Disney with two broken arms - (Final Day 1/23)

Fun costumes!! I'm impressed you got DH to wear a costume, my wouldn't go near something even as simple as that, I don't think. Fun!!!! :cool1: You guys looked great!!:worship:

You know what?! I loved your costumes! And I think it was smart to not go all out...because we all know that at WDW we want to be comfortable.

Ha ha, loved the pic at the table at Ohana. DH and DD4 just added their own touch! :cutie:

Awesome costumes!!!:thumbsup2

You guys looked great! What a fun way for your family to remember this trip!

Great update!! Those costumes are ingenious...especially how creative you were in putting them together. Kudos for going with the t-shirts - nice move!

Oh, I've gotta tell you that we LOVED watching the video you shot at the POP. We have never been to the POP and that is where we will be staying on our trip in May. Your video got me SO excited about staying there! It was awesome that you could see Epcot's Spaceship Earth from your balcony! How Disney is that?!

I'm glad I found this report. Great job! :thumbsup2

CUTE costumes!!!!! We're doing O'Hana again. I think my parents will LOVE the place. We've been twice for dinner and enjoyed it both times. I can't wait to get some more of those potstickers and sticky wings...yum yum yum!

Have you been for breakfast? We might try breakfast next time.

Great trip report... We are going with our kids (5) and (2) In
Jan. and was wondering where you got the iron ons for the shirts?

Actually I used a graphic I found somewhere online and printed onto blank iron-on paper.;)

Great update. I like the idea of T's for coolness in your costumes. Although here in NY, we usually need winter coats with our costumespirate: Can't wait to hear more.

Yes, same here in CO. Actually though we had a very nice Halloween this year. Best in years.

Awww, great update!! Your costumes look awesome!!!

Thanks a bunch.:goodvibes

I've just read through your entire trip report, awesome job! I love your Incredibles costumes too, the Halloween party is sooo much fun!

:welcome: Thanks for joining in!! I'm honored you read through the entire TR.:goodvibes

You all look great in your costumes. DH and I choose not to eat at Ohanas even though we were staying at the Poly in Sept. I had heard about all that skewered meat and Iam not a big meat eater either. DH is though:rolleyes1 I made ADRs at Kona instead. Looking forward to your next update.

I've read good things about Kona too. Is it 1 TS credit or 2?

MNSSHP is the best! Ohanas is one of my favorites also.

Can't wait to see the party pictures!

Well w/ a DIS name like Halloweenqueen, I would expect nothing less than you loving MNSSHP.

Your costumes are so cute!!!

Thanks irky.:goodvibes

Fun costumes!! I'm impressed you got DH to wear a costume, my wouldn't go near something even as simple as that, I don't think. Fun!!!! :cool1: You guys looked great!!:worship:

Yeah, I think DH even enjoyed wearing "Mr. Incredible" shirt.:rotfl2:

MNSSHP is so much fun! I would love to go back again. Loved the costumes! Y'all looked great!

Thanks

You know what?! I loved your costumes! And I think it was smart to not go all out...because we all know that at WDW we want to be comfortable.

Ha ha, loved the pic at the table at Ohana. DH and DD4 just added their own touch! :cutie:

That's right. :cheer2: Yeah for comfortable. :cheer2: And yes DH and DD4 were being silly billys in that pic.

Awesome costumes!!!:thumbsup2

You guys looked great! What a fun way for your family to remember this trip!

Glad you like them. Thanks:banana:

I'm glad you enjoyed the POP video. Thought it might come in handy for someone.:thumbsup2 BTW I totally think you made the right choice in choosing POP in exchange for more days w/ more dining. We were able to stay 11 days/10 nights and enjoy such things as MNSSHP and water parks w/ the money we saved by staying at POP and we loved it.:cool1: I can't wait to see it all again in your TR this summer!

Yep. We've been to breakfast 4 or 5 times and it's always been real good. The last trip it was not as great as the previous visits but still very good. The characters are great there. They spend a good amount of time with you. They do a conga line dance for the kids with the characters....like the one at night but w/ Disney friends. :goodvibes As a matter of fact our first ever free dining ADR was Breakfast at O'Hana. We liked it so much we went back on that same trip and ate again. We had the sweetest server. I've never had bad service there. (In the morning) Dinner is a whole other story. :rotfl2: Not so lucky then. If you go to my very first TR it should have a good bit of O'Hana breakfast stuff on it. I think this recent one did too but I tried to redo my PB and the pics got messed up. :sad2: I think I'm going to start my August PTR pretty soon. It's not long 'til I make plans for that trip. By the time we get back this time it'll be close to ADR making time. :lmao:

LOVE the costumes!!! What a great idea! And so simple too, I love it!! Can't wait to read about the party!!! popcorn::

We've been to Ohana for breakfast too. It is now one that my daughter wants to do every trip.

We went to the MNSSHP on the 16th so it was not the same night.

I have a question... Where did you get/make the Incredibles shirts? My BFF has been looking far and wide for just that style shirt. Just the "I" no writing. We saw a few in the parks that week and we were stopping people and asking them where they got them! No luck though.. any help you have would be greatly appreciated! :) Her DD 15 has been dying for one of those shirts for over a year now.

princess: great TR! Ive come into this late but I just read all 32 pages, I commend you for getting back on the bike and finishing the race! Can't wait to read the rest!:wizard:

So I just realized that we were at the same MNSSHP on the 19th! AND, I remember seeing you guys. :) I'm scrapbooking our trip so I kept a journal while we were there so I could remember things. I wrote in there that we saw 2 families dressed as the Incredibles....one that was really AWESOME (that was ou guys) and another....not so much...(and I remember them too). I took the notes while we were waiting for our friends (inkedupmomma and her family) so we were sitting between the TTA and the Speedway so my guess is that we must have passed you sometime between the HUB and the Speedway. :lmao: Call me crazy but I had a little notebook with me in my backpack for note taking on the fly! :rotfl2:

What a fun trip report!!! :yay:

I found your report 3 days ago and I'm now totally up to date! And you've only got a little bit to go! :headache: Better late than never though, right!?

(I thought I should add that it hasn't actually taken me 3 straight days to read. I've been jumping on the DIS boards to read more whenever I get a chance!)

Your girls are gorgeous and your DH seems like a fabulous Dad and husband. :thumbsup2 And you're amazing for continuing on with everything, despite your two broken arms!! What a great Mom!! :cool1:

DH and I are off to Disney in January, and your trip report has made me so excited for our trip!!!! Thank you!!

Can't wait to hear about MNSSHP!! :)

Thanks. We had a lot of fun in those outfits.:goodvibes

We've been to Ohana for breakfast too. It is now one that my daughter wants to do every trip.

It is definitely a fun place to eat.:thumbsup2

I actually just searched online until I found a good graphic. I then resized the graphic and printed it on to iron-on paper. Pretty sure that I infringed on some Disney copyright rule but at least I didn't sell the shirts.;) If you search on ebay there are usually a few on sale.:goodvibes

Cute costumes DD LOOKS CUTE DOING THE HULA

Yes, I'm so proud of DD7 for having the confidence to get up there on her own. I mean w/ strangers only.;)

Is it 1 TS credit or 2? Kona is 1 credit. Enjoy if you guys go:thumbsup2

We'll have to add Kona to our list.

Wow, that's neat. What did you dress up as? However, I bet we were the "not so much" family as the other family really was AWESOME.

What a fun trip report!!! :yay:

We left off after dinner at Ohana and on our way to MNSSHP. We arrived at about 6:30. We love the special outfits CM s wear for the party.
DisneyWorld2008137.jpg

After receiving our trick-or-treat bags and bracelets we made our way straight to Cinderella’s Castle. You see a little earlier in the day we had realized we left our photo package on our breakfast table. Boy it took them forever but they finally did find our pictures. I was surprised they didn’t have a better system for pictures left behind. Is it really that rare of occasion? I think we waited about 15 minutes before someone finally came down w/ the packet. I am very grateful that they were able to find it however.

Once we received our pictures back we went straight to get our pictures taken in front of Cinderella’s Royal carriage. It was here where I finally understood just how annoying it was to have people who have not paid for the party taking up space and time from those who had forked over the money. There was already a line a little before 7. While we were waiting the CM s were taking several pictures for a family and their children. DH pointed out that they did not have bracelets on and were not dressed up. :sad2:

The photo pass photog who took our pictures was VERY familiar w/ The Incredibles. He was very friendly and offering a lot more facts than we knew about. He had us do a fun pose where we all played our part. DH was to stand and look strong, I was to stretch out my arms (yes, I was aware of the irony that my arms were broken and one had a cast), DD7 was to hide her face like she was trying to disappear, and DD4 was to pretend like she was running.
image315.jpg

We couldn’t resist adding this border as well.
image310.jpg

And we got a couple w/ just the kiddos.

image319.jpg

Next we were off to the beloved attraction of the evening The Haunted Mansion. I was excited to get this pictures. What fun.
image320.jpg

I’m often impressed w/ how well the girls played along w/ what the photogs asked them to do.
image323.jpg

After getting our photo ops in we were off to Fronteirland. First we rode Splash Mountain w/ no lines. When we got off we all wanted to ride again except DD7. Splash Mountain is the kind of ride she prefers to ride once just to say she did. DH convinced her to go one more time and we would all wear our masks to get a good picture going down. We did end up w/ a great picture. We loved it SO much that we did fork over the money for the picture and a great Slash Mountain frame. We had the log to ourselves and we absolutely love this picture. It is one of our favorites. I'll have to take a picture of the frame we bought to go with it.

Then we made our way to Big Thunder Mtn Railroad. Again there were no lines. It really is a new experience and a lot of fun to ride at night.
DisneyWorld2008140.jpg

As I mentioned before I was feeling a bit nauseous from all the meat at Ohana so I didn’t feel too well on this ride. When we pulled in the CM s said if we wanted to ride again we could just stay on. I really wanted to get off but felt I owed it to my DD7 to stay on since she had done Splash Mountain twice. By the time we pulled up for after the second ride I knew there was no way I was staying on. As we left BTMR we realized just exactly why there was no one around. The parade was going by and all of Fronteirland was blocked off. In fact we realized we were trapped. We had plans to watch the second parade. We ended up going through the candy stations until we could make our way across.

Up Next:hourglass : More MNSSHP

What great pics of all of you. Glad they found your breakfast pics:thumbsup2 .Can't wait to see and hear more.

These pics are wonderful! I agree with you...the Splash Mountain pic is one of the best! It's such a fun memorable shot! I'm happy to hear they found your Cinderella pictures. Do you think you'll do the castle again? I'm debating on it for August. I don't really want to go again but we're taking newbies and I think everyone should do it at least once. The lunch and dinner menus don't look good to me at all. I don't know what to do just yet. I still have a few weeks before deciding on that one. Can't wait to see the rest of the party pics!
