The adult tickets are the same price as the tickets for the kids participating in the program. It is an awesome deal!

Holy Crap - that is AWESOME!!! We are wanting to do two days at Universal, after 4-5 at Disney, so the savings would pay for our tix there. That would be AWESOME!

We were thinking we'd have to postpone a year because we are already having issues with this trip because of a timeshare sale that has gone awry - we thought our resort/hotel was paid for, but alas, no (lllloooonnngggg story) -- so now we need hotel $$$ too. Getting tix at this price, with DD being able to get this experience, could be a good sign that we are still meant to go! I just emailed the program to inquire about Nov. dates. They are up for Disneyland, just not WDW yet.

THANK YOU!!!

It seems that the maximum has been cut back to 7 day tickets.

:goodvibes

Actually, they have ADDED the ability to buy 8 day tickets to the order form (without having to indicate it in the comment/question box). I had called Ashley on Friday to ask if it was still possible to get 8 day tickets, and she told me the change had been made on Thursday of last week.

I checked the website and it is so. Hopefully, this helps some folks out!

8 Day Youth Education Series Starter Package $172.71

8 Day Youth Education Series Park Hopper® Package $190.82

8 Day Youth Education Series Premium Package $208.92

What page is that from? On the 2011 Ticket Packages page it only shows up to 5 days.

When I registered a week ago, the ticket packages page only showed up to 5 days, but when I went through the registration form, it gave me the option to buy tickets up to 7 days. I didn't see any comments section at the time, but Ashley had already told me the max was 8 days, so I chose 7 on the order form, then emailed her and asked to have it changed to 8. She replied the next day and said she had changed it.

But from the previous poster, it sounds like they have now added the option of 8 days on the registration page.

I don't really understand why they won't do 9 or 10 day tickets. The way they price the normal MYW tickets, it's obvious that they are trying to encourage people to stay longer so they will spend more money in the parks. So I'm not sure why they wouldn't want to do the same for people participating in the YES program.

They are already giving a huge discount. If you want 10 days you can always buy myw tickets.

Yes, but I'm going to spend _more money_ if I'm in the parks for 10 days than I am for only 8 days. Would they rather I go spend my money at Universal for those extra 2 days? :confused3

eta: Out of curiosity, I just priced out Universal tickets. _If_ Disney was offering 10 Day Premium ticket packages, I figure they'd be about (or less than) $220. That'd be a no-brainer, slam dunk, done deal. Since they are offering only up to 8 days at $208.94, adding a 2 day park-to-park Universal ticket at $145.92 is LESS than buying a 10 day MYW w/Park Hopper & Water Parks and More. Hmmmm, lemme think ...

i'd advise picking up your tickets as soon as you are positive you are going. Non homeschoolers grabbed them for the January days. We weren't able to get in. They should hold them for homeschoolers, imo.
I'm a little confused. Is the "Open Enrollment" supposed to be only for homeschoolers? Or do they have different YES program openings specifically for homeschoolers that others have co-opted? I thought Open Enrollment was just that: open to everyone.

Yes, I understand that. The YES tickets are a great deal and I'm not complaining. I just don't understand the logic.

Why would they price MYW tickets in a way that is designed to encourage people to stay longer, but not use the same strategy for people buying discounted tickets for YES?

Open Enrollment is for anyone. There are separate Homeschool Days. Non-homeschoolers jumped in and joined the Homeschool Days program though. Which left some actual homeschoolers out.

Personally, my feeling is that if they are going to crack down on the "groups" that have been formed for the sole purpose of taking advantage of the YES program, then they need to also ask for proof that you are homeschooling. This can be done several ways; HSLDA card, curriculum receipt, copy of a letter of intent to homeschool, etc.

There are more classes offered for traditional students, but it really is a first come first served kind of thing.

I got an email this morning- "We thought you'd want to be the first to know that individual enrollment is open.." I don't know if this is for new dates, or what.

I got that too, and it was just for the summer dates. Boo! Come on September!!!!

I got it too and went to the website no new dates are up yet  maybe Cliff jumped to soon emailing the notice out and someone hasn't hit the "go live" button for the website hehehehe

Well, that's too bad. I would personally feel uncomfortable if my kid went to classes that were reserved for homeschoolers. As for the on-the-fly groups ... eh ... no skin off my nose. The kids are going to a fun & educational program and the parents get to save a bit of money. I don't have a problem with it.

I don't have a problem with it either. But, I guess Disney does now. Speculation is that they are cracking down because people aren't showing up for the class, but still getting their discounted tickets. Too bad.

It stinks when rude people ruin things for everyone.

I'm sorry to ask a question that I am sure has been answered before many times! I did poke through the thread a bit and the YES website, but I can't find my answer. I was thinking about joining a DIS group last year (but didn't) and I recall a restriction on the number of tickets that can be purchased per child. Can I buy 3 tickets for my family of 3 with only 1 child in the program? I seem to remember that I can only buy 2 tickets per child.

If you go during open enrollment there isn't a limit on the tickets. I don't know about groups.

I believe you can buy as many tickets as you need for your immediate family.

Thanks guys! Now to talk to DH about when we're going next. I know this is rather shocking, but we got a little burned out with WDW last year. We spent 10 days in August and then another 5 days in December. August was beastly hot and melted my DH and December was cold :lmao:. It was like herding cats to get my DH and DD out the door to the parks!

I just enrolled my kids in one of the June 14th classes so it's up and running now. We are all so excited!!
