Disney transfer, rental car or limo?

We're leaving next month and are trying to decide which ground transportation to take: Disney transfer, limo town car or rental car. The rate is about the same for Disney shuttle bus and Happy Limo town car for a family of four, so I guess the limo would make for a more pleasant ride with no waiting involved. However I thought I read somewhere that the Disney shuttle is more convenient in that the luggage goes straight from the airport to the cabin so you don't have to lug it around at the terminal. Is that correct? If we catch the limo, how far would we have to carry the luggage to the check-in point?

I assume that a rental car would be cheaper if we rent for only a day to go from MCO to port, return it at Radisson before boarding the ship, and then rent again after the cruise to go back to the airport. That seems like a lot of trouble, doesn't it?

Our return flight is at 3:15pm so we'd have to wait quite a while at the airport if we go with either the Disney transfer or the limo. Any advice?

Thanks

Just got back from the ship, using Happy Limo. Although you have to take your luggage with you in the towncar or limo, there is someone right at the drop-off point to take it from you before you head up to the check-in area. All you keep is your day bag, and your luggage will be delivered to your stateroom later.

Barb, scheduled with Happy (mention of name and they don't even need the coupon code from your website :) ) Question is: read on another limo company's site that only 3 company's have permission to go right up to the terminal to pick up DCL passengers, others have to have the passengers go get them? Is this true and will Happy be there at the terminal upon debarkation at the designated time or will we have to go hunt them down? Hopefully a silly question but would like to know before we leave. Thanks

Once you disembark, you have to cross the street into the parking lot to meet Happy Limo. Our driver told us that after Sept. 11, no one is allowed to pick-up/drop off directly at the ship. It was still very convenient and I would highly recommend it. Everyone picks up there luggage in the same place after the cruise. Even if you use Happy Limo, you can still check your luggage in with the major airlines at the port then walk (short distance) to meet the limo.

We used Tiffany Town Car, and we had to walk across the street to meet our towncar too. They told us that nobody was allowed to drive right up to the terminal anymore.

In the good old days before 9/11, they used to be able to drive right up there. Now, with the newly tightened measures due to the orange terrorism threat level, I think it will be a LONG time before any of the limo companies will be able to drive right up to the building. The walk isn't too far, but if you have a lot of luggage, you can hire a porter to go there with you. If you get there early, there is a tent/canopy to wait under.
