Wow Dan, I didn't want to admit this, but your analogy is all too true at times

Did they close all of the Disney Gallery Stores?![]()
I actually was kind of disappointed when parks stuff started showing up in the catalogs (don't know if I've ever seen parks stuff in the stores). I've always thought parks merchandise should be limited to the parks (or DTD, but I'm even iffy on that one). I know that most people who buy parks stuff have been there at one time or another, but I kind of see it as false advertising if you're showing off your parks merchandise, and you didn't get it from a park. Just a little silly notion I have. I won't even buy resort merchandise unless I have actually spent a night at the resort. That notion actually is rooted in my feelings about people wearing concert t-shirts for concerts they didn't attend.I wish they carried more parks stuff though, especially pre-WDW DL stuff. I about made myself poor getting the die-cast ride cars.
I think that is another long line you have to stand in if you want to complain.Disney Store Complaint
I don't even mind if they have some park merch that can only be found in the parks, but I think there's plenty of stuff that they could sale at TDS, even stuff they no longer sell at the parks. I'm sure most of us have been in that situation where there were a ton of things we wanted to buy, but since we're on vacation, we had to make the either or choice.Originally posted by DocRafiki

Plus, I like the excitement (yes, exciting , because I'm a big nerdy shopper) of seeing new merchandise at WDW that you can't see at your local store.
