Disney Hilton any thoughts??

And what is the best way to get to Hilton DTD from the airport? Do they have a shuttle running back and forth there?

Does DTD mean Down Town Disney? If so, there is not a Hilton called Down Town Disney.

I canceled a room at Disney animal kingdom lodge to stay at the Hilton at Disney. We are going on a Disney cruise and are spending a ton for that, so in attempt to cut costs elsewhere I booked the Hilton using a timeshare deal. ( have to listen to the talk) to get the rate. Anyway, I am regretting canceling Disney AKL and I was wondering if anyone could share their experience at the Hilton at Disney to help me make my choice before it is too late to cancel.. Thanks so much!!

Don't regret canceling AKL. Although we loved staying there in 2009, we simply couldn't justify the cost for our upcoming trip. (We're also doing a cruise, though on the Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas.)

What it came down to was just how little time we actually spent enjoying AKL in 2009 - virtually, we were there just to sleep and to have a few meals. That's it. We never even dipped our toes in the pool or participated in any of their resort activities.

I don't know which Hilton you're booked with (Hilton DTD, Hilton Bonnet Creek, or Hilton Parc Soleil?). Some are suites and some are standard hotel rooms. For our upcoming trip, we're staying in a 1-bedroom suite at the Hilton Parc Soleil before/after our cruise. What's neat about this Hilton is having the washer/dryer in our suite, so we can do our laundry before the cruise and after the cruise, and pack a bit lighter during our 2-week trip. I can even have the laundry going while I'm having fun at WDW!!! LOL.

Yes, DTD = Downtown Disney. People around here use that description for the one on Hotel Plaza Boulevard (since those hotels are on Disney property, adjacent to DTD) to differentiate it from other properties. I think its official name is the Hilton Lake Buena Vista.

I would be genuinely interested to hear about the timeshare deal. We love Hilton properties and have been considering buying into a hotel timeshare system.

I have stayed at both the Hilton BC and the Hilton DTD.....both are excellent properties. I think my first pick would be HBC though....the pool area tips the scale for me.
