Disney Wonder September 3, 2012. Seattle to Vancouver 7 night Alaska Cruise!

:cool2: The Wonder is getting ready to leave! The smokestack is puffing!

Also, turns out you can enlarge the view to just one camera:

I CAN'T WAIT! I'm especially anxious to get to the port next Monday and hopefully upgrade...

I would love it if I could upgrade too, but since it's DVC I don't think they will. I'm stuck down in the crew quarters. :rotfl2:

And using your link, you can dbl click a camera to enlarge it also.

Yeah, I'm realizing how ridiculous I sound, "Oh poor me, I have an aft verandah on a lower deck that's larger and might shake a little more..." when some people are going to be in seriously noisy cabins. :rolleyes1 But even with VGT pricing, this is not a cheap vacation, and I'd hate to be grumpy all the time because I can't sleep.

I'm not planning to mention the VGT thing when I look into upgrades, just "how much to upgrade from my current cabin to a cat 5A (or whatever)?" Hopefully it will never come up. :scared:

Has anyone ever upgraded at the port to a 1 bedroom concierge??? I see there are some left and was wondering what kind of discounts they might have. We were thinking of asking at the port, but now I'm reading most those cabins have solid wall verandahs and they're right under Beach Blanket. Doesn't that seem like they would be loud? And with the white wall verandah, Ryan wouldn't be able to see. Why would people pay so much to be under the buffet??? :confused3

I missed the Wonder leave, but I saw her this morning. Thanks for the links!

Due to my previous experience I would recommend keeping your onboard acct set up as cash and not putting a set amount ahead of time. You can still pay it off at any time during the cruise with a credit card and check you balance whenever you feel like it. Just go to guest services. If you don't use all of the credit you put ahead of time it takes about 5 weeks for them to refund you any credit after you disembark. It involves calling the cruise line. Who then have to contact the ship by email and so on.

Thank you!! I will keep it as is and just check it. I was hoping it would keep us from over spending, but if it's a hassle I will just keep track! :)

We watched her sail away several times this summer and I wanted to go today but we just had too much going on :( oh well.....I'll sure be there next time! ;)

 Poor thing. :sad2: Praying this gets easily resolved and you have a spectacular vaction with us! :thumbsup2

I can relate with last minute stress, although, not quite as great in comparision to your situation. I came home on Friday from a miserable workday and got a bill from an urgent care facility I went to in June. They said the insurance company didn't respond to the claim and I needed to pick up the remaining tab. Upon seeing the amount, I would have been better off going to the emergency room! I was so distraught but couldn't contact them until this morning due to their office hours. Turns out, the insurance company never received the claim. WHEW! I was upset that I received a bill I thought was taken care of and it only gave me til the end of this week to pay! (Btw, the bill was dated 5 days before I got it in the mail.) Needless to say, I was not a happy camper. :headache:

At least that is taken care of now and I can start preparing for vacation mode! Last week of work before the cruise!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

So glad that worked out so easily. I would have had a heart attack. We ended up with two huge unexpected bills this past week to the tune of $3500. When it rains, it pours, right? This all is just going to make the cruise that much sweeter.

Amen to that. They are not charging you for those bills, correct? Hang in there. We are one day closer to Mickey boat paradise. :thumbsup2 That's what I've been telling myself every day, several times a day. Keep going because a "great big beautiful tomorrow" is ahead. :cheer2:

Disney Chase was very good and they are not charging for any of the charges that were not mine. Unfortunately, the $3500 in changes IS mine - we had a major car repair last week and then my husband's computer died in the middle of his final project for school (he's getting his masters) so there's another $2000 for a new computer. It will crimp our cruise spending a little but as long as we're on a Disney ship with new-found friends, it will all be great. I'm counting on that "great big beautiful tomorrow" becoming "today" very soon!!

You can come with me to all the events where we can win stuff - the spa, the DVC presentation, Bingo. Let's just plan to win enough to cover all our excursions! :thumbsup2

Hey! Guess what??!! We're all going to Alaska in 6 days!!! :cool1:

YAY!! It would be great to connect for the DvC stuff. I fear, based on an earlier Navagator, the DVC thing might be much earlier in the day and I'll never get my husband to accompany me (too many very late nights of school work). I think there are a few of us DVCers. I can't wait to meet Ryan.

We're not actually DVC though. I was just thinking about going to their sales pitch to get entered in the drawing. I'd love some free OBC! ;)

Does anyone know when the DVC reception or whatever it is called is? I seem to recall an email from Disney that said something like "check your Navigator for the time when you board the ship...." It feels like I have a lot of things to remember when we board the ship : )

I got a call on Sunday inviting me to the Member's event on Tuesday. :thumbsup2

DVC member presentations are typically the morning of the first sea day. So that would be Tues. Figure on a 9 or 10am get together.
If you are a member, you will have something in your stateroom with the information as to when and where. The non member presentations are later in the cruise, and I believe they will also let you know when those are.

Hey! I didn't get a call. I wonder if we got missed. Guess I'll find out when we're on board IN SIX DAYS!!! I have to keep saying that. We've waited for soooo long, it doesn't feel real.

So since we are less than a week away, I thought I'd share my feelings. I pretty much feel
