Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Well, I stayed steady this week, so I'm not totally mad at myself. I've been walking every night, but only about a mile, so I need to step that up. I'm drinking tons of water (like 3 liters a day) but I know my healthy eating habits are just not there. It's something to work on this week.
We're going to a rib cook-off in Reno next weekend, so I don't know what's going to happen with that. I'll just have to do a great job of watching what I eat leading up to the weekend away.

Well, not a stellar week all around, but hopefully that will help everyone get back on track for this coming week. I have even more incentive now! I will be going on a plane in a little over 6 months. Last time I went I had to get a seat belt extender on a couple of the legs...I am already over 15 lbs lighter than I was then, but it would still be close and I want to be able to fit comfortably. I will be going solo unless I manage to get on the same flight as another lady from our trip...which means sitting next to strangers which means invading their space because of my size. I would like to cut back on that as much as I can, plus I want to be able to keep up with everyone at DL. I know I will have more energy the more weight I lose, excersize I get, and healthily I eat.

I know I have said this before, but we can all do this. We just have to take it one small decision at a time. Say someone offers you a mocha frap that they accidentally got a second one of for free. Do not say yes just because it is free and offered to you. Drink the water you have in your hand instead. Say you order a fairly healthy meal at a restaurant but the portion size is huge. Ask for the to go box right a way and put half of it in the box before you start eating. Once you start eating and get talking with your friends and family the whole plate could be gone before you know it when you only had wanted to eat half of it. (I know from personal experience!) THINK about each thing you are going to put in your mouth. Will it help you accomplish your goals? Will it help you have a good weigh in? Each decision we make affects the outcome of that week. Make good decisions ladies, you are worth it! Now, for a good decision...get that water bottle and drink it till it's gone...now refill it and do it again!...just for good measure! Get it...Measure!

Good job Cristabel!

Thanks for the pep talk Sarah!

Tina, good luck at the rib cook off. That's a tough one, but since you know ahead of time you'll be splurging then as you said, just be really strict leading up to it and get right back on track afterwards. You can do it!

OK, so I am setting a high goal for myself this week. After gaining last week, I need to get back to where I want to be. So my goal this week is to lose 4 lbs.

That's a lot for one week, for me anyway, so I hope I can do it. But I'm really going to try.

Hi Ladies!

Great job Cristabel! :cheer2:

Great attitude Sarah! :thumbsup2

Beth -- Please don't sweat the 1.6 lbs. You're on the right track and there's no going back. What's the alternative? Sitting on the couch eating cheesy poofs? No way! This is about a lifestyle choice, not the scale. You're doing awesome and don't let one week's numbers make you feel otherwise.

So here's the QUOTE OF THE WEEKEND with a little focus on running, since that's what I'll be doing tomorrow.

I run because I can.

When I get tired, I remember those who can't run, what they'd give to have the simple gift I take for granted, and I run harder for them.

I know they'd do the same for me.

I think a fabulous goal would just to be back to a 1 to 2 lb. weight loss! Let last week go and just get back on track....4 lbs sounds a bit drastic. You don't need to punish yourself this week. Just go back to your good habits and let your body lose at a rate that is comfortable and sustainable.

Be nice to yourself. If it takes one extra week to get to your goal, so be it. Better than feeling bad about yourself and beating yourself up. Pretend someone else wrote that they had to lose 4 lbs in one week and give yourself the advice I know you would give others. You're worth it. :goodvibes

Hi, ladies!
I am drowning in homework and need a break! What can be better break than dis-ing?!:surfweb: lol

Oh please! I am allotted 31 and I eat them all everyday and sometimes have some of my "bonus" points too. And ya know what?! I lost 3 lbs this week! Woo Hoo I am at 255...hey, could you check and make sure I am doing the right number of points? I am just doing ww from what I can remember from doing it a couple years ago...I though it was 31 for 250-275, then 29 for 225-249...is this correct?

Congrats on the 1 lb down since monday! For 4 days that is great! Keep up the great work!

Sarah

The points system has changed a bit. I am copying the quiz from my booklet...shh, don't tell.:ssst:

10 pounds!! That's 2 sacks of potatoes you don't have to carry around with you anymore! WOOHOO! Great job! :woohoo:

Now for the QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"Feeling grateful or appreciative of someone or something in your life actually attracts more of the things that you appreciate and value into your life."
Christiane, Northrup

And I'm grateful that I got my exercise back on track this week and am feeling healthy again. I did not lose anything, but didn't gain either. And honestly, I was a bit suspicious of my 2 lb. loss last week. So here's to be moving again and to be first 10k in two days!

Happy Friday Ladies!
Congrats on losing 2 lbs! And good job getting back on track with exercise!:thumbsup2

Congrats to those who lost or maintained!!! :cool1:  Good job!!! :cheer2:

I unfortunately gained. :sad2: I am so bummed. I was hoping to break into the 220's and instead I am going back up!!!!!!

I went from 230.2 back to 231.8 so I am up 1.6 lbs.

Oh well. I'm not giving up. I'm not going to let it get to me. Just keep on keeping on and aim for a better weigh in next Friday.

Maybe it is water weight? You have a good attitude about it! Just keep at it!!:woohoo:

I'm seriously too scared to weigh in.:scared1:

Beth - keep up the good work and the great attitude! You've already lost quite a bit......don't let a little pound and a half get your down AT ALL!:cheer2:

Sarah - WOW, you're doing great! Way to go!

Jen - Love your quotes! Good luck in the 10k!

January - Yay, you lost a pound, and it's not even Monday yet!:yay:

As far as my baby going to kindergarten......he really is "the baby" in our family. We're not having anymore babies, so he's it for us. (sniffle-sigh):sad1: (Not that we can't have another baby. We're just getting too old.....and poor.;) )

And did I ever mention, I HATE VACUUMING! It is my least favorite chore. I know many love it and find it therapeutic (gag), but me......hate it!:goodvibes

I hate vacuuming to! Our dog tries to attack it everytime I bring it out, so at least I get some entertainment.

Thank you! You are so positive and motivating! :goodvibes I won't punish myself though, I promise.
The kids start school this week and I'll be walking the twins to and from school, so I was hoping with the added movement that 4 lbs would be doable. BUT if not, that's ok too. I'm just going to keep trying. After coming this far, no way am I going back. :thumbsup2

January, is that quiz how you figure out your points total? Then what? How do you know how many points certain foods are?

If it's a WW secret, you don't have to tell me. LOL I just don't know anything about how it works. :confused3

LOL...it is not a secret! The peeps on the WW community boards might hang me by my toenails if they find out I gave out the points info. :scared1:

I have a points calculator that I got when I joined WW. Some foods will have the points value on the packaging. Lean Cuisines and WW foods do. I have an extra points calculator if you want me to send it to you. It is really easy to figure the points out once you have it.

Also, there is a website that has the points values for food and restaurants. http://www.dwlz.com

Just let me know if you want that calculator, I can send it on Monday.:thumbsup2

Good news! I just lost 3 pounds!!!!! Well, not really. I found out today that my scale is set 3 pounds heavier than it should. I'll take any victory at this point..............

I just wanted to pop in and say hi before I head to church.

Well, I wishing everyone skinny vibes this week and hope that we all have losses!:yay:
