POTD: Again, from Jan 73, and not exactly a beautiful picture, but look very closely and you may see a surprise! Also note the 'clear' path to the Contemporary! Sparse flora!

WOW!! Nice shot and it appears to me that the left monorail wasn't built all the way to the Contemp hotel yet? Right?

Never noticed that when I was there...then again...when your 20 you don't stop to smell the roses..

Love your old photos. Brings back good memories. Mine were slides back then. Maybe someday I'll go through them and see what I can get posted. Amazing how things have changed. Keep them coming!!

Optical illusion: both tracks were running. These were slides too: 110!!! You know, those little half inch things? hehehehee... I was new to scanning slides when I did these (and the roughly 1000+ other slides) and didn't use compressed air to clean the slide first: hence, some of the 'noise', though some of it is in the emulsion. Wish I had thought to save all my 'paper' from those early visits! But it is amazing to me to see an almost desert environment round there! It is so lush and forested now! I don't think you can see the Contemp from TTC now? Not sure... I usually take the ferry- easier with the ECV.

ExACTLY!!!! I noticed it for the first time while prepping this image last night! I said, son of a gun! I've seen that! hehehee...

And where the bus stops are now, up near the entrance- that was all open and filled with topiaries!
