Disney Visa Reward Dollars

We have a trip coming up in August and I have accumulated quite a few reward dollars. It’s been years since I’ve redeemed reward dollars and I have some questions.

How long does it take to get a card in the mail with the reward dollars on it? Should I redeem now or can I wait until closer to my trip?

My final payment is only due in the beginning of July. If I redeem my reward dollars now, can I transfer the dollars I accumulate after I receive my card in the mail? Is there a minimum number of dollars I need to transfer?

Go ahead and order the card. I think you are required to transfer a small amount onto the card - like $10 or $20. Then, you can add more to the card online and it is instantly transferred.

Agree with PP, go ahead and request card with the minimum amount ($20). You can transfer money anytime with a minimum transfer of $10.

$20 minimum for first transfer to new card. It takes a week or so to get in the mail and it's in a non-descript envelope. Then transfer any amount, minimum if $10, once you get it. You can even do transfers of cents...like 10.01

And make sure to check the expiration dates on your reward points! The points have rolling expiration dates. Once you transfer the points to the rewards card, there is no expiration date. Someone we know lost all her points right before a Disney trip -- had no idea the points could expire -- so now we diligently transfer our points to the rewards card, just to be safe.

I just did with an older card...not sure if it was from 2016 or 2017 though. You can check to see which cards are active on the site and it will show what you can transfer to.

The cards used to have expiration dates but no longer do.....check your card to see if there is an expiration date listed. If no expiration date is listed, you can use your old card.....you can also just order a new one for free if you want to start fresh.

Yup just transfer them all no reason not to.

When you request a transfer, it is instant. I transfer my money every month onto my rewards card that I keep in my fire safe. That way my points don't expire.

It's always taken about a week to get the card.

Just make sure you don’t throw the card away like a gift card. I’ve made that mistake before, and it was tough trying to get it taken care of a week or so before a trip.
