Disney Wonder Dry Dock Watch - 11/10 Wonder departs on first cruise out of Galveston

I haven't seen anything regarding whether the staterooms are undergoing any type of refurbishment, "refreshing" etc ... are they included in the dry dock or has Disney already updated the staterooms ... Thanks

Staterooms were refreshed in early 2015.

Just booked our first Wonder sail for next Spring Break...4 nights in the Bahamas. My first cruise ever and my husband and daughter's second. They're on the Fantasy right now. Excited to watch this thread!

Which days are you going? We're on the April 2 sailing.

Do you know if the Wonder got the raised beds for better storage options like the Magic? Any other changes or improvements to the rooms in 2015?
I'm going to let someone else answer--we haven't been on a cruise yet--first one is on the Wonder in less than 2 weeks! I just know they have been redone from reading the boards here for the past year, and I can't remember 'what' was done.

Yes the beds fit the suitcases underneath. They were like that on our trip a couple weeks ago as well as back in October.

Bedding and amenities were updated to the ones on the Magic as well, as far as I could tell! :)

Received a quote for a Deluxe Oceanview with Verandah for the Wonder ... in the description on DCL website, it states "refrigerator" ... on the quote which has a description of the stateroom, it states "cooling box" ... which I have never heard of before. Is it all fridges in the Wonder staterooms now or a mixture ...

Also noted that in the Wonder's bathroom with the toilet, there is a corner unit - does that make that area a little more cramped?

Plus when I compare size of the Deluxe Oceanview staterooms on the Fantasy vs the Wonder, the ones on the Wonder are larger ... is that true?

Thanks

As far as I know, when they did the rolling "let's change out all the staterooms" before the Panama Canal cruise, the cooling boxes were all changed to refrigerators. A cooling box looked like a mini-fridge, but really only kept things cooler than the ambient air. Most of the time. Sometimes they were REAL efficient and created ice in our soda in there. Other times it wasn't much more than a standard cooler you take to the beach (an insulated box that we had to keep the ice bucket in to keep things cool).

I don't recall that it's any more cramped than the toilet room on the Fantasy. I like that little corner cabinet, it holds a lot.

Yes, the Magic class ships were touted as having rooms larger than the "industry standard" for similar categories on other ships. The Dream class ships - the room were made smaller. Still larger than "industry standard" but smaller than the Magic class.

I had a magical cruise on the first Alaskan this season. The information I received is Edge will move to the arcade, with a similar look to the Magic. Vibe will stay where it is but with a new access--the stairwell that is the "crew entrance" will now be the new entrance for the teens. The Club and Lab will be similar to the Magic, but with a Frozen-themed room instead of Pixie Hollow.

how often are the rooms "refreshed?"
Typically, it's done every dry dock. At least some things/rooms will be done. But, the Wonder was pushing her dry dock (probably due to not being sure when the Panama Canal would be done), and they opted to do a sort of "rolling dry dock" and close off blocks of rooms to refurbish them just prior to her Panama Canal cruise this year.

I'm a little disappointed that the Wonder will have Frozen for their musical and that Frozen will replace Pixie Hollow, however I'm sure that both will be extremely well done.

Dory musical would be good :)
It's already been announced that Frozen will be on the Wonder. While I think for many Frozen is overdone now, it's got to be massively better than the show it's replacing.

And, while I don't have any first-hand information on this, the Disney Dreams show might be updated to include some of the newer movies.

I was doing some reading today, there's going to be a new chandelier in the atrium, Dory splash pad on 9, a teen spa, a few new programmes in the kids clubs...
I can't remember what else right now...

I have added the Frozen news to the first post.

Where did you read this?

A full video if the Winder improve to has been shown on the ships, well the Magic last month, so lots of accurate information out there.

I personally mentioned Frozen coming to the Wonder in July 2015 on my trip report......
