Hi guys! Once again I'm sorry for the delay. Livy was super sick last week with strep and a sinus infection and then just when she started getting better my moms house was robbed so I have been spending lots of time with her cleaning up, getting all new door and window locks for the house and getting her car rekeyed and all of the other unfun tasks that go along with being robbed. This is the first time I have been on the DIS in about a week! :scared1: I should have an update this week once things settle down. I'm headed back over there now since today was her first day back at work and she is scared to go home alone. :sad1::hug: Thanks to those of you that are still here!

:scared1: I'd be scared to go home, too! How awful!! So sorry to hear about your mom's house and how Olivia's been doing.

Monday May 30, 2011- Memorial Day
High of 88º, Low of 72º 30% chance of rain

When I last left off (AGES ago), we had finished off our day at MK and we back at the hotel getting some sleep. This is the point where the most horrible, no good, very bad day begins!

It all started at 5:00am when the alarm clock in the room starting going off randomly and woke everyone but Olivia up. Grr... After beating the clock into submission we went back to sleep until around 7:45.

While the grown-ups were getting ready, Livy was watching some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and eating an oh so nutritious poptart. When Toby finally crawled out of bed to get ready and when he stepped out on his side of the bed he commented on how cold the floor was. He assumed at first that it was because the a/c was right there and we had it on pretty cool all night. Well, as soon as he grabbed his clothes to put on (that were laying on the floor next to the bed), he realized that his shorts were totally soaking wet. Wet to the point that you could literally squeeze water out of them! :scared1: We quickly realized that the floor wasn't cold, it was SOAKING WET!!!!! Besides the fact that this was an annoyance, Toby had no extra shorts! The ones he wore the day before had got a big stain on them, so they were of no use. We also saw that his shoes were a bit wet as well. I hopped on the phone to the front desk right away (buy now it was 8:06). The person I spoke to did not care whatsoever. He asked if we wanted to be moved to a new room and that was it. Hello! We are getting ready to check out! What good is a new room going to do???!!! Toby was in the shower during this whole conversation, so rather than get myself even more mad I just hung up and planned on letting Toby deal with it.

While I was waiting for him to get out I did some a/c investigation. This is what I found:

HOW GROSS IS THAT?!?!?!?

As soon as Toby was out of the shower, I showed him the pictures and told him about my call to the front desk and he was on the phone in 2 seconds flat!

After getting the same useless person on the phone that I did, he demanded to talk to a manager. After a few minutes, the managers solution was to refund our resort fee and send someone up to get Tobys shorts and dry them for us.....free of charge! Well DUH!!!! I'm not paying to dry the clothes b/c your a/c is broke!!!!

At 9:10 they finally sent someone pick up the shorts (after 2 more phone calls wondering where they were). By 9:45 we still didn't have the shorts back, so that meant another call to the front desk/manager. This time when Toby called, the manager was "in a meeting" and unable to speak to Toby. Yeah right. By 9:55 the shorts finally showed back up......still damp!!!!

By this point we were all fuming! I also forgot to say that in all of the phone calls, not one person said they were sorry, or even seemed to care at all! While looking at our room keys, we saw that they said if you are not 100% satisfied they will give you a refund. It wasn't so much that we wanted a refund (since I had got a pretty good deal for the room on Priceline), we just wanted to let them know what was going on and how the staff at the hotel was treating us. Toby called the 800 number and spoke to an amazing lady who was seriously appalled at what we were telling her! Toby told her the whole story and when he told her that we had pictures, she gave us her email address to send them. She also told us she was contacting Priceline and having them refund our money. The last thing she wanted to do was have a super high up manager for the hotel chain call us so he could hear what was going on. Overall, this woman was amazing! You could tell she really cared and thought the whole situation was horrible! After getting off the phone with her, we felt better.

After all that, we decided to make the best of the day and headed to Epcot, and arrived around 10:10.

Livy wanted to head right for Test Track to ride since it was a new ride to experience since she was the magical 40 inches! Of course she got measured before we hopped in line, and made it (just barely). Look how excited she was!

Glad you finally got some satisfaction out of the hotel situation. I have found the same thing in our travels. Most just dont care and do the least they have to in order to keep the customer happy.....not Disney though:thumbsup2

First of all, THANK YOU for sticking around!!!!! I think you are one of the few that has put up with my lack of updates lately!

It was by far the worst start to the day ever!!!! I just cannot believe how people can work in the hotel industry and act like that! Disney is totally a different story! They always go above and beyond for even the tiniest thing! If we are going for any longer than just a night we always stay on property, but I am cheap by nature, so I hate to pay just to sleep for a few hours! I have since quit using Priceline...I'm just not willing to get that same hotel again (since I do the name your own price and can't see the hotel before booking)!

This trip was the most roller coaster-ish trip we have ever taken! There were some HIGH highs, and some LOW lows!

I would have put on the stained ones, for fear there was chemicals in the leak coming form the broken air conditioner :confused3

It was pretty bad! I am still in shock at how they handled the situation at the hotel level! They did contact us (more on that in the next update). I couldn't believe how much nasty mold there was in the area of the a/c!!!! Toby wanted to go down but the first time he spoke to the manager it sounded a tiny bit promising so that is why he didn't.....well that and the no shorts thing!

Oh yeah, to say we were PO'd is an understatement!!!!! The stain was bad.... They were khaki shorts and he had sat in chocolate the night before....:rolleyes1

Wow! I can't believe that is the service that you got. I know that we all expect the "Disney treatment" and sometimes those expectations might be high, but that situation didn't even come close to what you would think. I'm glad that you were able to find someone to listen to you! The pictures of the a/c were pretty bad!

I still cannot believe just how gross that was and that nobody else had noticed! That was the last time I used name your own price on Priceline! I have since switched to last minute travel and have no complaints, plus they are usually cheaper! I cannot wait to head back up there! Even if it is only for the day!

I was totally upset with the service as well. I wouldn't have cared if we got a refund or not..it's not like we paid hundreds for the night! I really hope that after our call to the higher ups, the hotel employees got a bit of a refresher in customer service!

It stinks that we couldn't meet up! I bet the kiddos would have had a blast together!
 
Sorry for the delay everyone! (I know I keep saying that....). Things have been crazy here! Between Halloween, soccer, swimming, ballet and life in general I haven't had a chance to breathe, let alone update! Olivia's 4th birthday is Friday and this past weekend we had her Jake and the Neverland Pirates party! She had a great time and got WAY too many gifts! I will post pics on here later. Now on to an update!

**SORRY, no pictures in this update**

When I last left off, we were in line for Test Track for Olivia and Toby's first ride ever! After about 35 minutes we got in the pre-show room and watched the video. Does anyone else think they should change that video up a bit and update it? Anyway, after zig zagging through the rest of the line it was our turn to hop in a car and test it out! Or was it? We were of coursed asked to stop and check Olivia's height on the height stick. No biggie, I figured we would be stopped. Livy tried to duck under the stick so she wouldn't boink her head. After explaining to her that it was OK for her head to touch the stick and me putting her back against it and straightening her head she looked good to go. Or not. A supervisor decided to join in. He was by far the rudest Disney CM I have ever come across in my life! He walked over, told me that I was not aloud to touch her while they were measuring and asked me to step back. This scared Livy and she kind of slunk down and the rude CM glanced at her and said "No way is she tall enough. She isn't even close, I don't know why you even tried". I was shocked! :scared1: I tried to be polite and ask him to remeasure and explain that she was tall enough at the entrance, and we had already ridden Splash and BTMRR, but he was hearing none of it and directed us out. That was it. Livy was in tears telling him that she knew she was tall enough because she had eaten lots of veggies and drank all her milk. This of course put me in tears and made Toby even more angry.

After a couple of minutes we calmed Livy down and decided to try Soarin. When we made it over there, we were once again prepared to have Olivia measured. Livy was still a bit unsure of anyone who wanted to get near her for a measurement, and pretty much refused to stand up straight and tall. So, the verdict? We got 3 CMs that said she was good to go, and one lousy one who literally SHOVED a piece of paper between the height stick and her head. Boo. No Soarin for Olivia. At least they were nice to her here, and gave her one of the Born to Soar cards which made her happy. Danelle offered to sit with Livy and let Toby and I take a quick ride over California.

We had a nice ride, and when we found Olivia and Danelle, Livy was happily munching on cotton candy and chatting up a storm. Danelle said she felt bad for her, so she bought her the cotton candy. :lovestruc

After a quick ride on Living with the Land we were all getting pretty hungry, and decided that Beaches and Cream sounded really good to all of us! We were going to walk, but Olivia insisted on riding the boat over, and we figured we could at least let her ride this one "ride" that she wanted to!

Nope, didn't complain. I didn't want to spend the time doing it, and we all just wanted to get on with things and do something fun! I am also the most non-confrontational person in the world, and didn't want to upset myself even more by complaining. I really wish I would have at least got his name and wrote an email after we got home, just to let them know. I'm just glad that kind of "service" isn't the norm at WDW!
 
I can't believe that CM said that to you!! I would have been soooo angry! :headache: Especially since you were explaining to him that she had ridden other rides.

I understand being non-confrontational, but I wish you would have taken down his name and emailed after you got home. I'm sure that he acts like that to other people too.
