Ok, so I just called and it is changed, only 1 adult per child attending can purchase tickets. Other adults are no longer allowed to have the discounted tickets.

How sad, I wonder if the change came about because of people abusing the program. :sad2:

Hi everyone- New to this "YES" subject and had a couple quick questions and I'm sure they have been covered many times so SORRY!

* It will be myself and my husband and our 10 year old daughter. I would like to sign her up for a class and it looks like one of us needs to attend it with her. My question is can I get tickets for all three of us? When I tried to look into it it seems I can only buy them for her and the adult attending, is this correct?

* We will be obviously needing to get a hotel and would like to get dining (we will be paying for it I'm sure, since there are no pins yet, so that is fine). My question is Can I call and make all 3 together (hotel, dining option and Yes program tickets)?

* We will not be going until end of February early March. Is the Yes program all year around?

Thank you!!!

Here's a little hellp...

1--Yes, you should be able to buy tickets for all three of you. They are/have made changes to their computer system at the end of last week and are still working through some glitches. There are some posts a couple of pages back where people were able to manipulate the system by listing everyone needing park tickets and then only sleecting the people taking the class. You could try that or wait or call the YES office.

2--I do not think you can book hotel & dining through the YES office and you can ONLY book YES class tickets through the YES office not CRO. And if you do not book any tickets through CRO you may not be eligible for dining (I'm not positive about that:confused3). I think I remember reading that if you add regular park tickets to your room package, you could have them "removed" at check in to be used at a later date in the future since they do not expire until the first day is activated at a park turnstile. This would take some very careful planning.

3--Not sure about Feb/March dates from 2011. The program is technically year-round, but there are certain times when they do not offer classes due to other events at the parks.

HTH

**ETA: Well, put #1 on hold. While I was typing my reply, someone posted info to the contrary.

I called at 9:45 this morning and was told that parents and siblings COULD purchase tickets. I specifically said, We have 5 people in our family, 3 kids, 2 parents. Only 1 child and 1 parent would attend classes. Can I get tickets for all 5 of us? He said YES. I said, What about grandparents, I've heard different answers? He said NO, not for the grandparents.

I guess I will call back and ask again.

Keep us posted...this will change things for a lot of people and I'm guessing a lot of families with only children will have to double-think enrolling!

On hold with Robby now, he confirmed what I said, but just put me on hold to double check....12:40pm

Ok, super nice guy, he said that everyone in his office and all of his information says immediate family.

He also knew (without me telling him) that I had sent an email asking about the Oct 10th class over the weekend. He said he was not specifically handling that question but he knew it had been forwarded to the appropriate group/person.

Ok, the blood pressure is dropping now. :goodvibes

So glad to hear this..may not have to go back to the drawing board after all...and glad to hear your blood pressure is easing! :goodvibes

I talked with Amanda this morning who confirmed that you can only purchase one additional adult discount ticket per child attending. So, there is 5 of us going: me, DH, DD16 and DD12 and grandma. I was able to sign up the girls for classes and purchase their tickets and me and DH's tickets (total of 4). She said Grandma will have to get her ticket another way. She was very nice, put me on hold and did ask around to be sure, and that was the answer I got.

I was able to sign up for classes and purchase tickets online with no problem. Looks like now you print a voucher to take to will call. There is no option to have them sent to your home via FedEx.

I am not complaining at all. We saved hundreds of dollars.

Ok, I didnt have extra children just extra adults and she said I couldnt buy tickets for adults.

Hubby told me to go ahead and sign up before the classes filled. I have 2 in Ocean Discoveries on Oct 11th and 1 in Captivating Memories Oct 11th. I'll go with my teen, Hubby will go with the two little ones.
These are the classes and the day we had planed so I am happy.
I just got 3 day hoppers since we are doing US/IOA as well.

I got a will call print out so i'll have to pick mine up i guess.

I will see you there! I have a 12 yr old daughter signed up for the Ocean Discoveries that day and a 16 yr old daughter signed up for the Captivating Memories. Husband gets to go to the Captivating Memories- I think he is going to enjoy it as much as she will. Hopefully the class will go ahead and fill up now and won't be cancelled.

I got a will call print out too.

thanks for the response! So is it safe to say I can buy yes tickets for my daughter and I and then (if memory serves) I can buy a "regular" ticket for my husband with the Hotel and that would trigger the option to purchase dining?

Again if I remember you only need 1 person to buy tickets to get the dining option. Is that correct?

thanks again!

So my next question is, are they going to have the kids and adults names on the tickets because a couple of my kids are going with other family we have going to parks different from Dh and I and I didn't know if I would have to keep each kid's ticket the same one or we can just use different ones? I think I have too many kids going to keep everything straight, lol.

In order to purchase a dining plan, you have to purchase tickets for each person in your room. The only time where only 1 person needs to have a ticket is when you're booking an Annual Pass package in which case only the person whose name is the lead on the room reservation has to have an AP. The only other option besides this for purchasing a dining plan without purchasing tickets would be if you're staying at a DVC resort using points. If you don't own DVC then you can do this by renting points (there's a whole board dedicated to this subject here on the DIS so if this option interests you then go check it out).

Hey all,
So I thought I would update everyone as well (though it's been covered a few times above)... As of today, 4/18/11 at 9AM, there is a 1-to-1 ratio for Disney Individual Enrollment tickets. For every student you have taking the program, you may purchase 1 discounted ticket for someone else. I asked about my wife and they did make a special exception for her, but when I asked about my grandmother, they said they could not. Totally understand!

If you need to, you can call or write to confirm. The number is 888-779-1757 option 3, or the email address is WDW.YES.Individual.Programs@disney.com

I'm guessing this is due to some people taking advantage of the very loose restrictions with the program. :( Sad. But hey, we're all still saving TONS of money AND having a great time! Even having to pay for a full priced ticket for grandma, we still saved HUNDREDS of dollars!

Ok, I've just gotten off the phone with Amanda. This makes my 3rd call today, and every time I am told the exact same thing, that all 5 of my family can purchase tickets through the YES program. I am not doubting or questioning what other posters are saying, but somehow we are either getting different information or interpreting it differently.

Each time I have called I have said, my familiy is myself, my husband, and my 3 kids. Only 1 child and 1 adult will attend the classes, can I still buy 5 tickets? The answer has been yes all 3 times.

That's weird and very conflicting to what Jerrod told me when I called last week. We have never done YES before, and so I called when I was having issues when only entering the names of the ppl. attending the class on the first page where you enter kids names/ages and adults. If I only entered the ppl. attending then on the page (to buy tickets) it would only allow me to purchase that many tickets. Jerrod told me to enter everyone's info. (all immediate family) on the first page, and on the next page (where you check who's going to the class) that's where you indicate who's attending the class. I did it that way and was able to check only the 3 ppl. that were attending the class, and also able to purchase all 6 tickets (even though one of the kids is too young and won't be attending any class- along with 2 of the adults.) It seemed to go through, and I've been charged, but now I'm wondering if we're going to have issues once we get there. I tried calling once today, but when I called the Yes office number on the website, she said I had to call the number at the bottom of my confirmation email. I did, but could only leave a message. Hopefully everything will turn out.

I purchased tickets over the weekend and I was told the same thing by Amanda today. Immediate family members can purchase tickets.

I spoke to Francis, who also told me that they changed their system last week, and have had "tons" of problems since then. She told me that parents and siblings were still approved for individual enrollment packages if at least one child was participating.

I asked how to obtain the tickets for immediate family members, and she also gave me this work around that others have mentioned. I told her that by checking the box that I "understood I should only list students who are participating in the class in the named fields". I told her I didn't feel comfortable "committing fraud" over discounted disney tickets. She reassured me that this is the workaround they are giving callers/registrants at this time. I've ordered the tickets, but will also follow up again in a week - to make sure we don't have lingering problems.

Here is the answer I received to my email asking where Oct 10th classes were. I sent the email Friday.

"Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your email! I do see that our programs that were scheduled for October 10, 2011 did not make it onto the registration site. We are working with our partners to get that corrected and hope to have it up and running by the end of this week. Thanks!

Have a Magical Day!

Disney Youth Group Programs"

I sent an email this morning asking when the Oct 10th classes would be available. I'll update if I hear anything.

Lisa
