Disney Gives Me the Warm Fuzzies. January 2010 PreTrip Report. Update 11/6 Pg. 79

The trip planning is looking good so far. Shame you couldn't stay at Riverside, but Pop is sounding perfect for this trip.

Glad to hear the weight loss is going well, and continue to hope that your surgery goes smoothly.

Congratulations on the weight loss! I know how difficult it is. 18 lbs is quite an accomplishment!!

I say go for the extra day!! :thumbsup2
Thank you so much. I'm still a bit wishy washy on the extra day. We'll see.
Congrats on the weight loss my dear!!! WAY TO GO!!! Of COURSE you WILL take the extra day......YOU WILL!!!!! (Do you think my powers of persuasion work over message boards too?!?!?!)
:rotfl: I don't know if they will work over the message boards but then again, there is a whole bunch of enabling that happens on these boards.

Congrats on the weight loss! That's fantastic.

Ohh... and take the day!
I'm still thinking about it, I think if we get a good AP rate for sure that I will take it.

Page 4, but I'm here! :goodvibes

Last January was insanely cold!!! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I hope it's not THAT cold for you guys in 2010.

Okay, its ONLY in Disney World that whispering gargoyles can give anyone a warm fuzzy! :scared1: :lmao:

And :woohoo: for Pop! We'll see if you stick there though...;)

:rotfl2: LL, this is a whole new level of Disney Addiction I think...:thumbsup2

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banana::banana::banana:
You know...I've been debating the whole Pop vs. POR thing with Jen. And as much as I want to stay at POR, I think staying at Pop in January will make my November trip even better in regards to money. So I'm really going to try to be good and not switch.
I hope you add the extra day -- I think you owe it to yourself. ;) Also, 6 days sounds so much better than 5 days. It's very close to a week.
I do like the way it sounds, let's all hope for an awesome AP rate! :worship:

I think we are planning an arriving the Sunday of Memorial weekend...
Ahhhh....I see. I highly doubt we'll be there then. I think we are holding out for November.

I do think Pop will serve well for this trip. It will just make me anticipate staying at Riverside even more in the future.

LL, I don't know how I missed it, you started your PTR!!!!!:cool1: Sorry I haven't been around...going back to read now!!! YAY!!:dance3:

I figure I should give you all some details on the November 2010 Trip I mentioned.

This is what I have got so far.

The Cast:

Marc & I!

Yay! I'm very excited to be going back to Disney with Marc. He quite proudly tells any Anti Disney People that our trip together last year was a great trip and that I really surprised him with how many "grownup" things there are to do. He's converted folks!

The Resort:

Any guesses?

Well. I had two resorts in mind but I always feel like I plan EVERYTHING when it comes to our Disney trips. Trust me, I love it but it's Marc's vacation too and I want some input from him.

I gave him my two resort choices and sat him in front of the computer and showed him pictures from both resorts. I told him I'd love to stay at both and I couldn't decide so please tell me your opinion.

The Choices were...

Port Orleans French Quarter

and

Port Orleans Riverside

What did he choose?

Port Orleans Riverside! We plan on doing a rental car this trip since I love the freedom of it so very much so buses will not be a concern. I plan to invest in my own very GPS over the next year and I even have a name picked out for him. Yes, it will be a him.

The cutest thing about why Marc picked Riverside? Because he liked the look of the Mansions! Awww, I knew a married him for good reason! LOL. That is exactly why I am so intrigued about Riverside. He asked if we could be guaranteed a Mansion, I said no but honestly I'm not worried about it. I think Disney has been pretty awesome so far about honoring my room requests. And if not, I'll just see at check-in. We are booked in a standard room.

The Dates:

Friday November 5th - Sunday November 14th.

I expect these dates to change because I have a little give since I'll most likely be taking two weeks of vacation at this time. So if the flights are cheaper on Monday then we could wait to go until then. I want to be 100% sure that we are able to attend a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and it looks like they usually start that week so if I have to play with my dates a bit, I'm okay with that. If we do leave on the 5th, I will work that day and then we'll take a later flight being well rested the next day for our first full day in the parks.

I probably won't talk about the November trip as much as the January trip but as I ponder that trip I'm sure I'll be asking for advice!

Warm Fuzzies.

Jen: Walking down an empty Main Street on a beautiful morning

LL: The Spectromagic Parade Music.

I love this update!! I can't wait to hear all about your celebration trip with Marc!!! I know you guys are going to have a great time!

POR is an amazing resort!! Great pick Marc!!!! You guys are going to love it!! And well you know how I feel about rental cars at Disney...you totally can't go wrong!!!

Awww Spectro...that is definitely a warm fuzzy!!! I love that parade!!

Two trips in one PTR! I love it!! I get all confuzzled on the PORs but would love to stay in either. Which one used to be Dixie Landings and has the dragon at the pool? Is that French Quarter maybe?

Good job on converting Marc. When I find a candidate I'll ask you for conversion tips. ;)

I think you'll love the Christmas party. So cool to see it snow on Main St. and the holiday decorations are not to be missed!

LL:

I Have missed So Muchin the last week. I knew you booked another trip, and I figured you would be starting at PTR, but I didn't know you had Two Tripsplanned. That is sooooo exciting. :woohoo:

I am so glad you are going back with Jen. You guys are the perfect duo, (although neither one of you is very prompt at finishing your TR's.....:rotfl:hint...hint!)

So you are thinking of the 80's section at POP. That's exactly where I am hoping to stay this September (and not because I was born in the 80's, cause God knows I wasn't.). I just wanted to be off in a quiet area near the Computer pool and near the parking lot. So, I am hoping that you will get some pictures of the 80's section at POP so I can see it.

Anyway.......congratulations on the weight loss and I am still thinking good thoughts for you everyday for your upcoming surgery. I still know you are going to do great! and I am super excited for another LL PTR, because they are the best. I am just days away from finishing my TR for good and now I will have a new place to hang out!

I really can't wait for this trip with Marc...even though it's a year away. At that point, it will have been TWO years since we went to Disney together. Way too long in my opinion. But I know that we will both be nicely recovered from our surgeries and super ready to take on Disney again.

I have no idea which one use to be Dixie Landings. I get confused about past Disney history, especially in regards to Dixie Landings and such.

I will be more than happy to aid you in converting any future suitors.

I can't wait for the Christmas Party. I love the Christmas spirit and get really into decorations and such at home so I can't even imagine how much I'll love MVMCP! :santa:

MEK! I just want you to know that I am still reading your TR, I just haven't been commenting much. I am so busy with everything I have to do to get ready for surgery and then work. I'll be better I promise!

I think Jen and I travel very well together and I think this trip will go even smoother than before because we know how we travel together. :thumbsup2

Thanks for saying so many nice things about my PTRs!

You will love Riverside. We stayed there several times before we started staying at Pop, and it's a really beautiful resort. Even if you don't get the mansions, the other rooms are really nice and cute. :goodvibes

ETA: Spectro music is definitely one of my warm fuzzies. I love listening to the music in my car.

I really can't wait for this trip with Marc...even though it's a year away.

I am so happy that you guys are getting to do another together trip. It's a lot of fun with friends, no doubt, but it's so awesome with the ones you truly love the most.

Continued congratulations on the weight loss. With my knee issue, my walking has stopped and the weight is piling on. :sad2:

Ah, your planned arrival date for the November trip is my birthday, so it is destined to be a wonderful trip!

Hurray for Marc choosing Riverside -- I think you will just love it!

LOL...I got the hint!! I do need to work on my TR...I've been busying updating my PTR...but I will try to finish up the TR before I return to work this weekend LOL!!!!!:thumbsup2

Cool another trip! I'm so far behind on reading the TRs that I'm subscribed to that It'll take me forever to catch up, but I will!:rolleyes:That's so great about the weight loss, I really should start watching what I eat and exercise more....:rolleyes1
I'm planning another trip in May 2010 for Brittany's graduation. When asked where she wanted to go for a graduation trip she said Disney! It makes a mother proud...:lmao:

You have to love a man in a fez...:goodvibes...Seriously I'm thinking Eric needs a fez-they sell those in Morocco?

Port Orleans Riverside is so pretty! (We stayed in Port Orleans years ago-but I'd stay at Riverside if we went back there...very atmospheric, romantic-really...

plus you can take the boat to DTD-which is a rather nice option and I think if you were interested they even do carriage rides there...

You are going to have the best time...:cloud9:

Btw-I can't get enough of the Disney warm fuzzies....popcorn::

Yay for Riverside! Glad to hear it's looking like you'll finally get there. Hopefully you'll get into the mansions. I know we've stayed there a bunch and have never gotten into the Bayou section. I've heard that a lot of the Bayou rooms are set up for larger families and have trundle beds so they can sleep more than 4. We had friends who use to stay there with a large family and they always wondered why they never got to stay in the mansions.

I really love the Mansions at Riverside as well. I can definitely see why Marc would want to stay there! Plus, at either of those resorts, you can enjoy the benefit of the other, so that's a great plus. That and the boat to Downtown makes it so nice! :goodvibes

I love hearing about both trips. How exciting!

I'm glad you've got a trip in the works with Marc. What a nice thing to look forward to.:goodvibes And POR looks just beautiful.:cloud9:

]I have no idea which one use to be Dixie Landings. I get confused about past Disney history, especially in regards to Dixie Landings and such.

Riverside used to be Dixie Landings, French Quarter was originally the only place known as Port Orleans. My first stay there was back in 1992, and I was crushed that I didn't get into Dixie Landings because I was on a complete Gone with the Wind kick. I so wanted to stay there in one of those mansion rooms. I haven't made it back there yet, because now I don't want to give up POFQ. :rotfl:

Your going to just love it there!

I love listening to Spectro in my car too. There is just something about that parade music more so than other parade music that just gives me the Disney Warm Fuzzies.

The other rooms do look cute too. I'm really not too worried, I figure the chances we stay in the Mansions is pretty darn good and if not Alligator Bayou rooms don't seem bad either!

I completely agree, I had lots of moments in May where I missed Marc. But it's also nice to have the friend time too. A nice balance if you will.

I'm so sorry about your knee. I read on your TR that they want you to have surgery, I'm glad that you can wait until after your girls trip in October.

Ah, your planned arrival date for the November trip is my birthday, so it is destined to be a wonderful trip!

Hurray for Marc choosing Riverside -- I think you will just love it!
:lmao: Excellent, we'll have good trip juju if our arrival day is your Birthday.

I was hoping he would choose Riverside but you never know with men. I want to stay at both eventually and was having serious issues picking which one to start with. :rolleyes1

LOL...I got the hint!! I do need to work on my TR...I've been busying updating my PTR...but I will try to finish up the TR before I return to work this weekend LOL!!!!!:thumbsup2
I've been horrible with my TR but updating a PTR doesn't take me as much brain power as a TR update. I don't know what that says about me but there it is. :rolleyes1

Cool another trip! I'm so far behind on reading the TRs that I'm subscribed to that It'll take me forever to catch up, but I will!:rolleyes:That's so great about the weight loss, I really should start watching what I eat and exercise more....:rolleyes1

Hey You! It's so nice to see you around again. Well of course she said Disney!

Yes, they sell those in Morocco. Maybe I'll bring one home for Marc in January that would be a ncie souvenir for him. Hehe. I love the romantic atmospheres! I really can't wait for this trip with Marc.

Yay for Riverside! Glad to hear it's looking like you'll finally get there. Hopefully you'll get into the mansions. I know we've stayed there a bunch and have never gotten into the Bayou section. I have heard that couples and groups that don't need the trundle beds usually get to stay in the mansions so let's hope that stays true for Marc and I. I'm really looking forward to seeing Riverside.

I really love the Mansions at Riverside as well. I can definitely see why Marc would want to stay there! Plus, at either of those resorts, you can enjoy the benefit of the other, so that's a great plus. That and the boat to Downtown makes it so nice! :goodvibes

Yes, it is a great way to see both resorts. Marc said the alligators at POFQ freak him out so that was another reason he went with Riverside.

I'm glad you've got a trip in the works with Marc. What a nice thing to look forward to.:goodvibes And POR looks just beautiful.:cloud9:
Yes, it's a nice thing to start planning for the two of us since we loved our trip so much last year.

Thanks for clearing that up for me! You'll have to stay at Riverside here soon so you can experience the Mansions!
