Ok - chatted with 2 different CM's, who both stated that the specific info about how early purchases can be made has not been provided to them yet. So while the blog says online or by phone, that is in reference specifically to purchases on 8/20 or later:
"Tickets will go on sale Aug. 20 and can be purchased online or by calling 407-939-7947. Guests of select Disney Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, as well as Shades of Green at Walt Disney World Resort can book their tickets as early as August 17."

What does "select resorts" mean? Could this be deluxe only? Or maybe just WDW resorts? I'm running the Wine and Dine the day before the first event, I'd love to convince my husband to stay an extra night. (Who am I kidding, with Veteran's Day on Thursday I might as well stay all week. I'll offer to drive down - I'll take him to the airport)
Looks like all WDW resorts. I don't know about Good Neighbor hotels. This in the info from the WDW website:
Tickets for this special event go on sale August 20. Guests of Disney Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, as well as Shades of Green at Walt Disney World Resort have access to purchase tickets beginning August 17 for event dates that occur during their hotel stay.

Doing this on a non park day is my plan. We have one built in. It will save us from going back/hopping to MK again after going there the first day and now the off day. The ice cream and popcorn can do us for supper.
I’m looking at going a day earlier for our potential trip b/c then we can do the party that’s cheaper. We have annual passes so we don’t save on reg ticket costs.

Wow, these prices are no joke. I’ll be passing since I don’t know if my group can stay awake that long, but I’m sure it’ll be a fun time for those that don’t mind the price.
Here’s the price breakdown by date:

For anyone who purchased Boo Bash tickets on first available day, what time of day did you call - 7am?

Has it been confirmed that early booking on the 17th must be by phone?

I don’t think I’m recent years they’ve offered any kind of AH or party the week of thanksgiving. Wonder if that will open up some of the park reservations that are currently unavailable.

Ticket sales began at 7 AM. Our reservation was through DVC, and it's my understanding that we had to call DVC MS which opens at 9 AM. I can't say whether or not that's 100% true, as I tried repeatedly to get through from 7-9 with no luck so I have no idea what would have happened had I gotten through. At 9 AM, I just moved on to calling DVC and got our tickets through them.

I highly doubt there will ever be a MNSSHP or MVMCP ever again.
I know. We really enjoyed MNSSHP more than MVMCP, although we typically did both on our fall trips. That is one of the reasons Boo Bash was a pass for us. I loved the parades and shows, especially watching the Headless Horseman. Very Merriest looks "closer" to the party, but I know to adjust my expectations and not compare it to the party.

Yes but it took HOURS before I could even get past a busy signal. Then I was on hold for maybe 2 hours?
So I will need to mentally prepare for that torture again. I can't remember what event it was for, but I do remember having an 8 hour wait once. You would think they could find a better way. Oh well, maybe, maybe, maybe early purchases can be done online this time.

I am trying to find out now. Talked to two different CMs on chat, both of whom said they have not been provided specific info about early purchases yet. I am currently on hold on the AP line to see if they know anything or can escalate to someone who may be able to tell me. I will let everyone know.

I do think that next year Boo Bash will be an hour longer and have the full parade with Headless Horseman, fireworks and overlays.
I would hope with the limited capacity they have this year though.
I had not even thought about that. I could probably get onboard for an event like that - something in between full party and regular after hours event, but with limited capacity. Good thinking!
