Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

If you read the notices at the top of the page it says one adult to one chd ticket. At least that is what I think I read.

Yeah, but that's not how it was for summer. We have 3 kids and 5 adults and it went through fine. My pastor just did his for June and it worked for him too. I guess they are changing the rules.

The rules have not changed I have spoken with 2 different representatives from the YES program and they said that the disclaimer mean one adult per child attending the class because some people were wanting their whole group to attend. Tickets are still available for immediate family members that has not changed but the new system has a glitch that they are working to resolve. It sounds like some others were putting in either adult names or their older/younger childrens names in the student section to allow them to purchase now. I think some were even told to do so by the yes program as a work around. From the last I have heard the issue was supposed to be resolved by Monday.

I was going to sign up for a program today using yes program. but the system would not let me sign up for more than 1 adult per child, I was thinking about puting a ficticious name in the 2nd child slot, like an under3 age so I could get tickets for me and my wife.

one disclaimer states tickets may be voided for non attendence, so heres what i am thinking what if we sign up for a class a week after we are actually going to be there. then when they call say our plans got changed and we had to travel early.

Here's an idea--if you aren't going to go to the class, why don't you just buy regular tickets and leave the spots for people who WANT to go? I honestly hope Disney comes up with a policy where they can charge people's credit cards the difference between YES ticket prices and gate prices, whether they have already used the tickets or not, if they don't attend the class or have a valid reason not to. People who cheat the system tend to mess things up for those who play by the rules. Disney will go back to YES being for educational groups only if people keep doing this.

Previous posters have asked lots of questions about no showing for classes and do the tickets have names on them or can they get lots of extra tickets for extended family ?

Tickets are meant for people who plan on attending the class.

As parents we have to be role models for our children.

For those who plan on cheating the y.e.s. program, is this the way you want to teach your kids to learn ? Could you tell this story to your kids when they are older and feel like you did the right thing ? Are you going to teach them to cheat at school or in sports to get things they may not be able to get on their own ?

Please do not cheat the program. It may save you money but it may cause the program to cease. What a shame for those who really wanted to attend the classes.

Sorry, I've been through a day(mom and dad's home was hit by a tornado yesterday). I knew I should have ignored it, but it just burns me up that people think like that. I would love to use YES for many more years to save money, and people who cheat the system will get the whole program yanked.

Sorry about your parents! I agree though, I hate to see such a wonderful program yanked. I hope to be able to use this for cub scouts down the road and don't want it ruined.

I just purchased tickets for 2 adults and 2 kids, only 1 kids can attend the program. My other son is only 4. After I purchased the tickets I only received a receipt by email. Is this correct, should I recevied more? I did this last year and I received an email about the time and location of the program. The money was taken from my account as well.

They don't ship anymore, you can take that receipt printed with ID to any of the parks or TTC apparently. I'll just have to factor that in the plan when we arrive.

Please don't be sorry i went to leave a post the same as you then thought this story seems to be changing so thought i would look at the other posts by this person then something twigged As a home-school parent i to want the program to continue even if we only get to come over every few years! Does anyone know if everyone has to be present to pick up the tickets? My parents are arriving later in the day so I was hoping to pick them up on my own earlier. I am guessing just one person with ID needs to go? Does anyone know thanks!

From what I read, it looks like the only person that has to be there to pick the tickets up, is the "contact person" with a valid ID. In the confirmation I received it told me who the pick-up person was (same as what I put down for my contact person.)

I don't think that questions asre allowed here that suggest breaking Disney rules.

The day of our YES class at Epcot will probably end up being our only Epcot day and I was thinking one of the adults from our group that is not attending the class might be able to get a few fastpasses for the kids to use when the class is over. Would that work?

That would work. After the kids go through the gate just gather up the tickets.

At Disneyland, we had a different problem--they let us keep the discount tickets (which, don't get me wrong, we appreciated), but my daughter was very sad and disappointed she could not attend the physics class--she was really looking forward to it (and has been griping about it ever since )

I hope they don't cancel this program--it seems like such a marvelous opportunity!
