Disney World? Nope! It's Worley World! Our 2011 Disney Adventures! *Updated 4/25/12*

Hi guys! Sorry it has been so long! Things have been pretty nuts here! Between our amazing girls trip, getting ready for soccer season to start, getting Livy ready to start preschool, and general craziness I've been busy!

When I last left off my little princess had been made into a little Pixie and we still had some fun stuff to do at DHS!

We decided to try out something new (at least I'm pretty sure it was new for Olivia): The Backlot Tour. Let me just start by saying that I remember this attraction from trips as a kid and it has definitely gone WAY downhill! They have dumbed it down so much and taken out SO much of the real "backlot" type of stuff. Anyway, there was pretty much zero wait, so we walked right in and picked our spot for the first scene.

Olivia thought it was pretty neat with all the water soaking everything. This part could use an update as well...just saying. Olivia really enjoyed the rest of the tour and riding on the tram.

After our tour was over, I realized that Lights! Motors! Action! had a show that was getting ready to start in a few minutes, and since we both like the show, we pretty much ran over and grabbed some seats just before it started. About 5 minutes in, Livy started to be a pill. I knew it was because she was tired, and she wasn't being disruptive (unlike the child a few rows behind us who was screaming bloody murder saying that he wanted to leave and take a nap, and the father kept saying he didn't care because he paid good money to come to the park and he was going to get his money's worth). I managed to keep her pretty happy with some snacks and drinks and we both enjoyed the show. I'm fairly confident that the child who screamed the WHOLE show was not a happy camper!

After the mass exodus I decided that it was time for a real lunch instead of snacks and we headed to Backlot Express. I have no idea what we ate because I took zero pics and cannot find the receipt. :scared1: After we finished filing our bellies, we made our way to the front of the park to do some shopping/browsing. Along the way my little lady requested a picture.

After our shopping (I'm pretty sure I bought a couple of pins and possibly a new stuffed animal to add to Olivia's collection), we headed out and grabbed a bus back to POFQ. We hit the bathroom and grabbed a drink before headed out at 3:35. After a nice, uneventful ride, we pulled in the driveway at 5:15. With that our little girls trip was done!

Up next: A trip with a friend!

Great update!!!! I love the face painting :) We had girls that would come into BBB with braids from the cruise + face painting and getting the princess make-overs with all of that as well lol. Only a few more days till Disney!!!! :)

Wow! That all sounds a bit excessive!!! Why pay money for the BBB when all that is already done! I made sure to make Livy wait to get her face painted until after the BBB in December! I was going to get my money's worth! :rotfl:

Disney was awesome! It was so great to finally get to meet you and hang out! Eventually I'll get to those days in this TR! I bet you will beat me to it!

Love the facepaint!!!!

I am also looking forward to the new playhouse Disney show. Less than 6 weeks now!!!!

She is so obsessed with face painting! She begged to get it done when we were there last week, but I wasn't about to spend $20 on something that was gong to sweat off in minutes!

The Disney Junior show is great! I think it's much better than the old one! The characters are actually up to date with what is currently on Disney Junior!

her facepaint is so pretty!

so was the new Jake part really cute? William is looking forward to that too- he loves Jake!

That is the 2nd or 3rd time she has gotten the same design! I guess she is a creature of habit!

The Jake part is definitely cute! All the kids seemed to love it and were dancing around the whole time! I bet William will love it!

Awwww! Love it!!

I love that you ask for extra pixie dust just to annoy him. That stuff kinda makes me nuts sometimes, but it's a happy nuts. I can't believe that I'm still finding it in the most random places at home!

I love the fake Ariel & Eric kiss! It's so silly and makes me leave the show with a smile. :thumbsup2

Glad Olivia liked the Disney Junior show! It is a lot of fun!

LOL! The Pixie Dust cracks me up every time! As much as Olivia loves it, is as much as Toby loathes it! It really does last and hang around forever! She got some last Saturday (the 20th) and despite bathing her daily and swimming there is still some in her hair!

That kiss kills me every time! I'm pretty sure that is the only show where there is not a real kiss...WHY?!

You can tell Olivia that Randy and i were once the people getting soaked on the Backlot Tour. They lie when they say those blue suits keep you dry ;)

I agree with you about the Backlot needing to jazz it up. Notice we skipped it this time :thumbsup2

I will definitely tell her! She pretty much thinks your whole family is the best ever (especially since Randy knew just how to make her drink), so that will make you even cooler! (She may have asked me if she could go live with you guys so she can be Aisling's sister and have you guys as a "fake mommy and daddy").

We skipped it this time too..I figured once was enough in her young life!

Disney Day #8 Sunday May29, 2011
Weather: High-90, Low-72 30% chance of rain

After a month and a half with no Disney, it was definitely time for a fix! Once again, it was time for a quick overnight trip! This trip would be a bit different for us.....we were bringing a friend! Danelle is a friend of ours who loves Disney just as much as we do, and was a new passholder. Her husband was out of town so the plan was to take a quick girls trip so we could all get a fix!

The original plan was to head up bright and early Monday morning (yes Memorial day) and spend the day doing whatever and head home that night. After some discussion we decided that we might as well just priceline a hotel and split it. I bid my standard $38 and we ended up with the Radisson Orlando-Celebration (the same place we stayed for the night before our POR reservation started for our February/March trip. I was pretty happy with this since we had already been there and enjoyed it.

Toby was planning on staying home and enjoying some man time: sleeping and playing his PS3 in peace and quiet for his two days off.

On Saturday I did the standard, clean the house, do the laundry and pack up an overnight for Olivia and I. I had called Toby at work 3 times while I was packing to make sure he didn't want to come. He assured me that spending the weekend outside, in the heat, in packed parks with 3 ladies was not his cup of tea!

After I got everything done for the day, I packed up the car and put Olivia to bed around 9:00, got my things ready for work in the morning and finally fell asleep around 2:00 or so.

I went to work like usual on Sunday morning and the plan was to leave work by 12:30, pick Danelle up since her house was on the way to the interstate, and then be on our way! Well, of course nothing goes to plan! Around 10:30 or 11:00 my phone rang and it was Toby. He wanted to know if it was too late for him to decide to come along. :sad2: Somehow I knew that he would decide to come at the last minute. Of course we didn't mind if he joined us, so that wasn't a big deal. The problem was that our house is the total opposite way of the direction I was going. I decided to just have him drive to my grandmas house and leave our car there since it was only a few blocks away from church. Problem solved. In my head I was trying to picture what he would forget while packing for himself! :rotfl:

Another wrench was thrown into the plan when it was 12:45 and I was still at work. Ughh, the one Sunday I really wanted to get out on time, and the pastor was being quite long winded! Finally, by 1:00 the last kiddo was picked up and I was headed out!

After quickly picking Toby up from grandmas house we were on the way to pick up Danelle! Olivia was so excited! She loves Danelle and the prospect of spending two whole days with her was wonderful!

By 1:45, we had picked up Danelle, hit the McD's drive thru for lunch and avoided what would have been a serious accident, when a jerky driver pulled out in front of us while we were on a 50mph road! Toby had to slam on the brakes and we were within an inch of slamming into the car! :scared1:

After that scary moment, the rest of the ride was easy and soon enough we were seeing these beautiful sights:

Up next: What AWESOME new things were in store for us?

Only two pictures?! MORE MORE MORE :)

I know, I know! The update was already getting SO long and I hadn't taken any pics up to that point! I thought I might be entitled to a couple of picture light updates in a year long TR! Guess not! I suppose I could work on another update with enough pics to satisfy you after I put Livy to bed!

Ok, guys, I just wanted to let everyone know how glad I am that so many people are reading my little old TR, but to all my lurkers, come out and say hello! I know there must be a lot of you since there are 5,000 views of the thread and only 108 posts!!! We are a nice, friendly bunch! Come on, say hello....you know you want to!

Oh yeah, I know I posted this on my Dec 2010 TR, and most of you already do, but if you want to be friends on FB, feel free in friend request me! HERE is the link!

What a rough start! Super glad you were able to avoid the accident & I hope things only get better from here. Excited about what new stuff you might find!!

When we hopped out of the car in the MK parking lot, it was 3:15. A little later than I wanted to get there, but it was better than being at home!

Livy decided that she wanted to take the ferry instead of the monorail, so off we went! She had pretty good timing, since a boat had just pulled up and we walked right on!

We made our way inside and headed for Guest Relations so I could renew our GAC. With that taken care of, we headed in, ready to have some fun! The first thing Olivia wanted to do was see if she was tall enough for Splash and BTMRR. I wasn't very hopeful, but she knows that she is not allowed to be upset if she isn't tall enough. Luckily, we have checked her height so many times and she is always too short, so she has gotten used to not being able to ride and just happily moves along to something she can do. This has also been GREAT motivation to eat veggies and drink milk since they help you grow taller you know! ;) The 4 of us made our way to Frontierland and Livy decided that she wanted to try Splash first. Toby decided that he wanted NO part in that ride! He didn't want to get wet and he didn't like the drop. We tried to talk him into it, but it was no use. So, off us 3 ladies went to see if my little peanut had grown that last little bit to make the ride. Livy walked right up to the height stick like a pro and waited for the CM to check her. The CM looked at her for all of a millisecond and said she was fine!!!! :worship: I didn't get my hopes up too high since I knew that CMs at the ride loading area would have the final say. Olivia was SO excited since she had never been told she was big enough before! I had to explain to her that we would have to wait in another line so they could check her one more time, and that they might say she was still too little and we might not be able to ride. She seemed ok with this, but I was pretty sure that they were going to check her much more carefully and we were going to be turned away, and then she was going to be a too short, sad princess.

We got up to the loading platform....the moment of truth...What would they say?

Wow! Sounds like he is doing amazingly well! Sounds like you are planning a great trip! We did the DxDP last December and LOVED it!!! It was so nice to be able to relax and enjoy some really yummy food! We stayed at POP, but since it was for Olivia's birthday, we let her pick the resort. I would stay pretty much anywhere (except for All Start Music) as long as I was at Disney, and I really do like Pop! Can't wait to hear more details as you have them!
