Disney Quest

I'm wondering what people think of Disney Quest. Is it worth the money spent? I've heard that there are added expenses inside above and beyond your admission price--is this true? If so, what is the average amount spent once inside? We are planning on going in December, and I'm interested in anyone's thoughts--my children are 16, 14, 14, & 6. Thanks a bunch!

The added expenses will be if you purchase food/drink or souveniers. Also, there are some activity stations where you can make things and then purchase them (pictures for example). But for any of the games or "rides," there is no extra charge. I would definitely say DQ is worth every penny. To make the most of it, I would go at an off peak time though.

DQ is great. The elevator just to get to the main part is the best. Pretty much all is free except for food and drrinks. At the 5 th floor I believe, they have computers so you can check your email. They have cyber space mt where you design your own coster and the ride it. After the ride, you can buy your video tape and it shows your track and what you look like while riding it. I believe that is about 12.00 plus tax. The Mighty Ducks pinball is a real workout. You will have fun.

You pay for a toy story toy your kids created I thnk it was 12.99, My kids loved that. And you can make a cd of a song you make up. But you don't have to spend money for that if you don't want to. Except their food was really good there and the cheesecake factory is there.

You could easily spend 5 or 6 hours in there and not spend a dime on anything but food! Cheesecake Factory Express is yummy!

We went to DisneyQuest on Saturday. I gotta say that I really wasn't thirlled.

Pretty much everything except food is included in your admission. I got really bored really quickly, and I'd have been upset if I had paid full price. But I had a discount admission from mousesavers, so it was reasonably priced.

If your kids like video games, they'll love it there.

I was there once a few years ago, and loved it! Two things I specifically remember are the jungle safari cruise (don't remember the exact name of it), and CyberSpace Mountain. That was a lot of fun. I really hope to go again next time I'm at WDW.

db 12 loves disneyquest. this is his second time going and specifically asked if we could go back there. I made sure it was on my uph so we could go everynight. i believe there is an arcade area...i keep him out of that unless he takes his own money for that. but there is so much to do other than that. since the parks close earlier in the fall and in dec. thats where we head and since weve already eaten we dont purchase any food inside. dq is definately worth the money. i (27) enjoy it too. looking foreword to trying to make him go upside down for the first time in the rollercoaster simulater. hopefully hell try it.

I could be wrong, as I didn't play that much in the arcade except for some Pinball, but all those arcade games are included in your admission.

To play the pinball machine in the arcade area, I didn't need any money.

Not that you'd want to share this with your son if you ANY intention of getting him out of DisneyQuest at all!

The elevator just to get to the main part is the best.

It's not an elevator it's an adventure!

I agree the elevator is the best part of the trip there!

We love DQ and spend at least 2 to 3 half days there each trip.

I suggest going early in the AM to get the most out of it.

Also do eat in DQ, best fast food on property. Cooked fresh.

...DH and I were out for dinner alone last night (anniversary) and we were discussing our itinerary for next vacation at Disney. I suggested DQ and started telling DH about it. I knew there was an 'arcade' inside that you needed money for, but I am pretty sure the main attractions (virtual reality) are included in price of admission....so, by reading the posts on this thread, I am considering myself correct. DH said he just didn't want to spend the money and then have to pay to do everything inside. I told him 97% of the things to do inside are included in admission price.....To participate is included, but food and souvenirs are extra...correct? Thanks wonderful friends........

What's a reasonable amount of time to expect to spend in Disney Quest? Is 3-4 hours enough, or would the kids be disappointed to leave? I have two girls, ages 9 and 12 -- both big video game girls.

What are the hours for Disney Quest in late October?

Would you choose Saturday night or Sunday morning (no other options -- we're passing through quickly)?

Just as an FYI..from that allearsnet.com page:

"Your admission includes unlimited use of all attractions except those which give redemption tickets that can be traded in for prizes. These are spruced-up traditional midway-style games like skee ball. You can play these games for a small fee, and the tickets you win can be redeemed at the gift shop for prizes - anything from a plastic Slinky to a DisneyQuest t-shirt. You can save up tickets for redemption on a later visit, if you like."

This section is DOWN for reburbishment. DH and I used to drop $40 here easily playing these games, winning tickets, and redeeming them for...well...crap. But it was fun. We were kinda disappointed when we fould out all these games were gone. (You can still PLAY the games for free - but no tickets...boring!) plus - most of the games were...shall I say...in need of repair? 5 skee-ball machines - only ONE ball to play with. out of the 4 basketball games, only 2 worked.

Another thing that was closed last week was the Inca maze located on the bottom floor near the Pirates ride and Jungle cruise...DH and I liked that too...yelling directions at each other over the noise down there - always fun.

Just be prepared for some things being closed
