Darn, would love to attend, but I can't do a November and a December trip! Always wanted to go to one of these, but it seems like most were always on the West Coast?

Ugh, this gave me pause about our August trip! The D23 Expo is generally West Coast and this one, Destination D23, is East Coast. They are in alternating years, so I can't believe our timing is so close, yet so far away. I just checked hotels, but Disney is sold out for that timeframe right now. Oh well.

Why are they still requiring mask on transportation?

Because that is still the CDC recommendation. Same reason they are still required on airplanes, in airports, on public buses/metro/subways, etc.
But they are not required on outdoor transportation like boats.

It’s not just CDC. It’s federal transportation regulations - USDOT and OSHA - that have not changed their rules yet. There are overlapping agencies and they have to get together with the CDC and come out with guidelines for public transportation. Disney transportation counts as public transportation.

I was surprised the guide didn't mention the underwater music in the big pool. Looking online, I see conflicting reports that it was removed some time ago. Does anyone know if it has ever come back?

Tried to book as well but DVC is sold out and resorts available are deluxe over $1000night... I will keep looking LOL

It’s a requirement for federal transportation, not a federal requirement for transportation. Disney is choosing to do it. They can opt out at their will.
