Disney Wonder March 20th 2011 sailing

Hello everyone. I just booked this cruise today...couldn't pass up the kids for free promo!! I am going to try and keep it a secret from my sons!

Who: Me (Gina - 40 at time of cruise)
Son Hayden 18 at time of cruise (his last high school spring break)
Son Jensen 15 at time of cruise

This is our 2nd Disney cruise. We chose late dining because we are not early eaters and I hate feeling rushed on shore excursion days and my kids are old so I didn't want to "hog" an early seating for those with wee ones.

We did the Mexican Riviera spring break cruise on NCL in 2009 so I'm looking forward to visiting the ports again.

Dh said yes!! So now we've got to decide between cat 10, already have a room number #1073 or go with my other room on hold which is cat 9C gty. Dh says go for the porthole. I guess we will end up with a room on deck 2 or maybe get upgraded

I've got until Thurs to decide which room. Any advice for me?

I also got 2nd seating. I'm not to upset about that. We've done main seating for our first 2 cruises and we did always feel rushed to get back and get ready. Maybe 2nd seating would be nice for a change

We were in a cat 9C on deck 2 and LOVED it!!! It is soooo quiet on that deck and the huge porthole window was awesome. This time we are going cheap and did and inside cabin since this cruise was NOT on the radar until the promo came out and I couldn't pass it up. We always do late seating. It's more relaxing for us and we tend to be later eaters.

I have a daughter, who will be 10 and in 5th grade at cruise time (she's got a late birthday) and a son who will be 12 and in 6th grade. I see LOTS of people posting about 'tween aged daughters, but does anyone have a son about my son's age? He'd be fine with someone a little older or younger--especially if they have the 'tween club like I keep reading about.

Let me know please...I'll keep watching. Not that I wouldn't love to spend the entire week with both of my kids, they are awesome. But my daughter is so much more outgoing and doesn't ever know a stranger. My son is more quiet and reserved but really friendly once he gets to know someone.


I am SO excited about this. We've been to DL so many times, this is something entirely new and I can hardly contain myself even though it's 9 months away.

I have two boys- my oldest is 13 and my youngest will turn 10 the day before we set sail. It looks like we have a bunch in this age group, and I bet they will have a blast.

Anyone know how many days until we leave? I need to start a countdown.

I think I can now officially say that we will be joining you guys! It will be me (30), DH(29), DD(6/7 her birthday will be during the cruise), and DD(5).

I have wanted to go on a Disney cruise for so long and with the KSF it is finally possible for us. We have been bouncing around changing our cabin, right now we are in an inside, but I'm hoping an OV will pop up and we can switch. Looking forward to getting to know everyone, FE exchange sounds like so much fun!

With the KSF promotion we could not pass up joining our friends on this cruise. My DH Chip, me Cathy, DS Christian 13 and DD Catrina 10 will be travelling with two other families. In our group will be a daughter 18, and four more sons 14, 13, 12 and 8. It will be an awesome time. I need to catch up on the discussions so far. Looking forward to meeting all of you!

almost 9yo ds (turns 9 the day after we return), 7yo dd, 5 yo ds and 3 yo dd.

We have in our hometown group several 9 year old boys who played on the same baseball team this year on this cruise so you so will be right their with them.

I agree with a pp, there are a lot of us on this thread with 10-13 year olds. If any of your kiddos want to start corresponding before the cruise, my dd Makenna is 10 and will be turning 11 this Oct (entering 5th grade this school year due to early age cut offs around here). She is VERY excited that I have joined this group and can't wait to make new friends.

I am so excited about this trip. Does anyone know if the most recent Passporter guide book for Disney Cruise line talks about the Mexican Riviera? I am thinking about buying it but don't want to waste the money if our ports are not even listed.

I have done this cruise on Princess and Carnival about 15 times and I can tell you the excursions are pretty much the same. My neighbor did the DCL cruise in 2008 when it was on the west coast and she gave me all of her Navigators and in my review I found that they are the same ones offered by Princess, Carnival, RCI.

I am SO excited about this. We've been to DL so many times, this is something entirely new and I can hardly contain myself even though it's 9 months away.

My son will be 13 at the time of sailing but sounds similar. He is a great kid, very polite and somewhat shy until he gets to know someone. My son would also like to go to the tween club, do video games, hang out and swim. Sounds like they are somewhat the same!

I have been to Disneyland., literally over 100 times and also a WDW veteran. This is also new for me and just cannot wait!!

I LOVE the idea of giving it to them for Christmas!! I am a BIG supporter of NOT keeping secrets and letting the kids anticipate the vacation. But, if we waited until Christmas there would still be over 3 months to plan. Would that be enough time to get passports, or should I concoct a story to get them before?
