Disney World? Nope! It's Worley World! Our 2011 Disney Adventures! *Updated 4/25/12*

Catching up on your TR! I've fallen so far behind on everything on here! Have fun on your girls' trip. :yay: We just got back from another overnight and the crowds were pretty awesome. Hope it keeps up while you're there!

I can't wait to see some of POR. I'm super nervous about an upcoming stay there and need to read as many happy TRs about it as I can!

Don't worry about it! I have fallen behind as well, I have read everyone's updates, but commenting on it all... :rolleyes1 I'm thinking crowds will be pretty bad (that way if I'm wrong I'll be ok with it)! I'm hoping Monday crowds might be a bit better with people leaving to head back home, but if not, oh well, at least we will be at Disney!

You will LOVE POR! I know your boys like the water area at CBR, and POR has a pretty good slide as well (it was almost impossible to get Livy off of it)! The grounds were so nice and peaceful, and we really liked the food court. I would just suggest for you guys to request a building near the parking lot since you drive to the parks, it might be a little walk if you end up in one of the interior buildings (think 60s section of POP to the parking lot). Enjoy your trip!

Sounds fun!! I guess you can make a new ticker!!!!

I'll be hopefully soaking up some sun and decide what I'm going to do with my life until July since my center is closing next week (not sure if your read my TR/PTR update).

I think I might just not have a ticker for a while....we pretty much decided to just take more, shorter length trips this year, and we really don't have any dates totally set in stone yet! I know we are going this weekend (possibly next), a couple weekends in August, a long weekend in October, a couple of days in November for Livy's birthday, and again in December, then with a few day trips filling in the blanks as well!

I did read your TR but didn't comment yet! I can't believe that! What a crappy time for that to happen! I REALLY hope everything works out for you and you get to move down here!

Olivia's shirt is adorable...too cute!

How fun that you guys get to take another trip even if it is a fairly short one.

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

I love that shirt as well-too bad she has just about outgrown it! I like how blue it makes her eyes look!

I'm glad we get to go so often, even if most of them are just for a day or two! My goal is to have the only month we miss this year be July! We missed January (but we will go next year since our passes were expired this year), we went in February, March, April, and will go this month and next for sure, so far it's looking good!

I REALLY wish I loved that close to WDW, I would be there all the time!!!!

I always say Disney is the only good thing about living in Florida! I can't find one other thing I like about this darn state!

Disney World??? You lucky girl!!!! So jealous you can decide at the last minute just to go. We will be doing the cookout thing. Oh and the zoo. OH and getting ready for my sister's visit. She hasn't been home in 6 years (she lives in Salt Lake City) so we have to get out the welcome wagon :rotfl2:

Tell Olivia that it helps to get picked for the rose if you go really early to the show and have a minor meltdown in front of the very first CM you run into before you go into the theatre (that's who picks). They will feel bad for you and pick you. That's how Aisling was picked when she was 3. :thumbsup2

We usually do the cookout at my mom's house, so she was a bit shocked when I said we wouldn't be there this year. I'm just hoping the crowds aren't too terrible! Would you believe that the only zoo Olivia has been to is AK?! We have a pretty nice one about an hour away, but have never taken her! Have fun with your sister! I'm sure she will appreciate your wagon rolling! :rotfl2:

That's a good tip! I might have to pinch her or something to make her cry! She is always more than excited when we head to the show! I just might try to get there super early and talk nice to the CMs!

LMAO can you imagine..... Honey you have been really good this trip but can you do mommy a favor and have a meltown now so we can get picked for the rose.... my kids would be laughing so hard they wouldn't be able to do it :rotfl2:

LOL! I can picture that!

I am joining in on this one! Hi!!! How are you? :flower3: I have not really been on this website in months and I am trying to get back in the habit now that the summer is coming.

I just finished reading your TR from your Christmas trip and it was so fun to read. I appreciated the links to that I could buzz right through it & get caught up. I love the idea of a year long TR. Soo jealous that you are so close to WDW and can go spur of the moment.

I am still planning on writing a TR of our trip...it's only been 6 months. lol. I just lost my motivation and then my job got really busy. I really want to do one though, so it's just a matter of getting started.

By the way, we stayed at POR for our trip and LOVED it. Of course, it was our first time staying on property so I had nothing to compare it to. I would definitely stay there again. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear more about your trip.

After our quick bus ride, we arrived at the West Depot of Port Orleans Riverside, and hopped off and made our way to the car to get all of our suitcases and bags out and take them to the room. We always make it a goal to get everything to the room in one trip. *I should mention that we had 3 carry-on size suitcases, 2 big reusable bags of food and drinks, a big bag of Olivia's "stuff", the laptop bag, the portable DVD player bag, and a stroller. Once again, I'm not sure how, but we managed to get in all in one trip!

044.jpg

I have to say, I really loved the room! Toby was equally impressed, and Olivia loved that she had her own "little bed"! While I unpacked quickly, Olivia was exploring the room and Toby was laying down...must be nice! I finally got everything put away and broke the news to Olivia that she needed to take a nap, or at least lay down and rest for a bit. Finally, after telling her that if she took a nap we would go to the pool, she fell asleep by 3:00 and slept for about an hour. When she woke up, she was crying her eyes out...:guilty: Poor little lady had an accident (I couldn't even tell you the last time that happened at nap time), and was super upset with herself. After I got her cleaned up and into her bathing suit, I realized that she had manged to not only soak her clothes, but her blanket and stuffed animals as well. After a quick call to house-keeping, they brought a clean sheet and took the yucky one away.

Once we were all settled, we headed out to the main pool for some swimming. The weather this afternoon was in the mid 70s with a great breeze so it was beautiful outside! (Man, does that sound great now)! We put our things in a couple of chairs and Toby took Livy into the water while I searched for a life jacket for her. I thought this would be an easy task. I. Was. Wrong! I asked a life guard and he told me that I had to go to the main building to the gift shop to get one. Ok, that sounded a bit weird, but he worked there so he must know what he was talking about. I trekked over and went in the shop and asked a CM who looked at me like I had 3 heads. Great. She said that at POFQ you could pick up the life jackets in the gift shop, but not here. In fact, she didn't even think they had life jackets here and that I would have to go to POFQ to even get one! Now, I know that I had read that every single resort had life jackets. On my way out I saw a family with a little one and they had a life jacket so I asked them where they had gotten it. They nicely directed me to the marina where all I had to do was give them my room number and check-out date and we could keep the jacket until check-out. Whew, finally.

I made my way back to the pool and found Toby and Olivia playing in the water. My plan was to stick the life jacket on Liv and head to find the laundry room and wash the yucky clothes, blanket and stuffed animals while they swam. Toby had other plans. He was too cold so he said he would go ot the laundry while I swam. That was fine with me. I hopped in and we swam for about 20 seconds before Olivia was begging for the slide. Hmm, how was this going to work? I knew I couldn't go down with her, I wasn't going to walk her up there and then have her slide down with nobody to catch her, I wasn't going to send her up alone and wait at the bottom. I made my decision. I was going to be a rule breaker and slide down with her! Olivia absolutely LOVED it! I of course was scolded when as I climbed out of the water, but it was worth it! Of course she wanted to go again, but I wasn't about to break the rules again and risk getting kicked out!

About that time, Toby came back.....still holding the bag of dirty laundry! He said he couldn't find the laundry. GRR! Oh well, this meant Toby could take Livy up and down the steps of the slide while I waited at the bottom! We did this for quite a while, Olivia probably went down the slide about 10 times.

Finally at about 5:15 it was starting to get chilly with the breeze and the sun going down so I was the mean mommy and called it quits. Olivia was of course not a happy camper, but she got over it when I told her we would play on the the playground later on.

We made our way back to the room and got out of our bathing suits and into clothes. While Toby and Olivia were lounging, I went and did the laundry. By 6:45 I was done and we were off to the Riverside Mill for some dinner!

045.jpg

I ordered the fish basket:

Toby got the Roast Beef and Blue Cheese on Ciabatta:

Olivia got chicken nuggets:
048.jpg

Everything was really good. Toby was in love with his sandwich. He loves roast beef and blue cheese, so this was pretty much heaven to him. My fish was really good as well, not at all greasy and there wasn't too much batter. Our total was $23.08

After dinner we took Olivia to the playground as promised and she and Toby had a great time playing until about 8:20.

049.jpg

After playtime, it was bedtime! Olivia was asleep by 9:00, Toby was out by 9:30, and I took that time to pack up and get ready for our next day. I finally fell asleep around 10:30.

Up next: Animal Kingdom!

What a nice end to the day (minus the laundry part)! Poor little thing. Dylan has not had a lot of accidents since we finished potty training but when he does, he gets so upset!

That pool is so much fun and the playground is the perfect size for little kids. It's nice that you got to bed at a decent time that night so you would feel rested the next day.

Great update! i love POR, it is my favorite mod!!! sorry you had to go on a wild goose chase for a life jacket!

William loves the slides too. We get season passes to our local waterpark and he is so good on the slides, in fact this last weekend, i just stood at the bottom of the huge kids play area and kept an eye on him and let him climb all over by himself and go down the big slides. He has been doing the bigger slides since last year, but usually i would go up with him while DH waited at the bottom. I was comfortable letting him go up there on his own and he finally understands the concept of waiting in line too (which he didn't last year). so i would watch him from the ground, waiting in line and would be there as he came down. The slides don't empty into a pool though, so he just climbs out of the slide when done at our waterpark. he loves it! we are going to try Blizzard Beach and the pool at Bay Lake in October. I can't wait!

sorry she had an accident too. i hate when that happens! can't wait for the next installment.

That butterfinger muffin was insane! I can't get over how big those are.. We definitely need to stay away from Starring Rolls! Sounds like a fun day, minus the accident. I can imagine how upest she must've been. :sad1:

Rule breaker!! I think the fun was worth getting in trouble just that once. ;) What a headache over the life jacket anyway, but something I'm glad I know to think about before we get there.

Can't wait to read about AK!

Nice report of por! Haha u should have gone on dis about the life jacket. You probably would have gotten a quicker response but who would have thought it would be that hard! You got it all figured out and that's good! Did u check for bed bugs!? Lol.

Hi Guys! Just wanted to give you a quick life update. First off, the reason for no updates yet this week is that we are house/pet sitting about 30 minutes from home and I forgot to bring my trip journal with me! :scared1: I have to stop home today on my way to work, so I will grab it and do an update either tonight or tomorrow. Also tonight, Olivia starts cheerleading! She is quite excited to be allowed to yell and jump around without getting in trouble! In other news, Olivia once again has her standard sinus/double ear infection. It started Sunday night after I put her to bed. She woke up crying about every 30 minutes, coughing, runny nose and saying her ear hurt. We went to the doctor Monday afternoon and got some lovely Augmentin, which is horrible tasting and a pain to get in her twice a day! She is feeling much better and acting herself. Lucky for me, she is a really good sick kid. She never really acts sick and is usually her happy little self. Yesterday I managed to sneak in a little nap while Livy was napping and I woke up feeling HORRIBLE! I checked my temp and it was 101.5! I NEVER get sick! I was pretty much a bum the rest of the day and when I woke up this morning felt just fine! Whew! Being sick was not an option because Olivia and I are going to squeeze in one last girls day before our passes black out for the summer! We are either heading up Friday and coming home Saturday night or heading up Sunday afternoon and coming back on Monday. Probably Friday though since Livy has swimming lessons on Monday morning and I don't really want her to miss that. Why are we going you might ask? Well, we plan on doing some bad dancing! You have probably seen the home video the Wolf family made of their trip to Orlando a couple of years ago (if not you should! Search "The Wolfs Dance Orlando" on YouTube), and they are back again making another trip video and this time they are looking for other DISers to dance with them! Olivia watches all of their videos constantly so she is pretty excited!

Well, that catches you up here! I'll be back tonight or tomorrow with a real update for you!

Glad you're both feeling better! That didn't sound fun at all!

Have a great time on your before blackout girls' trip. We'll just miss each other. The boys' birthday trip starts Sunday. I'll be watching for you in the next Wolf family video. Their first was fun to watch!

Can't wait to read some more of your WDW fun!

The Wolfs are at WDW right now!!!! Stacy saw them at SAB. They are staying at the BC. She said that they look kinda boring when they are not dancing :rotfl2:

I am not sure how I have missed this TR but I have found it now and I am on board!!!! Can't wait to hear every detail!!!

Hi everyone! I'm back! After about a month of no updates I'm back! I would have been back sooner, but I misplaces my TR notebook so I couldn't update without that, then when I found it the other day my TR was closed to posting and moved to completed so I had to wait to have it opened back up!

Well, I'm back now and I promise to have an update tomorrow! I'm in the middle of a bad sewing project right now, then I have to make dinner and pick up the house!

How has everyone been?

After a relaxing evening the night before, and everyone getting a pretty good nights sleep, Olivia was up at 7:00, which means I was also up at 7:00. We decided to be quiet and let Toby sleep in for a little bit, so I turned on the TV for Livy while I started to get ready. By 7:20, I was ready so I turned my attention to Olivia who was engrossed in something on Disney Junior. I managed to get her dressed, and combed her hair while she was in her television coma. By 7:45 Livy and I were eating breakfast: some yummy homemade banana bread and OJ. At 8:00 I sent Livy to jump on daddy to wake him up! Let's just say this isn't his favorite way to wake up!

Finally by 9:00 we were ready to head out for the morning. We walked over to the West Depot and only had a short wait for a bus to AK.

We arrived at AK by 9:30 and headed right to our favorite thing at AK....Festival of the Lion King!!!! We seriously LOVE this show!!! We have seen it every single time we have been to AK! We have also been lucky enough to sit in the front row every single time we have been! This time was no exception! As usual, the show was amazing!

Once again, they asked Olivia if she wanted to participate in the show! She didn't seem to be as excited this time, but she got up and did it. You can tell from the pictures that she was a bit nervous this time around.

059.jpg

After a quick potty stop, we started to make our way to Africa for a nice safari ride. I have to say, this was one of the best safari's we have ever been on! We got front row seats, we saw TONS of animals and our guide was great! After our 2 week safari was cut short, we headed out of Africa and Livy and I tried our hardest to convince Toby we should go for a ride on Kali River, but he was having no part of it! Instead we ran into Terk with no line! Now, Livy has NO idea who Terk is, but he was a character of some sort and that was good enough for her!

061.jpg

Up next we decided to hit the 11:45 Finding Nemo show. The only other time we have seen it was on Olivia's first trip when she was 15 months old-and we were not fans then. We only went this time because Olivia was BEGGING to go! I'm glad we went, because she sure did LOVE the whole show! Of course Toby and I had the darn song stuck in our head all day! I guess we would see this again, just for Livy, but I think FotLK is MUCH better!

By now it was about 12:30 and we started heading out. The plan was to head back to POR and change clothes and figure out a lunch plan.

Up next: Where should we go for lunch?

By 1:00 we were back at POR and had changed clothes and ready to feed our hungry stomachs! After a few minutes I had figured it out! Lets take advantage of the resort amenities and take a nice boat ride to Downtown Disney and grab a bite there! That plan worked for Toby, so we were off.

It was a really nice ride and we all enjoyed the nice, quiet time. We failed to decide on a restaurant on the way over, so now we had another dilemma. I wanted Earle of Sandwich, but Toby wanted a sit down. I figured I would give in since he does put up with my WDW addiction. Now, which sit down? Toby is in LOVE with Planet Hollywood, and I cannot stand it. He was nice enough to say no to that one. I didn't really feel like walking all the way to the West Side, so that left us......Rainforest Cafe. We have eaten here in the past and I can take it or leave it. Yes, the atmosphere is pretty neat, but the prices are nuts! For some reason I have NO pictures of our lunch, but luckily I wrote down what we ate! Toby had a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a Coke to drink. Livy had chicken nuggets with corn and lemonade to drink, and I had a turkey wrap with fries and a Diet Coke to drink. Our total came to $50.41 and we left a $10 tip.

Now that our bellies were full and it was almost 3:30 it was time to figure out our next plan of action. After some different ideas floating around, we decided to head to Epcot. Hmm how to get there? Since we were in no hurry, and had decided to just kind of go with the flow for this trip, we decided to walk over to Saratoga Springs and grab a bus there. It was a nice little walk, and Olivia loved being able to run on the sidewalk without us yelling at her to watch out for other people since there were no other people!

After a nice ride, we had arrived at Epcot, and headed over to the Land pavilion. We figured we could see if Olivia had made any progress in her quest to be tall enough to ride Soarin, and take a ride on Living with the Land since our little munchkin loves that one as well. As far as the 40inch mark, poor Livy was still just a bit too short. Thankfully she was ok with that since we were going to go on the "vegetable boat".

Once we finished up, we were off for a treat!

063.jpg

064.jpg

He is going to kill me for posting that one!

065.jpg

My rootbeer float-it was yummy!

After we finished up our treats, I wanted to head over to Mousegears to look around for a bit. On the way Toby got pooped on by a not so nice bird! Let me tell you, I was nearly on the ground, wetting my pants I was in such hysterics, while he was trying not to use every word in the book! :rotfl::rotfl2::laughing: I'm not sure if he was more upset at getting pooped on or the fact that I was finding it SO funny! Once I managed to calm down a bit, I got a baby wipe out of the bag so he could clean himself up and we could move on.

By the time I was done looking around Mousegears it was getting late so we decided to make our way out. Olivia decided that she HAD to ride SpaceShip Earth before we left, and who were we to say no? So ride it we did. By now it was 6:30 and we were finally on our way back to the buses to head back to POR for the night.

Once we arrived, we headed to the Riverside Mill and got some rations:

Our total for a cheese pizza, 2 mugs, 1 brownie, and 1 magic cookie bar was $50.34. We hauled it all back to the room to eat there. It was really nice to just be able to relax and eat since it was about 7:30 already. The pizza was pizza, it wasn't terrible and it wasn't super delicious. The desserts were both quite yummy!

By 8:30 we had all showered and by 8:40 Olivia was asking to go to bed!

Up next: Magic Kingdom!

Your Ak day sounds like a lot of fun, I love her skirt...too cute!

The pizza and desserts look really good, and I love the look of the new mugs

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

nice updates!!!!

The food looks yummy but I'm not a Disney Pizza type of girl but those desserts looked amazing!!!!

Sounds like a fun day :)

Enjoyed your update:goodvibes
We love the AK and the FOTLK show as well as Nemo. My dd3 loves them both equally...they are such different shows and both so well done. My oldest dd21 was in the FOTLK show twice back in 1999. My mom was with us in a wheelchair and we saw the show twice that week and they picked my dd each time since we were in the front.
We ate at the RFC (at AK) on our trip last month, and I agree the prices were very high. It had been a few years since we had eaten there, but I think it is way overpriced.
We always order pizza from an offsite place (like Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, etc)at least once when we are at Disney. Im not too fond of their pizza (although I LOVE that pizza box) or their prices so we choose off site places.
Cant wait to read more on your trip:thumbsup2

And did you end up seeing the Wolfes? We were there the same time and were looking for them, but never saw them. We made a video of our trip and wanted them in ours....oh well.

Yeah! Thanks for sticking around after my lack of posting for a month! I always seem to love our AK days even though it never seems like we really do anything! I can't wait until Livy is tall enough for Everest!

The desserts were really yummy! I actually discovered that the WL has the magic cookie bars as well! I had one when we went in May and it was just as yummy! I like the new mugs as well! They just seem more girly to me. Toby is just excited that they have one with a black lid now! We already have 3 of them, and it looks like we will be getting 3 more next month since I have the quick service dining booked as of now.

nice updates!!!!

Yeah, the pizza was nothing to write home about, but it hit the spot after a long day. I could go for a cookie bar right about now!

So, now that you are in this horrible state....when are you heading this way :rolleyes1

Thanks to you for sticking around as well!

How cool that your DD got picked twice in a week for FotLK! Livy loved it in December, but wasn't too thrilled that time.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks RFC is just kinda ehhh and overpriced! I think the only reason that we ended up getting pizza from the food court is because it was already getting late and we didn't feel like waiting for delivery....and the cute box!

We did end up meeting up with the Wolfs! That whole weekend trip was totally nuts (not in a good way), but all Olivia had wanted to do was get to dance with them so it was all good in her book! That will be an interesting few updates to say the least....

Glad to see you're back and all is well. I'd wondered what happened to you!

Great AK day! How awesome on getting the front row everytime. How'd ya manage that one? I have to admit I'm on the other side though. Nemo is my AK favorite! Glad Olivia loved it!

I'm a crazy person...do you know what pic got me the most excited? The resort mugs :rotfl2: I am so excited to get our first ever resort mugs because 1) they "go" with our resort choice and 2) because we are staying long enough to utilize the mugs!!!!
