Disney World? Nope! It's Worley World! Our 2011 Disney Adventures! *Updated 4/25/12*

I didn't know about SWW when I first booked the trip so hopefully it will not be to crazy. My DS is going to be nine (just me and him this trip) so I think we will be OK. Taking all the kids (DS9, DD5, DS3, and DS1 (preemie)) would have driven me absolutly crazy in the SWW madness.:upsidedow

Ok just had to comment that SWW will be BEYOND packed Memorial Day weekend. Please be prepared. It's like a wall of people. If your son would like to do the Jedi Training, plan on being at rope drop SUPER early and running immediately there. We were at rope drop an hour early last Memorial Day Wknd and while we got into Jedi Training, we didn't get in until the 2:15 show (they fill up all the shows first thing in the morning). Feel free to check out my TR from last year's SWW http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2480447 We did not prepare for the crowds so we were shocked. We also had assumed that DHS would be packed but didn't plan on the other parks being equally as insane. I had never seen the parks at a level 10. I don't want you to think you won't have a great trip...you will but be prepared for wall to wall people.

OK...onto Erin. What is up with the pictureless update??????? I'll let it slide. This time :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Day 2: February 28, 2011

After a rough night, I was really unsure about the 7:00 wake up, but thank goodness Olivia was her normal, happy self when she woke up!!! I was so relieved! I was thinking we were going to spend the day sitting in the hotel! Here she was, being her silly self:
009.jpg

After showering and packing up the overnight bag, we headed out of the Radisson and up the road for the breakfast of champions....Waffle House! Let me just say, I had never been to a Waffle House in my life before I met Toby. We went there on a date night once (romantic, I know), and I have been hooked ever since! We really don't go all that often, but when we go, we love it! We had been to this particular WH last year for Toby's birthday, so we headed there again. We arrived at 8:20 and were seated right away, and ordered our food right away since we get the same thing every time we go. After 15 minutes we still didn't have our drinks. :headache: Finally after 35 minutes we got our food and drinks. I have to say, this was the most unfriendly server I have ever seen in my life!!!! She pretty much threw our food on the table and walked away! By this point, Toby and I were pretty darn mad, but we were determined to have a nice trip, so we just ate our food and didn't complain. When the lovely server tossed the check on the table, I grabbed it and went to pay while Toby cleaned Olivia up and took her potty. When I was asked how our meal was, I said the food was good and the service was horrible. The response I got was "oh". Yep, that's it, just "oh". Needless to say, we did not leave a tip, and have decided to cross that Waffle House off of our dining list for Orlando. By now it was 9:15 and we had fun waiting for us!

We hopped in the car and headed towards WDW so we could check-in at our new hotel!

We parked the car and headed inside to check-in. I had requested the Alligator Bayou section, first floor. I was really hoping to get AB since they have the trundle beds and that way neither of us would have to share a bed with Octopus Olivia! Once again, I did not to online check-in, and once again I had no regrets! Besides, if I did online check-in, Olivia wouldn't be able to play in line!
015.jpg

After a couple of minutes, we were called to the window and had an awesome CM! She said that she saw I had requested AB 1st floor and was going to try and get me in! After a couple of minutes she said she had a AB room on the 2nd floor that was ready now, or we could wait and get a 1st floor room later. Hmmm. What to do? What to do? I decided that it was worth the wait for the 1st floor room. With all of our stuff and the stroller, and no elevators in the AB rooms, the 1st floor would be SO much easier!

We were given our building number (26) and told where to park, so we headed towards the West Depot and parked in front of building 34. After getting what we would need for the day out of the car, we headed towards the bus stop and waited for a DHS bus to come! After about 5 minutes one came and we were off!

Up next: Morning at DHS!

I love Riverside and can't wait to stay there sometime!!!

I hope you took lots of pictures!!!

i hate parking at DTD, it is ALWAYS a nightmare unless you are there right at opening. And given we like to rent a car and drive, we are almost always driving there. We've driven around for like 20 minutes before. it's just crazy sometimes and you literally have to 'stalk people' going back to their cars. I never do that, i just usually park far away and walk, but sometimes at DTD, that isn't even an option!

I love the AB side of POR, my favorite mod!! i see Olivia's cage necklace in the last pic? so cute!;)

Wow! That is a crazy first night!!!!!!

DTD can be NUTS on Fri, Sat, and Sun. When I lived there, I NEVER went to DTD on those days unless it was something I needed badly and I would always go early in the morning!! I don't blame you on McD's haha. Was it the one across from DTD?? You can count that as a "disney McDs" hehe.

DTD was so nuts, but I didn't want to waste time in the morning getting our passes at a park, and since we weren't staying on WDW property that night we didn't have a parking pass, and I wasn't going to pay $14 to park just to get passes!

Unfortunately, the McDs that we went to was not on property, lol! It was on 192!

I'm new to your report! DTD is insane at night. I'm a FGIT at the DTD BBB and when I'm there til 10 some nights, the World of Disney store is mobbed!

:welcome: Glad to have you! Now I have 2 BBB CMs on here! I really wish we had a good one on our December trip...oh well maybe this year!

popcorn:: joining in popcorn::

:welcome:

Oh no, what a horrible first night. Hope she gets better after that night!

Thank goodness the next morning was much better!

OK...onto Erin. What is up with the pictureless update??????? I'll let it slide. This time :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Thanks Kristine! That will be the one and only update with no pictures!

Don't know if I should say this...but I didn't take a ton of pictures! I took a few, but I was more focused on family time on that trip.

DTD parking is always crazy! I think the only lots that are pretty empty are the ones on the Westside by Cirque, and I refuse to park there!

We definitely enjoyed POR and AB!

I didn't even notice Livy's necklace until you mentioned it! She loves that thing!

Joining in!

:welcome: Glad to have you here!

Yay for the room request!!!

I'll have to scope out the map to see where your room was located since I haven't stayed at POR in years!!!

Can't wait to see how Olivia liked the little bed :)

Olivia's eyes look so blue in those pics!!! Aisling said "oh my friend has blue eye like me"

That's too bad that your first meal of your vacation ended up being such a disappointment, hopefully this didn't continue one you were on WDW property.

I love the pic of Olivia with the stickers all over her face...too cute.

Yah for having your room requests met:goodvibes

When I last left off we were on a bus to DHS for some fun!

We arrived at DHS at 10:30 and made it in pretty quickly. Our first stop was Guest Relations to renew our GAC. Once that was quickly taken care of, we asked Olivia what she wanted to do and it was TSM. She LOVES this ride and would ride it all day if she could. The wait was surprisingly low for it being almost 11:00!

017.jpg

After our super fun ride on TSM, we checked the wait time to meet Buzz and Woody (which we have never done), and it was 35 minutes, so we decided to pass on that. Instead, Olivia needed some Mickey time! Off to see Mickey and Lotso! I'm pretty sure that the waits for these guys were our longest of the day! ...And long waits make Olivia act SILLY!

019.jpg

021.jpg

Finally, after all that waiting it was time for the Main Mouse himself! (I don't think the silly had worn off yet...)

022.jpg

023.jpg

After Mickey, I figured we should say hi to Lotso one last time before he left his M&G to be replaced by Pooh. Once again, the waiting was silly!

I managed to snag a few pics of the line. The details here were so cute!

Finally our turn!

033.jpg

032.jpg

On the way out, Olivia spotted something she HAD to have! It was as little stuffed Daisy! She had every other stuffed animal (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto), but we had never seen Daisy before. I was almost as excited as she was! We went ahead and bought it ($11.45).

By this time it was a about 11:30 and we were all getting a little bit hungry. We weren't really wanting a full meal, so we headed to Starring Rolls Cafe. I had one thing on my mind...can you guess what it was?

Toby wanted the Turkey Focaccia:
035.jpg

Olivia wanted "the strawberry pudding" (Strawberry parfait)
034.jpg

I wanted....do you really even need me to type it out?.... BUTTERFINGER CUPCAKE!!!
036.jpg

After getting drinks for everyone, the total came to $25.08

037.jpg

Our next move ended up being the Beauty and the Beast show that was at 12:45. By the time we finished up eating and headed into the theater it was only about 12:25 or so. Guess that means we will get good seats for once! We actually did get good seats! About 3 rows back just off the center section!

While we waited, we all took turns playing with the camera:
038.jpg

039.jpg

Right on cue at 12:45, the show started and Olivia was in a trance!
041.jpg

I have to say, for the show only being around 20 minutes, they really get pretty much the whole story in! Olivia loved the show as always, but she was sad that she didn't get the rose at the end. She said next time we HAVE to make sure it is her turn to get it!

After slowly making our way out of the theater and hitting the potties, I realized that I had a text that our room was ready! Yeah!

We walked towards the buses and only had to wait a few minutes before one for POR came!

Up next: Our room and a nice afternoon!

Hi guys! Just wanted to say sorry it took me so long to get another post up! Things have been nuts here! Olivia finished up her first soccer season and loved every minute of it! Up next is cheerleading over the summer (along with continuing with ballet and swimming).

In other exciting news, we are going to Disney this weekend! Some friends of ours also have passes, so we are heading up with them. Toby doesn't want to go this trip, and our friend's husband is out of town so it will be a girls only trip! I have to work until noon on Sunday and then we are heading up right from there and coming home Monday night. It's just a quick trip, but it should be fun! What is everyone else doing for Memorial day?

Catching up on your TR! I've fallen so far behind on everything on here! Have fun on your girls' trip. :yay: We just got back from another overnight and the crowds were pretty awesome. Hope it keeps up while you're there!

I can't wait to see some of POR. I'm super nervous about an upcoming stay there and need to read as many happy TRs about it as I can!

Sounds fun!! I guess you can make a new ticker!!!!

I'll be hopefully soaking up some sun and decide what I'm going to do with my life until July since my center is closing next week (not sure if your read my TR/PTR update).

Olivia's shirt is adorable...too cute!

How fun that you guys get to take another trip even if it is a fairly short one.

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

Disney World??? You lucky girl!!!! So jealous you can decide at the last minute just to go. We will be doing the cookout thing. Oh and the zoo. OH and getting ready for my sister's visit. She hasn't been home in 6 years (she lives in Salt Lake City) so we have to get out the welcome wagon :rotfl2:

Tell Olivia that it helps to get picked for the rose if you go really early to the show and have a minor meltdown in front of the very first CM you run into before you go into the theatre (that's who picks). They will feel bad for you and pick you. That's how Aisling was picked when she was 3. :thumbsup2
