I was just wondering if you can use a disney store gift card anywhere in disneyland.. WE will be going next month and my daughter has a $100.00 gift card I was hoping she could save and use there..

You can use it pretty much anywhere. Just can't use it on the carts that sell stuff like Churros and stuff. I could be wrong on that though. I bought a $100 gift card for myself because I liked the card. I have used it all over.

it should say on the back of the card itself. as long as it was purchased within the past couple of years, it should be okay. the current gift card (it features mickey with his ears extending from the card) is universal and is good at The Disney Store, Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines and DisneyShopping.com

although i guess there's an alternate holiday design too now.

it's also worth noting that disneyland (only) sells gift cards in a variety of designs, all universal.

the gift cards cannot be used in downtown disney, but disney dollars can. I tried both at libby lue, and tortilla joe's and they took the dollars but not the card.

I just this minute came from my local Disney Store where I purchased Disney Dollars. My store carries them in one's, five's and ten's. I buy a few every payday as a way to save for my trip. They also make great gifts for kids.

just remember that the gift card can be replaced if lost, but the disney dollars cannot be

Do you guys know if I can use disney dollars or a disney GC at World of Disney in DTD?

both should be accepted there. the only real grey area is at places outside the parks not owned by disney. it probably has to do with the processor being able to handle the disney gift card.

world of disney took our card and dollars, according to libby lu and tortilla joe's employees, all dtd takes dollars,but only world takes cards. not sure why. we did a combo of both for our trip. used the dollars on carts in the park and to get bean and cheese soft tacos at tortilla joe's (yuummm)

it has to do with the credit card processor. the gift cards, like most others anywhere these days are handled by the processor so it acts more like a debit card now.

i just read the restrictions at DLR and it's interesting - the resorts can't take them yet. WDW had that same issue when they first started with gift cards but eventually were able to.
