Disney parks in Hawaii?

Hi all, haven't seen this one discussed, but I'm new, so please forgive me if this is somewhere else. We bought a timeshare 3 years ago in oahu. when we bought they said that Disney had purchased a plot of land up the road (between us and Pearl Harbor). I haven't heard or read anything since then, and of course took what the salesperson said with a grain of salt.

Anyone ever hear of anything in Hawaii? with all the tourists going there it wouldn't suprise me.

This is the first time I've heard anything about Disney property in Hawaii. If I had to guess, I'd guess that Disney would have bought this property (if, indeed, they *did* buy it) when they were still considering expanding the Disney Vacation Club to non-Disney locations. Since they've since abandoned that concept based on the evidence of Hilton Head and Vero Beach, I wouldn't expect anything there.

Oddly enough, the DVC forums on this board did a couple of rounds of postings this Spring around the possibility that Disney was reviving the Hawaii time-share concept. Who knows?

Latest info from DVC is that they are looking at expanding again. Turns out DVC is one of the few profitable divisions for Disney. Hawaii is mentioned as a possibility (along with Colorado).

Seems liek this would go along with the Hawaii and Colorado tours they were doing this summer for select patrons.

I read somewhere that Disney was getting into the wilderness business with guided tours through the Mountains of Colorado, the glaciers of Alaska and yes, the wonders of Hawaii. They were supposed to be starting this year on a trial run but I haven't seen anything more about them. No theme parks on these tours though, just camping, lodges and tours.

Hi everyone,
I have been living in Hawaii for 3 years. We are Navy and live right next to Pearl Harbor. We have heard not one word about creating a new property here of any kind. What we heard was the Military was trying to buy or lease more property by the base and were having a hard time doing that but the no more word about the subject in quite awhile. We did hear from some friends that work by the cruise ships location that Disney Exec.'s have been out there several times this year. Who know maybe the cruises are coming out here? Aloha!!
