Disney Pins Question

Well, actually my question is more on the lanyard!

what exactly is a lanyard and where can you buy one? My husband purchased a lot of 20 pins on EBay for my daughter to use for trading on our upcoming trip. (1 week and 6 days!!!!)

ANyways, any info on lanyards or where to buy one would be appreciated!!!!

A lanyard is like a necklace but it wide and made from cloth. Once in a while you can get them from the disney store but if you want yours before going, try ebay. They are EVERYWHERE at WDW! We have one but we don't normally do the pin trading. I just like to collect the pins.

I would wait and buy one at WDW! They were (as of last September) between $5 - $7 (depending on size/style). We bought a total of six different ones. Your DD can pick the one she wants (design/color) and since shipping is not a factor, I imagine it would be cheaper that ebay! The in-park choices include crowns, pirates, princess type, MM outline, dated (eg. year all over) and I even bought one that was red and says "Walt Disney World" all over it.

I have seen lanyards at Claires and even Home Depot...but I agree w/pp and pick one out at WDW. They are very reasonably priced and there is a great selection. Also, you may consider investing in some locking pin backs for pins that are keepers. They are readily available at the parks (around $10 for 8, or something like that) and will really secure your pins -- I find the mickey-head backs can come off easily. Happy trading!!

I agree on getting more secured backs! A pin fell off in our hotel room! my son was so upset because its our chip n dale halloween pin! my hubby and i searched for an hour until we found it!!!!

YOu can purchase a kit at WDW. It comes with 4 starter pins.

I have seen them on e-bay too, and they were around $1.95, at the point that I had seen it. Who knows how high it went though. We received freee ones last time we went from the Dream Team. One for each member of our family. Before that we never even bought the pins. Good way to get you hooked on their part.

you are right on the "hooked" part LOL! thats how we got started too! we got a free pin and from then on we were hooked!
