Disney Idiosyncrasies

We always end up eating lunch at Pinocchio's Village Haus. I like seeing It's a Small World from there.

I always take a picture of the Castle upon entering the Magic Kingdom.

I always enter the MK by monorail and leave by the boats!

I have a Mickey Mouse watch that I wear on every trip that I got in 1986. I have replaced the crystal and band numerous times but it still looks great.

We have a few habits when we arrive at WDW.

- We always go to Magic Kingdom first
- I always take a picture of the decoration on the light post on the corner by the Confectionary shop as soon as we get in MK for our first day.
- Our first ride is ALWAYS the Haunted Mansion or "Ghosties" as my DS calls it.

On our final day, we always finish the night with a ride on Pirates and try to be there right at closing on the last boat. Of course saying goodnight and thanks for a great trip to George.

I'm sure there are other "Idiosyncrasies", but these are our favorites!

Andrew

We always start our trip with dinner at T rex ir RFC in DD.
Always start our first full day with Chef Mickey's and MK is always our first day.
I have to have a banana smoothie in MK.
My kids always get a turkey leg in MK.
Always end our trip with Epcot fireworks.

We always do MK as our first park and we always eat at The Plaza as our first meal.

My family (DH, DSs, and I) wear only disney shirts to the parks, and the boys usually match (or at least the same character). And this means we have one heck of a collection of shirts!

I wear my mickey head earrings everyday we are there and then for a month after we get home!

I buy 2 magnets (one pic holder and one w/ the year) and a picture frame for my dining room (my disney room :thumbsup2 in my house)

Our last full day has to be at Epcot or MK, the shows (Illuminations or Wishes) are our way of saying goodbye til next time!

Great thread I love everyones traditions!

We always have our picture taken in front of the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse sign.

And we all have clothes (mostly shirts) that we wear only at Disney, they stay packed in our Disney tubs the rest of the year, it makes it easy to pack for quick trips, though.

And we only wear Disney shirts to the parks except when DH's football team is playing and that day he will wear one of his game day shirts. Worked out really well last year, he is a University of Tennessee fan and got to meeet Frontierland Donald (who is his fav charecter) while wearing his UT shirt.

I only eat ice cream at WDW. I eat Mickey Bars and Dole Whips. Nothing else all year. I'm just not that big of a fan of ice cream except there.

the traditional heel click when u first walk into the park i personally am the only person in my family who does this but always have to do it

I MUST step onto main street and take it all in the first day....And get a dole whip :goodvibes

We fly out very early in the morning. If our villa isn't ready when we arrive, we eat lunch at the resort, then find comfortable furniture (on the veranda at BWV, the Solarium at BC, the pool at AKL) so we can read and nap. As soon as we can get into our room, we take another nice nap. DVC has allowed us to be very laid back and just enjoy being there, rather than running to do stuff. That first evening we have a TS dinner and see fireworks or the Osborne lights, depending on the season.

I have a WDW fishing hat I only wear there.

We usually stay at POR the night we arrive (gotta see Bob Jackson)

We normally eat at the Plaza our last day in MK (tradition started during honeymoon)

I only wear my disney pins at WDW to keep our passes, keys, etc. in the lanyard pouch

On our first trip we were leaving MK on our last day in the park and nobody wanted to leave (does anyone ever want to leave !!?) so we saw the train and said...come on, one more ride!! So we took the steam train around the entire park just enjoying all the sights.
This has now become a family tradition, no matter what our park schedule is, we always have to end up at MK riding the train "one last time" on our final day.
Our first ride was with my son who was 18 months at the time, he is now 20 and reminds us about "the schedule" !!:)

I like my first ride to be the TTA/Peoplemover. When you get to MK and get over that first overwhelmingly wonderful feeling its a great way to kick things off (after grabbing a FP of course:goodvibes)!

I have Mickey Crocs I wear only at Disney.

I carry and use those annoying plastic rain ponchos!

And my 2 food must haves are a dole whip of some variety and a Lighthouse Sandwich...yum.

After we get checked in, we always head to the MK first thing!

Each of us picks out an ornament at the Christmas shop at DTD every trip. Then, when Christmas comes around, we put the year on the ornaments so we remember when we got them.

We always spend our last day and night at the MK. We eat at Tony's that night. The People Mover a.k.a. TTA is usually our last ride of the trip. When we are leaving the MK for the last time of the trip, we stop at the end of Main St. by the train station and look at the Castle. We smile and say "Thank-you for an amazing trip! See you next year!"

We always have to get a picture of our feet around our stone in front of the MK.

We usually try to get an ADR for Chef Mickey's for our first night.

I have a Tinkerbell necklace that I only wear at WDW.

I have Dr. Scholl's flip-flops that I only wear at WDW.

I have a Disney D&B purse that I only use at WDW.

I have a pair of Mickey earrings that I bought on the 1st trip we took the kids to Disneyland back in 1998. Now whenever we have a trip planned I wear the earrings every day starting at the 30-Days-to-go mark for good luck.

I don't know what I'd do if I lost them!! :scared1:

So far, everyone NEEDS an item of jewelry or clothing to wear, the leaders are earrings and shirts. Also, The Crystal Palace and The Plaza are hot spots for first meals at Disney!:)

We always have breakfast at CP on our last day.
When we see Wishes, DH hugs me when, "Like a bolt out of the blue....." comes on, because he knows the tears are coming
I love that part of the song so much, that it was the last song we played at our wedding.
