (it was in the mid 80's) and part from the walk. I feel very accomplished this morning but also in awe of people who actually run those things! Not to mention half and full marathons! You who do such things are amazing!:worship:

Hope everyone is having a great day. I had a loss at my meeting again this week so I am very pleased with that! Hope everyone is having an op day and for heavens sake check in!

Sarah

Helllllllooooooo??? Anybody out there?????

So I ate all the food I had brought with me to work today by 11:45am. And, my dh is cooking dinner tonight and he said it won't be ready until at least 845pm. I may be using some flex points tonight. I know I will need to eat something when I get home! I think we have some fresh spinach at home so I could make a salad and I think there may be a grapefruit in the fridge so if I had those two things I should be set till dh makes the yummy dinner he has planned. He is going to season up some chicken and cook that as well as some fiest rice and we are going to wrap that as well as some black beans and salsa in a tortilla. I may throw some ff sour cream in there as well and we have a bit of avacado left from a different meal so if it still good I may put that in as well. YUMMMMMYYYY! I am not hungry yet, but I worry about 330pm. Hope everyone is having a good day.....wherever you are!

Sarah

Hi! I'm still here.

I'm starting to feel a lot better, back to human. However, I have decided that I will not do the 1/2 marathon. I just haven't had a good workout in more than two weeks and made the decision not to push it. Re. the question if I was checked for swine flu...no, I wasn't. The doctor didn't bring it up and neither did I. Didn't have any reason to think it should be a concern.

I'm focused on getting all better and getting through the next couple of weeks. I have to go to Plano next week for business and the kids have their last week of school. I don't have a workout plan at the moment, since I had a plan only through the beginning of June. But worry not, I will get one. Just am going to muddle along for the next week or so and then will meet up with the personal trainer after I'm back from my business trip.

Not sure how the weight is going. I haven't been tracking so well and haven't been that focused. Let's say, I've been cutting myself a lot of slack.

Hope that rest of you are doing well!!:wizard::wizard:

On a positive note...I went clothes shopping today and tried on several pairs of pants...all in size 8. So I'm officially down a size. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! I haven't exercised much (only 1 day this week so far) but my eating had been in check and those Lean Cuisine meals and 40 calorie fudgecicles are so helpful when you're on the run!

Hi Sarah, Bridgette and Jen,

I am also cutting myself some slack with my sprained ligaments. I wasn't looking forward to seeing my trainer but he was great. Said he's trained lots of athletes who get injured. So he modified my routine so that my core is always protected. Of course the hardest thing is I have to pass on my hour on the elliptical for now.

So I'm subbing out 30 min on the treadmill and we'll see how that goes. The issue is that my eating has to be "stellar" now that I am not getting so much exercise.

I'm glad you're feeling better Jen.

That is amazing! Way to go...I don't know if I have ever been in a size 8 so I can't even imagine~that is so great you should be so proud! :cool1:

It's Friday! Time to CHECK IN!

As for me, well, as expected, results not good, but not horrible either.
-Exercise: did a couple of short runs and walks with the dog. Am starting to feel a lot better, so I should be back to my old routine soon.
-Weight: up a pound. To be expected, since I didn't track and let some not so good foods back into the diet

I can live with it. Overall, I'm on track. Just a mini dip in the longer term plan. It happens.

So where are the rest of you??
-Sarah: Congrats on staying so focused this week. You have been the star while many of us have been, well, distracted by our lives. GREAT JOB!! :thumbsup2

-Cristabel: How's it going? Congrats on graduation!

-Vicki: Where are you?? Do I need to tie those running shoes on you and push you out the door? Remember, you don't start feeling good about running until you're ten minutes into that workout, so don't wait for the mood to hit you. It won't. BTW...have you signed up for a race yet? There's nothing like that commitment that gets you motivated to train. Get out there and register for the DL 5k with the rest of us girlfriend!!!

-Donna: So sorry about this injury. Ugh. Workouts just aren't as fun when you're feeling not so strong and hurt. I know. But you got to keep going and fortunately you have a trainer to help you through this period. Have you considered swimming? It's such a good exercise that you can basically always do...even with injuries.

-Beth: R U?

-Amy: Hey swimmer? Where are you??? Check in and let us know how the laps are or aren't going?

Others: Time to get moving again! No time like the present to take care of your health!

Happy Friday everyone!

Jen, in case I haven't said it lately, thank you for being our cheerleader! Seriously, YOU keep this thread going no matter what. You find amazing, inspiring quotes to post, you worry about everyone when they don't show up, you cheer for those who do well, and commiserate with those who don't all the while letting them know they can still do better.
And you do all this in the midst of your own illnesses, family life, and work! We have a fantastic, supportive group here, and I am grateful for each and everyone of the ladies, but you truly are our leader. So, thank you.

I hope everyone saw some pretty numbers on the scale this morning. I didn't. lol

Well, I knew I was going to the doc yesterday so I weighed in yesterday morning to see if my scale matched the docs. I was down from 218 the week prior, to 212. YAY!! And it matched the doc's scale. Great. I was down another 6 pounds. :cool1:  :woohoo:

WAS being the key word.

Last night to celebrate the last day of school, we had Chinese food, and brownies. And yes, I over-indulged. So today I hop on the scale and am back up to 215. WTH?!?!?!?!? For real?? I gained 3 pounds in one day??? That bites.

I don't get how it's so easy to gain weight. I just don't understand it. So, anyway, guess my official weigh-in is 215. Still down from the 218, but come on!

Anyhoo, I hope you all have a great day. Talk to you soon. Keep on keeping on!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Beth, glad to see you back! A 3 pound loss is fantastic! And WHEN you stick to a good plan this week those other 3 will be gone for good and maybe they will take some of their friends with you! Hope today is back on track for you....are you drinking any water?

Beth I totally agree and thank you for stating it so well! JEN - YOU ARE THE BEST! And I have not been the best contributor this past couple of weeks but you are amazing and I really do appriceate your encourament and your kick my bottom posts! And you motivate us even when you have trying times yourself! A huge thank you!!

I agree WTH!!! It takes days/weeks sometimes to lose 3 lbs but one night to gain it and I know we all know it is just water retention but still WTH!

I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better! And before you know it you'll be out there running for hours again! Plano TX?? Is that where the headquarters is located? That is about as exciting as where my corporate office is located, South Lake TX!
When I got my new laptop and the person who moved all of my data was obviously in TX because all of my default location settings are TX.

Thanks for the pep talk and yes, I do need someone to tie on my running shoes and kick me out the door! I need a swift kick for sure!! I do need to sign up for a race soon to give me something to work toward. I’m still thinking about the DL5K it would be fun to do it with you all!! I’m here but not here and I know I need to just get out there and RUN. I’ve been in a bit of a funk the past couple of weeks about several things and I know the fact that I’ve not run in a week is not helping because that is the ONLY part of my life that I do have control over at the moment but for some reason I just can’t get out there! %@#$!!! I had decided to run today sometime but it is a rainy, dreary day and all I really want to do is go back to bed or read my book. But I’m working and feeling very ‘funky’…ugh…I really don’t like this mood I’ve been in! :sad2:
As for weight I have stayed the same which is amazing because I have not been eating on program or doing any exercising.

Happy Friday everyone and I hope you all are doing well!

 Oh Vicki! Sorry you are not feeling "right" lately. I know how that can be but truly, the sooner you get back to working out and eating right, the sooner you will feel like your old self...I know it is hard to do, but it always seems to work, even when everything else in our worlds are not neccessarily under our control. Good luck...I know you can do it!

Sarah

Vicki, I know you've had a lot of stress and worry to deal with lately. Hang in there.

Ah shucks...you guys are the best! Thank YOU for all the support. 'tis by helping others that we best help ourselves. :grouphug:

Beth: First off, CONGRATULATIONS! :cheer2: 3 pounds ain't shabby my friend. It's awesome!! But I understand that you had a glimpse of that 6 pounds that you wished you could have frozen. Ugh..

I really think you might like Weight Watchers online. Why don't you try it? I think there's an offer that I posted awhile back where you can try it for a few weeks for free (I'll look for it again if you are interested). Thing that's good about WW is that it does provide flex points so you can treat yourself once in awhile, without sabotauging all the hard work you put in days before. It also really helps with healthy eating tips, so you can track veggies/fruits, healthy oils, milk products, water. Plus you get more points for exercise! I'm sure there are other great programs out there too, but this is a tried and true one that you might really like. Heck, try it out for free and if it's not for you, well then you don't have to stick with it.

Vicki: Sometimes I think it's alright if we curl up and lick our wounds. But eventually, we do need to brave the outside world again. Maybe what you need right now is just a walk. Some fresh air. Get the blood moving. Get your mind off things. Things are gonna be alright and soon you'll be back to your running self. :wizard:

I did a run today. Just a couple miles. The last 1/4 mile was brutal. I actually walked it. Slowly but surely, I'll get back to this. It was nice just to get outside.

Take care ladies.

Hi Jen! I am so glad to hear you're feeling better. I am also a lot better today than I've been since the injury first started 8 days ago. Working out with the trainer might be the reason.

Today was the first day I went outside without the brace. I even wore nice shoes (non-athletic shoes and not sandals) because a friend was taking me to lunch and did fine. I am almost normal!!!

I used to swim because I couldn't walk due to the achillis tendonitus... so I think I will see if I can get back to it at my gym. We have a pool but the heater is broken and it is a question whether it should be repaired or replaced... and then if it should be done now or after the pool is replastered... I know TMI... :lmao:

Anyway, tomorrow I will go to the gym and do a slow treadmill walk.

Happy Friday everyone!

:

I KNOW exactly what happened because it happened to me this week - CHINESE FOOD. Yes, I was up 1 1/2 lb in one day from that and was shocked. It must be msg and water retention. I promise you, if you don't eat salty food for a day (as well as stay on program), it will go back down to the lower weight you saw because mine went back down this morning. I am a pound higher than my lowest weight due to the injury.

I did a run today. Just a couple miles. The last 1/4 mile was brutal. I actually walked it. Slowly but surely, I'll get back to this. It was nice just to get outside.

Take care ladies.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: Great. Jen, let me say me too - I so appreciate that we have you as a leader here. You are always inspiring!

Sarah, keep going! Wendy so nice to see you here!!:dance3:

I'm proud of all of you! Keep up the good work girls! :goodvibes

Vicki, you need the endorphins from your exercise because you're going through a lot. Give yourself that.

I'm proud of all of you! Keep up the good work girls! :goodvibes

Hey Miss Wendy! Thanks for stopping by.
How are you doing? You went for a walk way back then, stopped for fries and a beer and were never heard from again on these boards. That's why I never let my kids go out unsupervised!

You know all this work it takes to get and stay healthy...you are SO SO worth it!

You are always welcome on this board, regardless how well you have or haven't been doing. Don't be a stranger, my friend.
