Disney! Wake up and sell the coffee!!!

Buy a $10.00 one cup maker and bring your own coffee.

A CM actually told me the coffee at WDW is FROZEN!!! I always assumed it was syrup mixed with hot water. Anyway, Nescrap should be replaced.

Kona does have good coffee as do the AKL restaurants; but I don't think I've had a decent cup of coffee anywhere else in WDW. I am not a coffee snob either. I rarely buy coffee from a coffee shop - mostly drink it fresh brewed at home.

I HATE the Nescafe. I would bring my own but it doesn't help me at 2pm while i'm in the park (sigh). Personally, my husband and I are hard core Starbucks fans. However, I would take Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, Green Mountain WHATEVER as long as it was better than that Nescafe garbage. And it is garbage. I would LOVE to know why they insist on serving it when NO ONE likes it? Ew.

If there were Starbucks on every corner of WDW I would be so happy. It is so hard to give up my Venti quad non fat vanilla latte a day habit!

I dont mind the coffee from the kiosks in Epcot, they are ok and the coffee at Cape May and CP breakfasts are pretty good. The pressed pot at Kona is awesome but the lattes at the Kona stand are horrible...same thing for any CS places...totally watered down yuck!

Dunkin Donuts? Isn't that the place that serves coffee in a box? Is that like wine in a box? We bring our own Gevalia.

As Nestle is a major sponsor, Disney will continue to serve Nestle products.

HOWEVER please do be aware that Nestle in Europe is far better coffee than Nestle in America. There are Nestle espresso machines and coffee machines which make an excellent coffee or espresso drink.

The machines and product which WDW uses are formulated for the 'American tastebuds' (most likely the tastebuds of 20 years ago). Hence the weak coffee and pre sweetened espresso products.

You can help to make a change by contacting Disney directly. Until enough people complain, they will not change the product.

There are also non-Disney run coffee bars at various locations, such as the four at Epcot, which do serve generally better coffee drinks.

My husband and I were just talking about this very topic TODAY!!

We were at WDW 2 weeks ago and missed our daily 2-3 cups of coffee terribly ... we were wondering if we were the only ones who were surprised that Disney hasn't jumped on the coffee-chain bandwagon yet by adding Dunkin Donuts/Starbucks/etc since McDonalds has a presence there (albeit a scant one).

We are Canadian and were secretly hoping that when they updated the movie at the Canadian Pavillion in Epcot, they would add a Tim Horton's booth there as well!! :rotfl:

Perhaps someone at Disney will notice.

Not likely, nor will they care. Plenty of people drink it up, and I can guarantee its the cheapest option for disney. Unless Starbucks offers to pay disney millions to set up a shop in each park, you'll never see it. The shareholders own disney. All they want in their stock to go up. Disney therefore does whatever they can to save a penny.

Yep, its a sponsorship thing. When Starbucks is willing to pay Disney to sell their coffee in the parks and sponsor an attraction, perhaps Disney will switch. Until then, the business is Nestle's - though as mentioned, it may be possible to convince Disney to provide better Nestle brand coffee than they do. Disney is huge on corporate partnerships - and its food partnerships are with Stouffers and Nestle.

(And Starbucks is not at all to my taste - burnt beans - I'd rather have Nescafe and would complain about the quality of the coffee even louder if it became Starbucks. Don't assume that everyone has the same taste in coffee. Like other coffee snobs, we bring our own.)

Me TOO!!! That would make the visit to Epcot AWESOME!!!!!

What kind of coffee do they have at Captain Cooks at the Poly? The good stuff like at Kona Cafe, or the same bad stuff like the rest of the "world?"

I deal with the coffee as I'm a one cup a day kind of girl. DH is a BIG coffee drinker. He hates the coffee at WDW. The only things that he hates more are the cost of the trip and the crowds! LOL!

Kanga1- The coffee at Capt'n Cooks is the same old stuff! (At least it tastes that way to me.) You've got to pay the bigger bucks if you want the "good stuff" from Kona!

AMEN to the OP! However, we found a great cup! It was at Chefs de France. NOT the counter service/patisserie, but the sit-down restaurant. Wonderful cup of percolated, French roast coffee.

:)

The swill Disney calls coffee is not acceptable. Nowadays, we demand good coffee, not Nescafe garbage (yes, I know they sponsor the Epcot suff...)

The espresso machines in Epcot, at the AK, etc. are not making good espresso or lattes.

Disney needs to provide a good coffee or they are going to need to put Starbucks on every corner of WDW like it is in the real world.

Until everyone complains enough, nothing will change. If you agree with me, post a reply to this thread. Perhaps someone at Disney will notice.

One thing that bugs me is at the BW they have that Joe's Coffee Cart that's supposedly supposed to have exotic coffees, but doesn't open until nightime. They couldn't be open during the day been people actually need their caffeine?

We rent a house and are able make our own coffee in the mornings, but it would be nice to grab a quick decent cup in the parks, esp. when the weather's cooler. I can't stand instant coffee, so I'll never buy it there.

That is just crazy. So Nescafe provides the coffee for free? If they do, I would assume they do that for name recognition. Do they actually think they are gaining business from serving that swill? Just doesn't make any sense at all. Do some people actually like the Nesafe swill?

1) WDW sponsors supply goods free, as well as paying other duties.
2) Obviously, the sponsors assume guests seeing their goods will increase business.
3) Examples of other sponsors
. . . COKE - all coke products are supplied free to WDW
. . . KODAK - all park maps are printed and supplied free to WDW
4) As far as Nescafe
. . . there is more instant coffee sold/drank in world than perk coffee
. . . the Nescafe brand of instant is the largest selling instant coffee

I couldnt agree more. The coffee at WDW is the worst I have ever tasted anywhere. It is filthy stuff! We always stay on site and it has now got to the stage where none of us purchase the refillable mugs. We would rather drink water for a week than have one sip of that nasty sludge. I hate instant coffee and by the time I leave Disney I have the shakes!

Maggs

Last year, prior to our family trip to WDW, DD (4) watched the Disney trip planning DVD over and over and over. One night she convinced DH to get down on the floor and watch it with her. As they are laying side by side, hands in their chins watching the DVD, DD suddenly looks at DH and says, "Daddy, will there be Starbucks in Disney?"

For all those staying at Shades of Green....they DO have a Starbucks.

I just wish I could get the same coffee in the States that I can in Europe....now that's REAL coffee.

One Venti Latte, please!

ANYTHING would be better than instant coffee. Of course I would hope for Gevalia or Starbucks, but those guys don't need to give their product away to get people to drink it.

I make my own in the hotel in the morning and take another cup on the bus for the ride to the parks. That pretty much has me set till dinner, but uggg who wants to finish a meal with instant coffee, especially weak instant coffee! :confused3
