Disney Idiosyncrasies

-Ok...here is my true crazy confession. Before going on a trip (like months in advance), I will start counting Mickey antenna toppers. I set a target number to reach, and if I surpass that by the time I enter the WDW gates, it means "good luck" will come to our trip. Yes, this is TRULY crazy stuff! My husband makes so much fun of me. (It's good that we live in S. Florida where there are plenty of ears...yet not statically speaking the numbers have gone down now that less cars have antennas.) :dance3:

:sad2::laughing:

We, ok, *I* have to take a million pics of the castle.:confused3

We collect pins, and if we ride a new ride...we buy a pin of the ride. Last year dd rode dinosaur and it scared her to pieces. But, adding the pin to her lanyard made it work it. DS rode ToT, of course we bought a million things to go with this because myself, dhm and ds rode it for the first time.

We buy a Christmas ornament to go on the tree. THIS is buy far my fave. I could spend hours in Christmas stores.

My kids LOVE Splash and big thunder of course...but, the boat taxi holds a special place in hearts.

I think that may be it.

OMG! I almost forgot about our ornaments! We buy one with the year and then just a decorative one! Our tree is all disney!

How many ornaments have you gathered?

After walking into MK I always have to take a minute on Main Street and just look up at the castle. At that very moment I have an overwhelming feeling of peace but yet excitement at the same time. princess: Here are some of the other things that we have to do everytime:

I take a ba-jillion pics of my daughter on the balcony/patio of every resort and every line we are standing in.
We have to ride It's a Small World - NO MATTER WHAT::yes::
I have to get a rootbeer & chocolate float from the ice cream shop on Main Street.
I have to get something from Casey's.
I have to walk thru the Art of Disney at DTD.
I have to go through the "garage sale" as we call it (the shop attached to the Winnie the Pooh store at DTD.
My daughter & I usually always wear the same color of shirt.

I could go on & on.....:mickeyjum

DO IT THEN!:rotfl:

So, you guys like going to MK first, buying pins, and getting ornaments. Good stuff!

How many do you have now?

Around 10 I think. Probably more that are lost :) And I like the ornament idea. I kind of want to start that tradition. I think there is a Xmas store in DD, right? Do they ship back what you bought to your room to like they do at the park stores?

I am sure 'minnie' more have the ornament idea too, they are just won't admit it...:snooty::laughing:

I have no idea about the shipping part, you would have to ask someone else.

My husband and daughter always get a picture taken with their fingers stuck in the nose of the gorilla on the tree of life...every visit! :rotfl2:
We always start our trip and end it in the MK. Not really a wierd thing, more like a tradition.

We always make a beeline to Dumbo for our first ride on our MK day.

It's not a trip to WDW without going to see the Country Bear Jamboree. I know it's not everyone's favorite, but it reminds me of going with my parents.

Gorilla nostrils?! :rotfl:

Everyone starts at MK! :woohoo:

These aren't all goofy or silly things you do, they can also be traditions.:lovestruc

We do Dumbo first too!

Last day at MK we get a Dole Whip on the way out :). :sad2: because it means we are going home.

We also have to always get a picture in front of this sign :

Because we are from Milwaukee, and it's cool to see our hometown with all these other cities!

COOL! We do the same thing. The sign is right near the entrance of Hollywood Studios. I'm from Milwaukee also! :thumbsup2

Nice to see a fellow Mil-towner here! When we first saw that sign, I did a double take. Wait, Milwaukee is on there?! Photo op!

I have a huge pair of rhinestone/crystal dangle earrings in the shape of a hidden mickey. I only wear them at Disney.

For our family we always schedule a half day in the parks on our departure day. We have to hit a bakery on the way out, in the past it's been the one on main street but lately we've done the bakery in EPCOT's Paris. On the plane ride home when everyone else is eating pretzels, I pull out our bakery bagor box and our family has a little assortment of Disney goodies. It's just our little way of extending the magic.

Those people are probably wishing the pretzels were at least in the shape of a hidden Mickey.

I always go to EPCOT the first night I arrive, then MK the next day! For some reason it's become a tradition. Then, since my friends depend on me to do all the planning, I can work it in without any protests! :rotfl: I also always eat at Casey's at least once a trip, usually while waiting for the parade and fire works.

I like to start and end my trip with the MK
Must have 1 meal at Casey's (although I won't be able to on next trip because it's being refurbed....dang it)
DD and I find time to go to the Poly, and have a cup of coffee from Kona
Must have a picture taken in front of the Partners Statue in MK
Must have a Dole Whip
If time permits, we try to have breakfast at O'Hana's

Upon leaving, I always turn around looking at the Castle and say Good Bye...see you next time....with tears in my eyes
