Mid-week 2-night stay next June. (I'll book at AKL, home resort, then try to move it at 7 months.) I'll be solo, rejuvenating after a business conference in Orlando. No parks, just relaxation, pool time, good food and good drinks. I want to stay at a DVC resort I haven't before. So that limits me to Poly, Grand Floridian, Riviera, Beach Club, and Boulder Ridge.

What would you choose, and why?

While I haven't stayed at Grand Floridian, I would choose that. Lots of good restaurants and lounges and a spa, if you decide to partake. The large pool seemed a lot more relaxed than the both the main pool and the DVC area pool at the Polynesian.

Based on your trip goals, I'd go with the Poly. It has the most relaxing atmosphere of the resorts you listed, and access via monorail to additional options for food and drink at GF and CR. The evening outdoor seating at Wailulu or Trader Sam's is also very relaxing with the tiki torches and the MK lights across the lagoon. Runner up choice for chill atmosphere would be Boulder Ridge and Geyser Point.

GF is a front-runner. Good to hear about your pool recommendation.

Ooh, I hadn't thought about Geyser Point! Have only been there once or twice, and it was lovely! But that wasn't in late June. . .🥵

For June, I’d try for Boulder Ridge. We did Copper Creek in April & now trying Boulder Ridge. First time nearly matched our request of top 5th floor for a booked 1 Bedroom. (Just two of us so didn’t care about lack of murphy bed).

Two nights before a cruise. Landed yesterday and received room notification. First time ever upgraded. 5th floor dedicated 2 bedroom! It turned out to be an accessible but a great layout! Can try all three beds like Goldilocks. Using it all. (Two showers, the soaker tub, three huge TV’s).

Choosing Boulder Ridge for you for the atmosphere in summer. With the scenery and A/C, it will psychologically feel like a cooler retreat.

I do not find Poly or beach club to be relaxing. Grand flo while busy can be relaxing, but my money would be on Boulder Ridge or Riviera.

Both of those have great quick service options with geyser point and Primo Priato and relaxing quiet pools with brv having the free cabanas.

Hopefully the shampoo & conditioner are mounted at a useable level in the tub with no shower. At VB they had them mounted up high for people who could stand while taking a shower although there was not a shower as the roll in shower was in the other room

I'd vote for a Lake view room at VGF-in the "old" part, not the resort studios. I splurged and stayed there solo in the summer. The only time I left the room was to eat, and there were plenty of options. Watched the goings on on the water all day, and at night I could see the MK fireworks and Electric Water Pagent.
Beach Club Villas is another good option, a little more available for eating options, and the Boardwalk Villas has a great community hall available all day.
