Disney Gift Cards?

Does anyone know where you can use these at WDW? The Disney Store web site says: At select locations. Not very clear. Or, can you tell me if you can use them to buy Disney Dollars at the Disney store?
I want to use the FreeRide Visa to buy some online, but only if I can use them for something worthwhile.

I emailed the Disney Store site and they said that is all the information they have! Not very helpful. lol

Make sure you buy the disney gift cards that one you are able to use in the parks kinda like disney dollars go there to see where it is and isn't accepted http://disney.go.com/disneygiftcard/use.html it also says you can't use it to purchase disney dollars but you might get a CM to waive that I never tried. It looks like it can be used at all restaurants that accept credit cards.

That is what I'm going to be using my freeride visa account to buy!

Does anyone know if:

1) does Disneyshopping.com charge shipping if all you order is a gift card?

2) can you use a webcertificate to buy a gift card at disneyshopping.com? I've never done a webcertificate before, so I'm not exactly sure how they work - sorry!

3) can you go through MyPoints to buy said gift card using said webbie and earn more points?

I hope the answer to 1 & 2 are yes! If so, then I can get the new card and use it as part of my food budget on a short solo Dec trip I am trying to finance. Well, I hope #3 is yes, too, but if it's not, I'll get over it.

I know for sure that there is no shipping charge (because I just ordered $1500 worth of these!!). On number 2, I am not help. As to number 3, that is interesting. Most rewards programs do not pay out for gift card purchases because the merchants do not pay commissions on them. On the first $350 that I bought, Disney did pay out a commission. But then they have not on the subsequent $1000+. I think they may have caught on and stopped. But I am crossing my fingers that they do not!

FYI in regards to where they can be used at WDW. I contacted customer service about a month ago and received this message back on June 7th:

Dear MeLike2Travel,

We apologize for the delay responding to your latest message. We requested that
our contacts at
Walt Disney World provide us with information regarding which restaurants at
Downtown Disney
currently accept the Disney Gift Card. Please note that these locations are
subject to change
without notice.

Planet Hollywood
Bongo's Cuban Cafe
Earl of Sandwich
House of Blues - Restaurant and Retail only
Rainforest Cafe - Retail Only
Raglan Road
Wolfgang Puck Express - Marketplace
Cheesecake Factory - Hours the same as Disney Quest Operating Hours
Wolfgang Puck Cafe - West Side
Portobello Yacht Club
Fulton's Crab House

As stated previously, please check with each of these locations prior to dining
to verify that they
continue to accept the Disney Gift Card.

Does anyone have any new personal experience with these cards, such as where they were and were not accepted? I'm particularly interested to see when the resorts will start accepting them to pay for hotel rooms.

I was there July 5-8 and the hotel front desks still could not take them, including to buy tickets. We were able to use them in the restaurants and at the BBB in World of Disney downtown.
