Lightning Lane selections will be made on the same day of your visit and can be used across multiple theme parks, great for those who love the Park Hopper option. Attractions continue to offer a traditional standby queue, or a virtual queue at certain attractions like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – to maximize flexibility.

-This is from the parks blog post, I’m still trying to process everything so I can respond appropriately
Thanks. Will try to avoid the extra cost during my trip if at all possible. For a family of 4 a week trip would need to add another $400+ if my math skills are still there.

It's like the old paper system - as many as you can make work, but only one at a time. Once you use one you can make another. If you make it further out though it will limit how many you can get. There may be a timing aspect to that to let you hold more than one like MaxPass did, but that's unknown at this time (and probably not since it would be nice to have).
Thanks. Glad I can see how it works for others before my Feb trip

At 15$, I feel like a lot of people will buy it which is basically like a mass ticket $ increase then some will pay for the extras. Well played Disney. And so resort guests get to make ONE , their initial selection at 7am? Disney wants everyone up early…..
Edit: I know they get more afterwards it just seems weird to set an alarm for one

The great thing about MaxPass (and this) is that you can buy it only on the days you want to use it. I would often buy it on day one at DL, get everything done I NEEDED to get done, then not buy it on subsequent days. The only difference is that there were still manual (papeR) FastPasses at DL with that system.

This really comes down to how many attractions become individual purchases. I could pretty much always get a same day fastpass for Space Mountain when I was there. The new rides that will have Virtual Queues are not a big deal because you dont have to pay extra for that but there are a lot of big rides that were pretty easy to get same day fastpasses for free.

There is a problem with what he says about Rise - IF they sell as many as they can, they WILL sell them all. The ride has too high of a demand. They need to make sure they hold out some for standby (VQ), or there will literally be no such thing as riding it without paying extra.

I wonder if AP still the $15/day for Genie +/Maxpass thing...or if there is any benefit there?
I think it still is, I watched the video about genie with the Disney panelists and Andres asked about APs. The VP guy said APs would be able to buy Genie plus for each day. To be honest, that sucks. I get an AP so I can spend more days in the park, and having to spend an extra $15/day on top of 1200/AP is really annoying. I’d rather pay a flat fee.

It would be nice if they’d announce something about the blasted AP program so we can start planning.

Seriously thinking every one is going to buy Rise of the Resistance passes and there will be nothing left for free, especially those who have been unable to get Boarding Groups historically...and who is going to pay extra $ for Space Mountain!?

we don’t know yet if there will be a full year option like DL had with max pass. They could add for like $125 or pay per day.

Why does Disney think that I want to wake up prior to 7AM on vacation? I don't want to do it for Rise and I don't want to do it for this either.

Annoying.
Exactly!! ***? The other benefits we get is 'Get up early to go into the park' or 'Stay up late for extra hours'! And they want us to be up by 7am to use this???
I personally Hate not being able to know *** I'm going to be able to get Fastpasses for ahead of time, this is painful to me.
