Disney only cruise operator in baltic this summer?

If it's not too soon for MSC Cruises, and it's not too soon for Norwegian Cruise Line, and it's not too soon for Princess Cruise Line, and it's not too soon for Viking Cruise Line, then what is your basis of determining that it's too soon for Disney?
Everything could change for those cruises before Summer. Every day we seem to be on the "brink" of world war 3. My guess is a lot of people will cancel. Most people don't like uncertainty, and vacations aren't supposed to be stressful.

It might be too soon. Some are predicting the entire mess will be over in 10 days. But I don't have a crystal ball, and neither does Disney. And as a smaller cruise line, they may not have a backup plan in place yet, so they have no decision to make yet.

Well I guess our definitions of timely are different. Given the agility of other lines to adjust and maneuver I expected the same from DCL. Oh well, look forward to info when it comes.
War isn't a pandemic, but it has the same impact. Things Disney had no control over. Haven't we learned anything in the 10 months since the restart? Things have literally been changing as ships approach the dock.

10 days or is it 2 weeks... where have I heard that before?:scratchin

I guess I don't know why Disney (or anyone) should be canceling cruises to the Baltic Sea. Sure, don't stop in St. Petersburg, but there are plenty of other interesting, non-Russian places to go in that area.

Yup. How do you decide? Australia has reopened to cruising, but some cruise lines decided not to wait and moved their ships out of Australia until 2023. Cruise lines can't win. If you don't make an early choice people are mad . And if you do make an early choice, people are mad because the canceled cruises could have happened.

Your right, Disney does not control those things but they do control how they respond and frankly their responses, whether in time or substance, has been way behind their peers. This applies to the Parks, DCL , DVC, etc. One can expect that this will get better at some point but they are not above reproach when it comes to dealing with customers.

Well, it clearly hasn't hurt their business. So customers are very forgiving.

Pent-up demand has a way of glossing over flaws, doesn’t mean there isn’t improvement to be had. I hope they improve but only time will tell. In the meantime I hope the cruise goes off without a hitch.

Those cruises aren't within PIF yet right? Concierge aside, folks can make their own choices on these sailings still. That may be all there is to them dragging their heels... staying aboard is telling them you're ready and willing to go there with the itinerary as is. If they make changes you don't like later on after you can't cancel, they tend to offer concessions.

I checked Carnival they have not cancelled St Petersburg yet.
Carnival has already announced that they will be dropping St. Petersburg, so if you see it in the system, it won't be there for long.
This is Carnival's 2/26 tweet:
In light of the recent attacks by Russia in Ukraine, Carnival Corporation brands will be modifying our itineraries in the coming week once alternative ports can be confirmed. We stand for peace.

That’s too bad.
