Space Mountain Returning on July 5 at Disneyland Park

Space Mountain temporarily become Hyperspace Mountain this summer in honor of May the 4th and Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite. The classic version of Space Mountain is expected to reopen on July 5, 2022, according to the Walt Disney World website.

The Hyperspace Mountain overlay puts guests into a dogfight within the “Star Wars” universe. Star Wars: Hyperspace Mountain currently exists as the apparently permanent Space Mountain overlay in Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland.

A wait list? Really?

I feel like the whole reservation system has created an artificial sense of demand and is causing scarcity. The park Res system is the new Covid toilet paper.
It is not that much of a deal as a large part of the AP holders of DLP are in France with a few hour radius. Even a large part of Belgium is within 2 hours. So being on the wait list is not that much of an inconvience (I think)

The other European APs who live further away usually go for a couple of days anyway and need a hotel. An onsite hotel stay automatically includes a park reservation. I haven't made a reservation in over a year or because of this rule.

My 4 star hotel in Paris (#1 traveler rated on TripAdvisor) with breakfast included was $270 a night for a two person room. You can't even get a moderate resort for that at WDW.
Yup, one of my hotel stays also included a free dim sum breakfast that was superior to any breakfast I had at Disney (World or Land). I also stayed at an Airbnb for around $100 a night that was a 5 minute public bus ride to Tokyo Disneyland (where tickets for that park was $120 for 2 days) and included a full kitchen/laundry room set up.

And yeah I get the captive audience argument the other poster made. Even then I still think a lot of stuff at the parks is overpriced. On my last trip I barely bought any snacks due to the price and brought my own. I do agree with your other reply that you can get SO much more value at other places at the moment.

The front of Fantasyland Station has been blocked off as well.

‘Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular’ Actor Billy Kametz Passes Away at 35

Billy Kametz, who portrayed Aladdin during the last year of “Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular” at Disney California Adventure, passed away at the age of 35 this week from colon cancer.

Kametz got his break as an actor on Disney Cruise Line and later moved to California, where he was offered the role of Aladdin in the stage show. He performed at the Hyperion Theater in Disney California Adventure until the show closed in January 2016.

Park Reservations “Wait List” Introduced at Disneyland Paris

For guests who want to visit Disneyland Paris but have found that theme park reservations are full for the date they want to visit, a new waitlist feature has been rolled out to the park reservations system. As noted by DLPReport, Annual Passholders are now able to join a waitlist for dates that are already full. If a date becomes available, Passholders who have joined the waitlist will get the reservation.

Any idea if you will be able to monitor your status on the list?

Man, that Aladdin show was SO GOOD! I don't know if I saw Billy in it, but I did go around a year or so before it closed, so maybe.

RIP.

I paid $5.25 for a McFlurry. Things are costly at Disney but I’ve noticed higher prices everywhere. A while back I shared that a 2 night trip to Hershey at their “lodge resort” with 2 park days for four was around $1,400.

That is incredibly sad. He was so young. 🥲

Yeah I have too. The trip that I was referring to happened before the pandemic so there's no doubt that it's more expensive now. I would still pick an experience like that before WDW any day in terms of value.
