Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom Might Be Down for the Day

We popped over to chat to the Cast Members stationed at the entrances and they confirmed that the ride was down.

Though they did not elaborate on the cause for the closure they did say that the attraction may be down the entire day.

Seen it drained before late in the day and still opened up in last hour.

However that was back when it was in better condition, and not on its death bed.

Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil and Disney announces new performance schedule for 2023 including new matinee show times

Beginning Jan. 4, 2023, guests will be able to enjoy Drawn to Life with two performances daily, Wednesdays through Sundays at Disney Springs. Wednesday through Saturday showtimes will be 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. and two Sunday matinees at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

“Based on feedback from guests, we determined this new schedule will offer great daytime opportunities for travelers and locals to see the show, especially those with children,” said Heather Reilly, Drawn to Life Company Manager.
Hmmm do I want to look up price points for the 530 show on one of my black out days this spring hmmm

Villains Haunt Disney Mirrorverse in October

Starting Oct. 6, fans will scream – with equal parts delight and terror – that the king of the Underworld, Hades, is finally available to add to your Mirrorverse team! Sarcastically cruel and explosively volatile, in the Mirrorverse, Hades is amplified to command the denizens of his Underworld realm like an army that obeys all orders from their fiery general. Take on Hades’ Terrifying Trials event in-game from Oct. 6 through Oct. 18 … if you dare!

Harmonious Barges Continue to Face Ongoing Maintenance & Repair at EPCOT

Instead of an “ambient daytime look”, the Harmonious barges continue to face ongoing maintenance as crews continue to work on the barges today at EPCOT. The work appears to be to replace lighting elements that we’re told should be able to withstand the impacts of the nighttime show. It’s unclear what is leading to the replacement of the lighting elements, but this is not the first time we’ve seen this happen in the year that Harmonious has been running at EPCOT.

While Disney World originally aimed for daytime fountains on the barges, that idea was scrapped. It’s more common to see crews performing maintenance on the barges these days as rumors continue to swirl about their removal. Ever since Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced that there would be a new nighttime show coming to EPCOT in 2023, rumors have persisted about the removal of the barges, although Disney has not released any additional info about the new show.
Here’s a look at the work taking place today as crews ready the armada for tonight’s showing of Harmonious.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Load Mural Updated, Now Includes Space Mountain

The mural at the load area of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom has been repainted and updated. The mural isn’t drastically different from the old version. It still features a giant version of Zurg sending a line of robots toward Buzz and a ride vehicle of little green aliens. An orange robot dog has been added to Zurg’s army (not Sox, the orange robot cat from “Lightyear”). The planet and moons behind Zurg have been changed slightly to be more colorful. The mural is generally looking brighter since it was completely repainted.
The most notable difference is that what was once a ringed planet behind the little green aliens is now a Space Mountain-shaped Star Command station.

That's semi-interesting, not that I hate it. There were rumors that Space Mountain might be rethemed to Lightyear or at least get an overlay as they do at Disneyland, but with the movie largely a failure, I don't see that happening.

At Disneyland park, Walt Disney’s original Sleeping Beauty Castle will be dressed in style for the anniversary. Celebrating wonder, the castle will be adorned with elegant platinum banners and bunting, accented by a magnificent cabochon featuring the three Good Fairies who illuminate it with their shimmering pixie dust. “World of Color – One” at Disney California Adventure park will celebrate the storytelling legacy started by Walt Disney a century ago. It will tell a new story of how a single action, like a drop of water, creates a ripple that can grow into a wave of change. It brings some of the most courageous, loving and inspiring characters to life in new ways. The show will also feature a new original song, “Start a Wave.”

And at Disneyland park, Walt’s original magic kingdom will become a magnificent canvas with “Wondrous Journeys,” a new nighttime spectacular that will ignite the wonder in all of us. It will feature nods to every Walt Disney Animation Studios film to date, taking us on a journey filled with artistry, music, storytelling and heart. It will continue to build upon the park’s state-of-the-art projection effects, turning Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the Rivers of America into an artist’s canvas that brings characters to life all around you. On select nights, “Wondrous Journeys” will go even bigger with the addition of sparkling fireworks in the sky above Disneyland. This spectacular will also feature an incredible new song, “It’s Wondrous.”

While Mickey’s Toontown is slated to reopen for guests in spring 2023, we are pleased to announce that the new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction will open early as we kick off the Disney100 anniversary celebration on Jan. 27!

In time for spring, the “Magic Happens” parade will have its long-awaited return to Disneyland park. “Magic Happens” celebrates the awe-inspiring moments of magic that are at the heart of so many Disney stories. This parade reminds us we don’t need wings to fly, shooting stars were made to wish upon, and magic doesn’t stop at midnight.

Plus, even more special entertainment moments are slated to pop up across the resort. Additional news and details for the Disney100 celebration at Disneyland Resort will be shared ahead of the debut on Jan. 27, 2023.

*PLEASE NOTE:

*As you begin to plan your trip to visit Disneyland Resort for the Disney100 anniversary, please know that theme park reservation availability for Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park is currently paused for dates beyond Jan. 8, 2023, and will resume for guests in the coming weeks.

I'll be logging in exactly 60 days out to make my park reservations for the day before all of the Key passes are gone...hopefully. And I already cry at World of Color, I'm going to be a mess with this one! Also, super excited for Magic Happens to come back. We got to see it on its soft opening in February 2020 and I never got to see it again before the park closed.
