Disneyland and that 3-year old birthday

I know in WDW, if a child turns three during the trip, you still don't pay admission the entire trip (or if they turn from child age to adult age on tickets, you don't have to pay the adult age ticket.) Is this in effect in DL, too? My friend is talking about taking the boys in March while our husbands are deployed, and Russ turns three on March 16, which is a Sunday, so if we did that weekend, we'd be there at least by Friday. If not, I'll beg for an earlier weekend so I don't have to pay for him.

Also, do you have to start paying for their meals at buffets at age three, regardless of the ticket thing? 'Cuz then we'll do that Saturday night.

I don't know about the buffet, but I do know that the not-paying-for-tickets is the same as WDW from reading other posts on this board.

I don't know for sure, but I would think that the buffet price would depend on the child's age at the time the meal was being eaten.

I've read it (as opposed to "heard it") explained as that you might have a birthday at Disney, you don't AGE at Disney.

If you started the visit before and continued the trip after the birthday, I would tell that to servers, and see what they say.

Kat, thank you for your husband's service to our country & your family's sacrifice. We all pray that he returns safely.

I think Walt would agree with Bumbershoot.....you don't age at Disney until you're on the flight back home.

Sweet on the tickets! I think I will ask Disney when we call about making dining reservations, just in case. I would love, love, love to celebrate his birthday there. (Just because Momma is cheap and after he turns three, he's not going again until he's 40". Which will probably be this summer. )

Good question! My DD turns 3 in Feb and we're trying to schedule a last minute trip the weekend before her birthday. As she is so tall I think we'l be bringing "proof" that she's still 2. Yup, we're cheap too, lol.

I hear you! My son turns two on January 30th and we're already getting questions about our "three year old"...people don't really believe his age until they hear him talk (he definitely doesn't speak as well as a three year old). He's a tall one!

We brought my daughter right around her 3rd birthday as well as my 2 nephews (who were big for their age) and we weren't even questioned about them, we didn't offer up tickets for them, they were in a stroller and right on in we went.
