Now here is where my brain SHOULD kick in and say “no we have had this discussion, it is way too expensive”, but he smiled. That is right, he smiled right at me, the blue eyes twinkled and what did I do? I immediately got on the WDW website and started looking at prices. No resistance, no fighting for our anniversary trip, just clicking and typing - pricing things out. WHY DO I DO THIS? Please let me know if you figure it out. Within 30 minutes of Bill opening that email, I had modified our existing reservation and added another reservation.

Hi Kathy! He is my true love, I am so fortunate to have him in my life. He is the MAN!!

Josh has been to WDW, he went on our first trip. A trip where we went to Magic Kingdom, ate dinner at Tony’s Restaurant, and he decided he wanted to leave. That is right you read it correctly, we didn’t even walk down Main Street

. I didn’t want to argue with him so I didn’t even get close to the Castle and didn’t get to see Wishes. I know you are sitting there thinking shame on you

.

I can’t believe I even told that shocking secret to you. Me a complete Disney addict didn’t even get close to the Castle my first trip. Josh turned 17 during that trip and was very self absorbed. Magic Kingdom was for kids according to him

. Foolish Disney nonbeliever he was. Sometimes I don’t think he could be biologically mine

.

How is it going to be different this time? How are we going to get him go to Magic Kingdom and be happy about it? Well Bill and I have thought this out. We could:

- explain that it is our rules

he will obey, then he will be like this

.

- ask for some respect

.

- threaten bodily harm

.

Then we laughed about how ridiculous those plans were and how they would not work and decided to use our secret weapons:

Hannah and Christian:

That is right. We are using their cuteness and begging skills to get him to go along with it. The first time he sees Hannah with a princess, or Christian having fun, his heart will melt and the Disney Magic will take over. We just know it. Bill’s goal is to get him on Dumbo and get a picture of him smiling while he is riding it with Hannah. I think that just might be an attainable goal.

Hannah is 4, she loves Disney princesses, especially Aurora. She also adores Tinkerbell. I can not wait to see her with both of them. I know she might be scared. We pray she will embrace the Disney magic and have a good time. If she doesn’t like the characters, that is ok with us. We just want her to have magical memories. We have talked about taking her to Bibbity Bobbity Boutique, I think she would like that.

Christian is 11, he likes boy stuff like pirates and Star Wars. We told him one time about Star Wars Weekend and the training academy and he was dying to hear more. I am hoping we can get him picked for the training. I don’t know if he would like the new Pirate League stuff or not, we will see.


Now the rest of the cast:

Josh and Abbey (sorry the picture is scanned):

As usual he needed a haircut, last time I was with him it was even longer and I told him he must be a long lost Jonas Brother. I got the evil eye for that comment, but it cracked Abbey up.

Josh is 20, loves video games way too much, and needs to be more goal oriented, but he is like his dad. I will not be going there as I want my PTR to be a happy, positive one

.

Abbey is in her 20’s, but older than Josh. She is a wonderful woman, so beautiful inside and out and puts up with my son. She keeps him grounded and happy, therefore she makes me happy. I really enjoy spending time with her. She loves Disney things and will have a great time. She will be so excited when we tell them.

“When we tell them”, yes you read that right. We are telling them this week. It will be a surprise to the kids, until we are all on the way to Disney. We are taking Josh and Abbey with us to Nashville for an extended weekend to the CMA Fest. Abbey loves the ABC soaps like we do and we are taking her to a soap event there. Josh is just tagging along. There are other things there to do so he shouldn’t be too bored. ABC is setting up two different Wipeout courses and I would love to talk Josh into trying that out

.

I think from the first time Bill laid eyes on Hannah and Christian he has dreamed of taking them to WDW. To be honest, I have too. I read so many TR’s about kids and the magic, we just want to spread the pixie dust.

There are 3 others to introduce that will not be joining us for the trip.

Ace, our furbaby, we adore this dog. This is my favorite picture of him:

He looked so happy, that is because we had just gotten home from a WDW trip where we had left him for 12 days:

See the Mickey head!! I couldn’t believe it when I saw it one night, I had to take a picture of it.

Now for Josh’s families fur babies. There are two.

Zany is a pitbull. She is the biggest baby you could ever meet. She likes to run at you full force and jump in your lap, like a lap dog. She is one of the most loving dogs you could ever meet and she is scared of Ace

.

Here she is with her Daddy, Josh is playing a video game and she likes to put her head on his shoulder. I feel sorry for my xMIL she will be watching this dog while we are gone, Zany will be a mess without Josh:

Last but not least is Zepplin, the cat. Zany and Zepplin love each other and are often found like this:

Ohhh see the Tinkerbell pillow (I think that is a pillow)? That is Hannah’s. She loves all things Tinkerbell, she has seen the movie about 100 times. Her grandma is in the Disney Movie Club so Hannah gets many Disney movies

. That is a wonderful grandma!

I would plan for Josh not wanting to go to the parks everyday and certainly not a rope drop. If he does than great, if not let it be part of the plan that he can stay behind at the resort. Abbey and the kids can go off with you and Bill and Josh can meet up with you later.

Hey I just thought of something....this means Bill can go on Test Track because there will be someone to help transfer him...cool!

I knew someone would know what Tink item that was. I don't know if I have posted Ace's hidden Mickey here before or not? When Hannah looks up at Josh and says "Joshie" he is a goner . I can't reveal the dates yet, it is in an upcoming installment

Oh we have already decided to leave Josh in the dust if he isn't ready. He has been on the busses before so he can catch up. I am not going have someone ruin our trip like Amy did last time (ok not ruined the trip but caused anxiety and stress A LOT).

Bill already thought about Test Track and many other things he can do since Josh is there. I will say I think Josh will get up and go, he is very protective of Bill and wanted to help him all the time on the last trip.

We are going to take things really slow and go with the flow of things. If you ever see Josh will you say that to him ?

“I will give up the Poly if we take Josh and family to WDW”, he said. What? HUH? The Poly is his “dream resort”. I have heard this many, many times. We had the trip almost paid for, had most of our plans figured out etc. He has to be kidding. I said: “You are joking right?” He said “no, I always wanted to take them, family is more important than anything else”. The man makes me cry more than Wishes

What a sweet gesture and sacrifice on his part!

Your son sounds somewhat like my youngest son. Mine says he is probably coming on our all-family summer trip, and I hope that ends up happening. Even though he's not a big Disney person, there's nothing that would make me happier than having all my family with me in Disney World! I think if he can get a buddy to come with him so that they can go out into Orlando and do some non-Disney stuff, too, he might actually come.

I know Hannah and Christian will have the time of their lives, and I hope this will be a most magical trip for all of you!
