Disney Wonder September 3, 2012. Seattle to Vancouver 7 night Alaska Cruise!

The FE list has been updated. I literally emailed the gal coordinating it last night with our cabin information and she replied back this morning.
It is a small list but it is still on : )

Anyone heard anything about the FE? I've been thinking about gifts, but the last list I got had people who aren't on the cruise anymore. :confused3[/QUOTE]

Glad to hear that! We've only done one other cruise and the person running that FE sent out weekly updates. I imagine as we get closer, we'll get more updates. How many cabins were on it? I'm coming up with too many ideas! :lmao:

I don't know that there has been a new cabin list posted in recent weeks, but I know she is keeping track : )

I know the list is still small, something like 7 cabins with about 17 people was what I last read. Maybe we need to do one last push for participants as final payments dates draw closer? LOL

OK - I just finished the ENTIRE Seattle thread - whew! - and now it's on to this full thread and, eventually, the Vancouver thread. By the time September 3rd gets here, I will be all informed (and bleary eyed).

Can't wait to meet everyone and conquer Alaska!

Do they still do Pirates in Alaska? As in do you all plan to dress up? LOL

I was concerned about this too, especially after the first cruises came back and the said that it felt out of place in Alaska. So I asked if people still got into it, and they said yes! My DH and DS are wearing pirate costumes (I so want to post the pic of my DS trying his on!) that we got from a Halloween store on amazon. I think I am going to wear a pirate shirt, bandana, etc... But not go all out. But I was concerned that DS and DH would look crazy if they were the only ones dressed up, so I am glad other people do! So if you all do, you can at least know that my family is, too! ;)

Btw, I saw your thread on the main board about your adoption, congrats!! My DS is also adopted, and we are in the process of trying to adopt again, so I love a good adoption story :woohoo:

The one thing I would make sure of, regardless of vendor, is that you can return the car on Labor Day, since that's when we will be departing, or if you'll need to make arrangements the day before.

Okay somehow I did not realize until just now that we are leaving on Labor Day. I guess we sure aren't laboring, and are celebrating it right, ;)

Now for my good news....

DS had an appointment at Seattle Cildren's Hospital today (our second home ;)) and afterwards I took him to see the "Mickey Boat" at Smith Cove Park! We are taking a picnic dinner down there later! It is a great view, and I literally squealed when I saw it! Can't wait to go back and watch sail away in a couple hours!

Also.......
I just paid my cruise off!!!! (and bought my travel insurance just before, to make sure we get pre-existing coverage)! I am SOOOO excited!! This feels so real now! So I will be online and ready at 9:00 on June 19th to book Palo! ;)

Now I am just waiting for my GTY assignment and we are good to go!

Hi all! Has anyone else called to ask about dining rotations? Did you put in a request? I'm not sure which rotation we want. I'm so afraid of missing something! :rotfl:

Jenf22 - I put in a request for dining rotation #3 which is PTTAPTA. It worked best with our Palo reservation and puts us in Parrot Cay on Pirate Night. No telling if I'll get it, but we'll see.

I put in for the rotation with three runs at Animator's Palate--it's DD's favorite of the three, and we are going for her 16th birthday-acceptance to college cruise.

Hi Mellers,

I forget everyone's everything here, so hard to keep track. But I do remember you mentioning the WA state program. We have lived between Los Angeles and Spokane for several years and our older girls do Running Start. LOL The only child coming on this cruise is our newly 10 year old. I don't expect a large number of playmates, but that is OK. I do keep asking... just in case I find someone before cruise time. LOL I am pretty sure she will me some children on this trip as she is good with younger and older kids as well. And if not, so be it. It is a family vacation after all : )

We

There are still a lot of homeschoolers in the area, and I've no doubt there will be other kids on the ship, in all age groups. I'll bet your daughter has a great time.

When did you call? When I called, they told me the rotations were:

1) TAPTAPT
2) APTAPTA
3) PTAPTAP

The agent told me our cruise had different rotations than the Seattle to Seattle cruise. I hope she's wrong. I want PTTAPTA too! We were in Parrot Cay for Pirate night on our Bahama cruise and it was fun! Plus, I like the idea of Triton's on Formal Night.

When does everyone dine? Main or second? We're main.

Would someone mind educating me on the dining rotations? I understand how they work, just not on which one I might one to request or if I should even request at all. LOL We have never cruised with Disney so we really would not know any better, so maybe it does not matter? We are doing main seating. Even though our ten year old is a night owl and could have done late seating, I was hoping more families with kids would choose the earlier time so we went with that. Any suggestions? Or should I just go with what they give us?

We are planning to let them pick for us. I guess because we haven't gone before, they are all great to us, so it doesn't make much of a difference to us.

Woo hoo! Just got flights for $99 each way! For those that don't have flights yet, Southwest is doing a 72 hour fall sale. Frontier looks like they've followed suit!

The only reason the dining rotations matter is for Palo. If you're having your "adults only" dinner in Palo, you miss the regular dining room. There is a show in Animator's Palate and they only do that the first time through with a normal menu. So here's an example of what I'm hoping for:

Night 1 - Parrot Cay - normal menu
Night 2 - Tritons - Formal night/Captain's Gala (special menu, all restaurants the same)
Night 3 - Tritons - normal menu (Palo for us)
Night 4 - Animator's Palate - normal menu, show with Sorcerer Mickey
Night 5 - Parrot Cay - Pirate Night (special menu, all restaurants the same)
Night 6 - Tritons - normal menu
Night 7 - Animator's Palate - Semi formal night/'Till We Meet Again (special menu, all restaurants the same)

So, ideally, I want to not miss any of the special menus or any of the regular menus. That means I want to schedule Palo for a "repeat" night. Does that make sense? Someone let me know if I'm wrong! I know it complicates things, but I just don't want to miss anything! :thumbsup2

Great about the tickets, :thumbsup2

That makes sense about the dnnning rotation too, if you are planning palo, or like Mellers said, that her dd loves AP. :thumbsup2 I think we aren't planning a palo dinner (just brunch), and we don't have a favorite yet... So this will be our chance to pick one for the next time!! ;)

Look who I found in Seattle yesterday!

DS kept pointing at it and yelling "YAY!!!!" :rotfl:

Then we watched her sail away, and he waved them off :) I loved that you could hear the sail away party, and horn :cloud9:

apparently because the weather was so good they did do sail away outside! :thumbsup2

Such great pictures! So cool! :cool1::cool1:

I'm so excited, I can't contain myself. I keep reading the trip reports from the recent cruises and then I call my husband at work to tell him there's more pictures! I especially like the "without Flip Flops" one. Just today she posted pictures from the excursion we're doing in Skagway. I was so excited, I jumped on the phone and made the reservation!

Just a couple more things to get settled - like a hotel in Seattle - and then every thing will be set.

Just one more week until you guys can book stuff! I imagine you're busting at the seams too :rotfl:
