Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2023 Edition

I laughed when I saw the price. That ride is nowhere near worth $20. Guardians is a significantly better ride and it's cheaper too.

The only ride I would pay $20 for is Hagrid's at IoA (not Disney but is also a better ride than Tron).
I, too, might pay $20 for Hagrid's but only if it's at night and especially if I can guarantee the bike seat.

The motorbike seat on Hagrid's is more fun than any coaster at WDW IMO. I rode the sidecar on saturday and it was still fun but not as fun as the bike (also none of the animatronics were working. Poor Hagrid was slouched over as if he had too much to drink the night before </3).

Last week when I rope dropped ROTR it was sad. The probe droid didn't lower, Kylo Ren's light saber didn't come through the roof, the Kylo Ren audio animatronic figure was covered by the panel, the Finn audio animatronic wasn't working, and of course the cannons weren't moving/firing. Maybe Disney start offering Lightning Lame discounts.

Thankfully we have gamer fingers and knock on wood but I've never missed a VQ.
LOL This made me reconsider why DD got BG 3 on her very first try to get a BG. We were trying at the same time. I had been practicing for WEEKS. She didn't practice at all. I thought it was because she was young. So, maybe all those gaming console gifts over the years paid off.

I’m an older millennial who’s had a controller in my hand for most of my life and I never failed to get a single digit BG back in the Rise VQ days (I haven’t been back for any others). Every day I’m playing an online game that demands lightning fast response time. I’m used to this! 😂

I really really hope they let these guys be weird.

I'm not convinced it can be in pure order. How many people click at the exact same time, first moment it's available. There has to be quite a few, at which point it must determine an order. Definitely being faster is better, but I don't think you can guarantee being awarded an earlier BG. There must be a lot of factors.

I actually don’t think there’s enough people clicking at the same time for it to need some kind of additional algorithm to determine order, even with all the people trying at 7. Everyone’s not on an equal footing when it comes to phone speed, connection speed, etc. And that’s before considering how temperamental the app is. I’m inclined to think these factors sort it out

My problem with paying $20 a person for Rise is that there is a distinct possibility that half the ride might be down. I've now ridden it twice where the first half is not working at all, and you come in the Stormtrooper room through a plain corridor.

Knowing that, if I ever paid for an ILL going forward and half the ride was down, I'd be demanding my money back. It's very much a watered down experience.
Last week they bypassed the transport and gave everyone LL to ride again. So you got to ride twice, if you had time. Not sure if it was ever fully functional that day though.

I'm not sure what the point of these wonderfully innovative new rides are if half of it goes down frequently, and other parts don't work a lot of the time. Sorry, but it's a bad look for Disney, this ride isn't that old.

Good Morning!
