Disney Gift Card Deals

Got my second order of $200 Wgc's from last week promo, today, and tonight went to the W's I was successful at Sunday. Went great again, no problem buying loadable Disney gc. It was interesting, the guy remembered me from over a month ago when I asked about using Wgc's . He and his manager didn't know but thought probably would work since it didn't say on the back that it couldn't be done, like the other cards they have that are instore merchandise credit and specifically say no gc - gc purchase. He thought it was cool that it worked. Me too, lol!

..... I'm well over the $2K/60 limit, but for some reason it allowed my order this morning to go through, so I will try to do it again with something else shortly.
That's interesting that you are over the limit, but still were able to put more thru. I'd be interested to hear if you are able to put anymore thru, so hope you'll come back and share! After reading this, tomorrow I'm gonna try just in case, and see if I get lucky! Probably not, but might as well try I suppose.

Hi,
Just got back from a great trip to Disneyland... So many new things -- we hadn't been there in 10 years! :) World of Color, Frozen Show, Ariel's Grotto, Hyperspace Mtn, Carsland, just so much to see, we had 3 days and could have stayed forever!
So what's this about Gamestop? Are they not doing GC-GC any more?
....

Glad you had such a great trip! It's so fun there, isn't it? I loved the parks being so close and the DTD right there so close, too! WDW vets, we took our first trip there in May and can't wait to go back!

Yeah, GS is closed up pretty good, not sure if anyone still able to convert to ebay gc's anywhere. I had taken a chance, bought $1000 since my GS confirmed they were still good. I went to convert and they just got an email that day and they couldn't do anything! No ebay, visa, gas cards. I was stuck with $1000 in GS, trying to figure which way to get at least most of it back. I figured I'd lose about 15%. Then, the awesome poster, Jkalai, posted some very timely info about trading particular GS games that were on sale, thru BB who was offering $25 for particular titles. I visited about 3 GS's, and with 3 of us doing the actual trading, over the week, I bought 41 mostly preowned, some new, games at sale prices that were about $19-$25, using a power up card to save 10%. Those games are more than double this week at regular price. So, by week's end, I had paid $1000 in the GS gc's, plus another $13 oop, traded them thru BB for $25 each, and I ended up with $1025 in BB gc's! I'm still amazed from when Jkalai posted the info, it was perfect, and wouldn't have worked without the exact timing beginning to end. Saved my butt for sure, and it was even sorta fun! But, definitely glad it's over now, lol! Really stinks that we lost that avenue though, I'm doing Wgc's now and BB when I can.

I got the 8% offer today (yay) after getting the 10% last week. I'm at 2K for the next 52 days. No offers on my other account. Also, I bit on the Sears deal and got $200. It was my first experience with PPDG and I didn't want to push it. I've been very reluctant to use PPDG since I my account was locked before. This time I had to text verify twice, and the order went through. I've never churned through Kmart. The two closest to me recently closed, but there are a few others in my area I can get within the month. I suppose if the churn doesn't work, I can always use $200 on something at Sears.

Sears doesn't allow GC to GC transactions, correct?

I have repeatedly had success at Sears. Last time was about 10 days ago. I think some members posted getting turned away, but I've always slid my card and they've been accepted. I go to the same cashier, if she is there in the men's department. We talk about my upcoming trip. I explain how combining the gift cards is safer than cash, due to being able to transfer balances if a card is lost, etc.

I will say that I've only used physical cards. Today, I'm going in with $400 in eGC's from the PPDG promotion. I will report back my results

I got the 8% promo yesterday, but I was at work all day. This morning, I used the $200 eBay cards that I have on hand and bought $200 in BB from PPDG without a hitch...didn't even need the security verification:flower3:. I have errands to run today and I will be out by BB so I will take the $200 I just bought and add it to the $200 I already have and buy a $400 eBay card. When I get done with that, I will come back home with my $400 ebay card and use it to buy $400 in Walgreen's.

Quick question...if I use my extra $10 gift card to cover the $7.96 shipping, do I need to add the $7.96 to my running gift card total, pushing me closer to the $2K limit? Or is it only the cost of the actual items that counts towards the limit?

Yes you'll need to add that to the total. It's gift cards used.

Shipping counts.

About to order on ebay, but it seems my ebucks will not show the correct amount. I've had this happen before, but once I got into checkout it updated correctly. This time around, it's only showing 2%. Anyone else had this happen. I'm just afraid to place the order because at just 2% I make $0.01 on each WG card -that's not worth it.

Has anyone successfully paid for a GC with a GC and gotten the RedCard discount in the last couple of days? Just want to be sure it's still working.

Do you really think they are losing money on you? I highly doubt they make money from people who only buy using gift cards they bought at a discount, and only buy when they have the ebay bonus bucks.

They make 10% when they sell anything, minus whatever eBay bucks they give out minus the cost of doing business. They don't know and aren't affected by the fact that my gift cards are bought at a discount. How could the fact that I bought Best Buy cards at Kroger for 14% off and flipped them to eBay effect the profit that eBay is making from the sales?

And I bought all the time, no matter the eBay bucks amounts since I was running so much through. It was actually better for me to run through when there was no promotion because I'd still get my 1.1% from TCB, and I'd always hit my $500 eBay bucks cap on all my accounts (so I made more from TCB if I ran more through eBay). I have a property management company and a farm so I bought a LOT from eBay, but not now!

If you know something I don't, do tell.

Topcashback...thoughts? I have rarely used them in the past, and just gave it a shot b/c they offered a $10 rebate on a $10 purchase.... I am wondering if it will go through- I bought a gc at Bj's warehouse, and site says no actual cashback on gc's...but nothing in the terms of the email stated about gc for the $10 purchase deal...it's tracking as $0 earned after a couple of days- thoughts? what is this site like?

THis happens all the time to me. The auction will show the regular ebucks amount without a bonus. As long as you activate the bonus from your ebay home page, you should be fine.

I used topcashback a lot last year, because I was getting my Target cards from Raise. Not only did they pay, they have a deal that you can get your rebate in the form of an Amazon gc for 3% more than what you earned. I used that for my trip to Disneyland last year when I had Prime Pantry deliver to the hotel. They have a similar deal with Amex.

If BJ's has that exclusion, you might want to try using them for another purchase and see if you get the rebate.

Do you buy Disney Gcs at sears?

Sorry to hear that @PerfessorZ. What are they saying? I'm still having great success with Kmart.

That you "can't buy a gift card with a gift card". At least 2 of the 3 stores have notes taped by all the registers not to not allow gift card purchases with gift cards or debit cards. I have managed a couple purchases by getting lucky with who was checking me out, but on my last visit, I went to a check out line of somebody I knew had let me purchase before & they deferred to a senior employee (perhaps a supervisor?) that basically said cash only.

For what it's worth, the registers still allow it - I just can't find employees that will let it happen.

Because the only way Kroger would sell you gift cards at all is if they were making money. Ebay sells Kroger those gift cards at a discount. If I had to guess, probably in the 5-7% range. Generally, ebay still makes money on this because their markup is usually 10%. So they still come out ahead. But during a 5x promotion, they are giving away that 10% markup. Consequently, they're selling at a loss.

So why allow gift cards at all during ebay bucks promotions? I'd say ebay uses the promotions as loss leaders. I think this is also evidenced by the fact they have caps on the amounts of gift cards you can use in a certain period - just like grocery stores that limit purchases on items that are crazy cheap. They lose a little on that one item, but they make it back by hoping you make more purchases in their store at their standard markups.

I assume I can't use an ebay gc to purchase an ebay gift card.... can I? Can't possibly be that easy but thought I'd ask.

Do you buy Disney Gcs at sears?

Yes. They have $25 and $50 cards at mine. I believe mine has eBay, and I am really tempted to turn into eBay again, and get one more purchase at 8% Ebucks, but I leave next Wednesday. So, I will get Disney. I don't want to get caught w/ eBay if PPDG declines one more purchase. If I get stuck w/ Sears, I will buy a portion of this week's groceries at Kmart, and move that cash to the vacation fund.
