For anyone who has been to the Marathon Expo in the past...I was wondering how long did it take you to pick up your information and visit the various booths. We are planning to go on Friday afternoon but didn't know how long it would take to see the different things they had for sale. Not really interested in any speakers, etc. since we want to go to Epcot that afternoon and evening.

Bumping cause I too would like to know how long to plan for this :)

Best of Luck JRoglitz!!!!! My friends and I are doing our first 1/2 Marathon, it's going to be a blast! :)

It kind of depends on how many are in line ahead of you. You have to find your number on the board and fill out the release and then find a vacant table to pick up your bag. You can spend hours at the expo because there are so many vendors there, plus they give out freebees. You can buy shoes, socks, shorts, jackets, shirts, Official Marathon goodies, plus so much more. You could be out in 15 minutes if you skip the expo. We did the expo and picked up our package on Friday afternoon (the weather was nice). If you do the 5k and family races, you have to pick up stuff on Friday. If you are only doing the marathon (full or half), you can pick up your stuff on Friday or Saturday.

We went back to the expo on Saturday afternoon because we weren't able to get some of the official marathon stuff in the size we needed until then.

The expo covers the entire floor of the basketball court area. You pick up your packages on the upper floor in the back.

The three times I've raced, the lines moved pretty quickly. They are usually quite organized.
I think you will get a postcard in the mail with your race number, so don't forget to bring that. Also, bring a photo ID...I'm trying to remember if they asked for one (they definitely do for triathlons)...but have it on you, just in case.

Have fun!! Wish I were racing...will prob. go back in 2006.

Thanks IronZ and Deb. IronZ's message reminded me about the number, the 3 in my group received our numbers about a week ago. Just a heads up that they are mailing for those who haven't gotten their's yet. Can't wait!!!!!
