Disney Gives Me the Warm Fuzzies. January 2010 PreTrip Report. Update 11/6 Pg. 79

The alligators?

Am I allowed to laugh? :lmao: Because that's just cute. We all have our things, I guess. :thumbsup2

Yes you are. I laughed too.

He says they are creepy and frighten small children. He actually went as far to say that we shouldn't stay there when we have kids. :rotfl2:

I can't believe I forgot to say this in my update. :lmao:

You're talking about the cute mascots at the pool, right? :lmao:

:lmao: Yes, those would be the creepy alligators. I believe he didn't like the slide either.

I will admit that they remind me of the bad alligators in Robin Hood but I would never not stay at POFQ because of them. :rotfl2:

I am laughing out loud. Please offer my apologies to Marc. I love quirks like this, it makes the world go round. :lmao:

Today is 150 days until Disney in January!!

That seems like a really long time. :headache: Especially when you go from just over a month, to 150 days. Oh well. I am sure the time will speed right by. And I'm really looking forward to escaping the yucky New England weather in January, I hate snow.

I figured today we'd talk Budget. I hate Math. I don't know if I have ever fully conveyed on here how much I hate Math. Yes I know it's ironic that I work at a bank but thankfully my job has just about zero math in it and any math I do has a calculator involved. I struggled with Math in school and was unfortunate to have some less than stellar Math teachers. So bad they were that when I was in tears my Senior Year struggling with Algebra 2 with my sweet patient teacher that he actually could pinpoint what Math teachers I had in Middle School. It made me feel like my less than stellar Math skills weren't entirely my fault.

So all of that to say that I am not a fan of working out Budgets and doing Math, thank goodness for Fuzzy Disney Math and Jen for helping me work out things financial in regards to Disney.

Hotel: $400 approx. This is splitting the nights with Jen that she is there and paying for two of the nights myself. I've already paid $100 so I'm looking at $300 more. I haven't officially added the extra night on for myself but do plan to call and do that soon. The hotel is very reasonable but I'm still hoping for an AP rate. Jen scored an awesome one last year at this time of year so fingers crossed! :worship:

Park Tickets: Seeing that I'm planning the November trip with Marc, I think my best bet is to purchase an Annual Pass. By my calculations with Tax that will be $520. :scared1: That is a huge chunk of change but I know that I will make out in the end and I'm going to need it since I'll arrive before Jen if we are able to score an AP rate.

Food: I think this is the hardest part for me to figure out right now. I have no idea how much I will be eating. Jen and I have decided not to do the Dining plan because it just doesn't make sense for me. I think our plan is to do 1 Table Service meal per day and the rest will be CS. I'm going to be eating much smaller meals. I think I will do a garden grocer order or bat my eyelashes at Jen to have her pick me up some food supplies on her way down. :rolleyes1 Having those will help my food budget a bit. It's hard to plan but after my surgery I should have a better idea.

Flight: I have a $182.50 credit from Southwest. WOOT! It's a nice thing to know that my flights are pretty much paid for. Southwest should be releasing their schedule through my January trip at the beginning of September.

Souvenirs/Miscellaneous:
I'm not going to go overboard with Souvies I have been known to do in the past. :rolleyes1 I'm thinking a nice round $100 extra for little things is a good way to go about a Souvie budget.

Geez Louise! How does everything add up so quickly?

I think the scariest thing budget wise for me is the Annual Pass. They are expensive! But I break even with the November trip, it just depends if I can put out that money all at once in time for the January trip. If I'm not able to do it then I won't. I'm not going to stress myself out over it. I do have a left over one day ticket that I think I can apply to the AP upgrade so that does help a bit.

I'm not going to stress over this trip. I want to enjoy myself, not over plan and just have fun with Jen. Who knows when we will be able to see each other again after this trip and I want to make sure we both have a fabulous time!

Warm Fuzzies.

Jen: Finding a rare character and taking a picture with them.

LL: Watching the movie montage at the end of The Great Movie Ride.

Oh, I know how you feel about the annual pass! The thought of upgrading the three of us to them, even though I know it makes financial sense, makes me want to cringe!

It's just hard to lat you that much cash at once, so I understand how you feel.

Even though making a budget stinks, doesn't it help to write it all out? I always feel so much better when I do.

I will admit that they remind me of the bad alligators in Robin Hood but I would never not stay at POFQ because of them. :rotfl2:

:lmao: I'd suggest you steer clear of Boardwalk and the clown slide as well. :rotfl: The clown seriously scares the you know what out of me!

Ah the budget. A necessary evil. :headache::headache: I'm with you... hate all math except fuzzy Disney math.

The AP. It is a big chunk of change. But based on your plans it seems like the smart choice. And just think about how it will "enable" additional trips during that year period. Yup- watch out - a lot harder to resist when you already have tickets!

Am really loving the warm fuzzies with each of your updates! :goodvibes

I am right there with you about math!

Disney does seem to add up so quickly! Thank goodness it is all for fun stuff when you think about it).

Jen, I love your movie montage warm fuzzy -- I always get teary-eyed during it!

Oh, the movie montage! I love that so much. We haven't been on the GMR in a while. I think that is my very favorite part of the entire ride. :lovestruc

I don't know if you've ever done Garden Grocer before, but my mom LOVES it. She gets our essentials, like milk, some bottled water, and some little snack things (like Lunchables), and since we don't get a fridge or do a fridge swap at Pop, she'll also order a styrofoam cooler that we just keep filling with ice from the machines.

That's so funny that Marc didn't like the looks of the alligators at POFQ! They are a little weird but that wouldn't stop me from staying there. A clown slide at the Boardwalk, though, would definitely stop me from going there -- I saw a clown at Fanuiel Hall yesterday and was completely terrified. I had to make a wide berth AND walk with my hand covering that side of my face. :rotfl:

Yeah, the annual pass purchase seems like a huge commitment! Scary too even though it does make financial sense. I'm glad others feel like I do!

It does help write it all out, I write these kinda updates more for myself because then I get it all down and it makes more sense to my brain.

See, the clown slide doesn't bother me at all. I don't think it bothers Marc either. I want to stay at Boardwalk so badly!

No more enabling! I have my vacationing scheduled figured out through 2011 for the most part and there will be no more 2010 Disney trips! Marc will have every electronic imaginable if I keep going to Disney and we just don't have the room for them in our apartment! ;)

I am right there with you about math!

Yes, thank goodness it's for Disney happiness.

That was my movie montage warm fuzzy. I get a little teary eyed too when I watch it. I'm a sentimental sap.

Clowns have never really bothered me but I know they bother a lot of people.

LOL if I'm not a walking example of this I don't know who is!!! I bought the AP in January just because I figured what was another 10.00 and I might get a chance to go back...and VIOLA...I will have 4 trips out of one AP knowing your tickets are taken care of makes it WAY easier to make a trip!!

Ummmm...I'm always willing to help and I will have a fairly large rental car so just give me a list you silly girl and I will bring whatever you would like me to bring grocery wise!!!

Although I get it...you know how frugal I can be... so I know dishing out that much money is not easy at all...actually its downright scary! But yes no stressing out about this trip we are going to have a great time I just know it!!!

And despite you not knowing when you'll see me next, I know exactly when I'll see you next LOL...I'm just going to have to surprise you and show up on your doorstep LOL!!!!!

You would think I would have noticed that -- it being in your purple color and all. Oops! :flower3:

I can't even use the excuse that it was early in the morning and I hadn't had enough coffee yet...

Well then, I will just have to give you my grocery shopping list for when you come down. :rotfl2: ;) Don't say I didn't warn you.

We are going to have a great time, I just know it.

That's okay. We all have our moments. I have at least 5 a day. Lately I think I have already told something to Marc and I haven't. I feel like I'm slowly going crazy. :rotfl2:

It's only a week your list can't be that big, besides you have to remember how I pack...so you take that into consideration when making that list of yours for me LOL:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I do remember how you pack! Oy! ;)

Well off the top of my head...this is what I have...

Water...no soda anymore so that is all I will be drinking.
Protein Shakes
Fruit
Protein Bars

Now some of this stuff I can pack myself but the water and fruit for sure!

:lmao: I have those exact same moments; you're not alone. I now generally have to preface things with, "I can't remember if I told you this, but..." or, "did I tell you about _____ already?" When my dad does similar things, my mom jokingly calls it a senior moment. I don't know what it could be called when I do it.
