Disney Gives Me the Warm Fuzzies. January 2010 PreTrip Report. Update 11/6 Pg. 79

Hi LL!!
I've finally got the chance to catch up here and see what was new!!

Sounds like a fantastic trip planned with Jen! I'm excited you and Jen get to go again together (right after my birthday 1/13!!) and staying at POP...love POP, it's a great resort and the price is right!!:thumbsup2

And I'm excited about your trip with Marc, too!! My DH and I honeymooned at Dixie Landings, love it, it's really beautiful there!!! You're going to love it, too!!:lovestruc

Congrats on the weight loss, you're doing great!!!! :thumbsup2 Keep up the good work!!:thumbsup2 It's SO hard to lose weight...and so easy to lose focus, you're doing so great!! I'm praying and thinking of you with your upcoming surgery!!!

Looking forward to hearing more about the upcoming trip(s)!!!!:surfweb:
Pop is a great resort and you can't beat the price for staying on Disney property!

Thanks for all the support with my weight loss. I was in a slump the last few days but I'm feeling a bit better today. :thumbsup2

ps-- LOVE the warm and fuzzies, too!!!!:lovestruc
I'm glad you are enjoying them!

I'm so glad you guys are going back on another trip together in November!!!! You will have a really romantical time indeed!
Yes, I am quite looking forward to our romantical time. I was telling the nutritionist yesterday about January and then November for Marc & I. She thinks it's great we are planning a trip to celebrate our 1 Year Surgery Anniversary. :rotfl2:

Made it here and all caught up! I think you were wise to postpone. One just never knows how they'll feel after a surgery. All the best with it, coming up soon!
Your trip with Jen sounds great and I like Pop as a hotel, economical but fun!
Love your warm fuzzies too!
Allyson
I feel much better about postponing. I think it would have been way hard for me to go. I'm really looking forward to January. I think the time will go by fast too, with my surgery and then Marc's and then it will be Christmas time and then time to go to Disney! :rotfl:

I'm finally reading your budget update...being gone for 3 days from the DIS does a number to a person! ;)

I don't like doing the budget either, but Fuzzy Disney Math is always fun. ::yes:: The AP is a killer, and beware, it just makes you want to cram more and more trips in during the year you have it! The only other thing I have read online about trying to get a cheaper AP is to buy a 10 day Park Hopper from a ticket broker with their discounted tickets, use one so they become "activated" by Disney (and therefore at their price) and then upgrade it. Usually you end up saving $20+, but there is some pre-planning of buying the tickets, and some time involved to exchange them. Not sure if any of that made ANY sense, but there is always chatter on the Budget Board about this method...

Or just buy DVC, then you get a discount! :lmao:
Hmmm...that's a good idea bout the 10 day tickets BUT I think the fact that I already have one ticket to upgrade that I should probably just stick with that method. Good to know though! Thanks for telling me about that.

Hi there! I was over on your other PTR and didn't realize you had started your new one! I have been a bad Diser!
I love your and Jen's warm fuzzies! What a great addition to your report and I look forward to seeing what you both come up with. :goodvibes
Very happy for you that everything is falling into place for your surgery. I just know you will do great! :flower3:

I love your warm fuzzies!!!! TOOOOOOOOOOo cute. :goodvibes They make me smile!!!! I especially loved the Spectro music :cloud9: It takes weeks to get it out of my head when I start.... :rolleyes1

OH I think your budget plans sound just right for this kind of trip. :thumbsup2 I would tell you do the AP if you can, it is like everyone else is saying, it already would be "less" if you go twice and it would be FREE if you go a third time, which it sounds like you might do... That is why WE are doing three trips, gotta get our money's worth!!!! And if I add a solo in March, well, that would be four!!!

Anyhow, I am very happy to hear that your pre-OP preparations are going well, that 18 lbs is GREAT!!!!! Bravo to you.

Looking forward to more, AS ALWAYS!! :goodvibes

:cool1: Joining in! I just got caught up and it sounds like you ladies have a great trip planned so far!

I love your warm fuzzies! I get the same feeling when I think if disney things!

Can't wait to read more!

LL, in case I don't get back here in the next few days, I want to wish you all the best with your surgery. I'll be thinking of you and praying for you!

Same here with the Spectro music. I love it though.

I don't know if I'll squeeze in three trips in a year but we'll see. Shhh...we won't tell Marc about a possible third trip yet. Though while I'm all sickly after surgery and he's feeling bad for me....maybe that would be a good time to bring it up.

Same here, LL. Best of everything as you get ready for this big week!
Thanks MeMom!

The 26th is the day, right LL? I'll definitely be praying that everything goes smoothly.:goodvibes: I'm sure you'll be in and out in no time and be on your way to your weight loss goals. You've done a great job so far! :cheer2:

Just wanted to jump in, LL, and wish you all the best. Good luck with your surgery, and may your recovery period be a breeze! :goodvibes

Another well wish from me :goodvibes. I'll be thinking of you on your big day! You are going to do great.

I do think you should work that third trip while Marc is feeling very sorry for you.;)

I think I'm going to try and get the sympathy agreement from Marc. You all won't tell on me will you?

I haven't been doing much trip planning lately, in fact I haven't even really been thinking about January too much. Crazy, eh? ;)

It's kinda nice though, I'll be sitting at my desk at work and all of a sudden "I'm going to Disney in January with Jen" will pop into my head. Then I get all happy and excited. So it's nice to be a bit busy with everything if only to get that surge of happiness every once in awhile about the upcoming trip. I'm crazy...I know. :rotfl:

Jen and I have been talking about plans a bit. It's still a little hard to plan though since we don't have park hours yet. We've also discussed ADRs a little bit. Nothing is concrete yet except for one very important ADR.

Does anyone have a guess?

Hmmm...should I tell you? :rolleyes1

:lmao: I crack myself up.

The one ADR that we are 100% set on is Hollywood Brown Derby. YAY! Salmon Polenta here I come. I don't care if I can only take three bites of the meal, it will be three of the most delicious bits ever. :cloud9: I've also requested that when we go to Hollywood Studios that we try to get a Brown Derby ADR for close to closing so we might be able to see Hollywood Studios a bit empty. I am thinking that the park hours won't be on the late side this time in January so it's looking good for that to happen.

I haven't officially added an extra day to the trip yet. For some reason I can't commit to it yet. Who knows what is wrong with me?! I did request that Wednesday off from work though so I am sure it will happen at some point. I also thought about just taking a later flight on Wednesday night and arriving in Disney after dinner time and then just have a full solo day in the parks on Thursday before Jen arrives.

Jen will be leaving from work on Thursday and driving straight through to Disney. I think she said she would be arriving around 11PM - Midnight so we'll sleep in a bit and then head to a breakfast. Which is where we need opinions.

We want to go to a breakfast buffet this morning. I think 1900 Park Fare is leading the running of the choices but I want to make sure that I partake in breakfast pizza and I'm not sure if they have that there. Can anyone confirm this??

So what breakfast buffet is your favorite? Which one gives you Warm Fuzzies if you will and why? It will give me something to ponder this week. We are planning to go to Animal Kingdom this day after our buffet since we feel it's not a park that we must be there for rope drop...at least for this trip so location is not a problem.

That's really the extent of my planning for this trip. I haven't made a single list yet! I plan to remedy this while I'm recovering from surgery. Maybe that is why I haven't been in planning mode, I'm gearing up for uber planning mode while I'm recovering. :lmao:

I really have been overwhelmed with all of my doctor's appointments and such. I've had a lot to get checked out but the good news is insurance approved my surgery...YAY! The cardiologist cleared me for surgery...YAY! And I'm nervous as can be. BOO!

Everyone keeps telling me everything will be fine and I am sure it will but I have never had surgery, a broken bone, even stitches. So I'm pretty much terrified of the unknown at this point. My surgery is on Wednesday, probably in the morning sometime. I'll find out for sure on Tuesday.

Jen will be keeping in touch with Marc on Wednesday and will post an update here on this PTR to let you all know how it went. Marc was feeling overwhelmed with signing on the DIS plus he plans to spend most of the day at the hospital with me and I didn't want to keep you all waiting. Thanks Jen!

So this will likely be the last update until after my surgery. I'm off of work for four weeks so I'll be updating quite a bit I'm sure!

Thank you for all of your support while I have been gearing up for this!!

See ya real soon.

Disney Warm Fuzzies.

Jen: Finally realizing there really is a cowboy version of the Great Movie Ride.

LL: When you walk up to any of the parks and you haven't been through the ticket turnstiles yet but you can hear the park music beckoning you in.

I forgot to add...

That I have been following along on PTRs and TRs just not always commenting, it was super busy at work last week and I have just been so busy personally.

I promise to catch up while I'm recovering!! :goodvibes

Well, first and foremost, GOOD LUCK with the surgery. :goodvibes I am so proud of you for doing this and am so excited for you! And thank you, Jen, for keeping us posted b/c I will be anxious for news! :)

Hurrah for Brown Derby being a must do. 3 positively delicious bites those will be. I cannot wait to eat there again. I'm actually making cobb salad for dinner tonight but am sure it will be nowhere near as yummy. :sad2:

Breakfast buffet. Hmmmm. I haven't been yet but hear nice things about Cape May at Beach Club. And then you can scoot in the World Showcase entrance to Epcot. World Showcase, as we know, gives me the warm fuzzies. ;)

Good luck!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

LL: When you walk up to any of the parks and you haven't been through the ticket turnstiles yet but you can hear the park music beckoning you in.

YES :cloud9: I love that about ALL the parks but Epcot is my absolute favorite one to hear the music from. I can't WAIT for that.

I'll be at work on Wednesday but I WILL be checking in before work and after work. I'm glad that Jen will be keeping us updated via Marc. Another well wish from me.

Not shocked about the Brown Derby!

Good Luck on Wed. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

1900 PF is our favorite breakfast buffet. Strawberry Soup :cloud9: (of course they have it at dinner too but it's more fun at breakfast time ;)) I don't recall them having breakfast pizza there. They def. have breakfast pizza at the POP food court so you can always grab it one morning.

Hollywood Brown Derby! Yea!
Even if you only have a few bites it's totally worth it! Is there any chance you and Jen can split it? That's what Marc and I did in June, but we also shared the cobb salad and had dessert....:rotfl:

Favorite breakfast buffet has to be Tusker House, but 1900 Park Fare is so much fun in the morning! I don't think we had breakfast pizza, but I'll agree the strawberry soup is awesome!

I'll be watching the computer as much as the students will allow on Wednesday, and of course I'll be thinking of you!

Thank you. I really appreciate everyone's support, it means a lot to me.

There is NOTHING like a Brown Derby Cobb Salad. Mmmmm. Yes, Cape May I want to try someday too. It's so hard to pick!!

YES :cloud9: I love that about ALL the parks but Epcot is my absolute favorite one to hear the music from. I can't WAIT for that.

Epcot is the park that I think of first for that warm fuzzy too! I just hear the music swell and it's awesome. The entrance loop is on the 4 Parks 1 World CD and I just love to listen to that track! Thanks for the well wishes! It's nice knowing you have so many people behind you! :goodvibes

See, the strawberry soup doesn't really appeal to me. I don't know, something about it just makes me go ehhh.

I don't think I knew that Pop had breakfast pizza! Yayayaya!!!

Maybe she will but I don't think she likes salmon. I'm trying to convert her to a seafood lover. Muhahahaha!

Really? Can you describe the strawberry soup? It's cold right?

Thanks for happy thoughts for my surgery!
