Wow, they're really changing the on site perks. We never stay on site, would rather save the ton of money by staying in a condo with full kitchen which saves on room & food. Without FP+, really not seeing much perk at all to staying onsite.

Right now, outside of transportation (and that's questionable) there isn't any advantage and that's the whole problem. We're still going to stay on site, but we downgraded from where we normally stay and mostly stayed on site for boat transportation to the MK. I'm just assuming that perks will return. As much as people are willing to accept these days, I don't believe they will continue to pay the high prices of Disney resorts without perks being returned. Perhaps values might, but I can't imagine paying $500 a night or more without more of a reason than being in the bubble.

and early entry is only for ONE park not both and also includes Annual Pass holders.
If you are referring to Universal, at very busy times, both parks have had EE. Not all APs get EE all the time. EE availability has also changed over the years; there used to be less availability for it.

I usually do split stays including a deluxe but this just doesn’t sit right with me. Pretty decent perk depending on how late this goes considering that deluxe hold far fewer guests… so I would expect pretty empty parks, but it just feels off. I know it’s a business and pay to play blah blah whatever. It just doesn’t sit right 🤷🏻‍♂️

It would be nice if they would give those of us staying on property before the 50th some perks! It sounds like the perks are only happening on October 1st.

If FP+ comes back, maybe onsite guests will get something (like one free fast pass a day or something along those lines - I have no idea really, just something would be nice.)

Honestly, they had to do something. We had quit doing emh's just because the crowds were so bad, just from all the resorts. This way at least, it will be fewer guests and maybe we can go back to doing them. I do think moderates and values should get something- those prices, for what those resorts are- are way out of line with off site hotels. But they just have too many resorts with too many people watering down the value of perks applied to all resorts.

As one with reservations in late July, I couldn't agree more. It's not like the parks are up and running July-September. Just toss us a crumb of something! They certainly didn't slash prices for those months.

I don't like this idea of extended hours for deluxe resort guests only. My last few trips I have stayed at the deluxe hotels but I don't usually book my vacations until about 60 days before them. I am afraid this might make it more challenging for me to book a deluxe hotel for a Disney trip. If this is the case that I can't book a deluxe and I won't have access to extended hours staying at a Moderate, I am just not going to book a Disney trip. It is bad enough that I already have to make plans around after hours events I am not attending (and no Disney Magical Express after this year). Not having access to extended hours staying at a Disney resort would lead me to book a different vacation altogether.

I don't have much issue with the perk itself, but it's yet another good thing happening after the summer ends for 'reasons'. I know staffing is part of all these conversations, but it's getting frustrating regardless, especially as staffing increases throughout the summer. Hopefully FP+ and as a long shot M&Gs are still in the cards by August.

My first thought was that this might mean they don't need to offer as many discounts on deluxe rooms since people may be more inclined to book them now.

Maybe they’re thinking with the Deluxe EMH less of those people will be doing Early Entry making that better for the other onsites. Plus EE is spread across 4 parks, should help make it much less crowded than old EMH in 1 park a day.

At first I was really irked with being cut to half an hour a day, but then I considered just what you were saying- the demand is spread over all 4 parks so it should alleviate the massive crowds they had when it was 1 park each day. It may be the trade off is worth it. We'd certainly give it a try. I have 0 interest in doing rope drop currently because it's just too crowded when everyone is allowed in at the same time.

I had just changed my plans from CBR to a split stay with Pop and AKL so I guess for at least part of the trip I will get the perk of night time EMH. Maybe in a way it will help make the crowds more tolerable for everyone? My thinking is that if I know I can go to MK for example in the evening with low crowds, then I won't bother with trying to get up early for rope drop. If other people plan the same way, it spreads the people out more throughout the day. I don't know, maybe I am just looking for the positive spin on it.

Edit: Oh obviously other people were thinking the same thing while I was typing!

I was just thinking this. One the one hand, it’s kind of nice to have an extra benefit when you’re spending that much money, but on the other hand, it’s super unfair to the people who can’t afford to spend that much, and I hope it isn’t too many nights that value, moderate, and offsite guests are blocked out from later evening hours.

The nights they don't have this will probably have after hour events so people can pay for it one way or another.

Yeah as someone who doesn’t stay at deluxe resorts this doesn’t help me out. I can get making the offering something for those paying a premium to stay on property though, just stinks for every other resort guest.

But we all pay a premium to stay on property. My room at Pop isn't anything less in quality imo than any of the deluxe. And yes, I realize the room sizes are different, the doors are inside etc. But when it comes down to it the queen beds and pillows are the same, the rest is just dressings. But it doesn't have the walkable location or a fancy pool slide. Everyone could pay less by staying on site and get nice hotels for the same or less money.

But park tickets cost the same for everyone so no, on property is not paying more for the parks. With hotels having FP priority and now every park having early park entry, off property guests do not have the same opportunity to ride rides.

Now if FP comes back different than how it was before shut down, like everyone has equal opportunity day of to get passes or everyone has to pay to have then I'm more ok with the early park entry. IF they had early park entry like it was before shut down, I'm ok with that too as in a weeks time there was always an opportunity to have equal access. Not so much anymore.

If they want to charge off property less for their tickets then I'd be ok with that too.
Sorry that’s an absurd argument b/c it’s “extra” hours & a perk associated with resort stays & not park tickets.

The issue is that so many people were clamoring to go on vacation they accepted all the hoops they had to jump through and Disney realized they could do/give less and charge more. I see a change coming next year, maybe around fall, when people have been out for a bit and realize they aren't happy with what their receiving for their premium $$$.

Kinda like a housing bubble, I'm hoping there Disney price bubble burst.
