Following on @CMNJ's post, Amex also has an offer for a one-time $80 statement credit when you use your card to make a purchase of $500 or more for a prepaid hotel booking through AmexTravel .com by 9/30/16.

There are several Disney resorts listed on the site and while keeping close to $500 to get the maximum discount (16%) might buy you only one night or two, and there are other methods to get you potentially better savings, it might work for some people so I'll just put this out there.

I don't know, I just compared the All Star Movies for 2 weeks from now (which is the only All Star hotel AmexTravel had listed) and amex only had preferred rooms at $114 while the Disney site and Orbitz have a standard room at $98 so you are already paying $16 more per room. Plus Orbitz seems to have 15% off coupons that work on Disney hotels (I have gotten these coupons 3 or 4 times in the last month) so that would be a lot cheaper than AmexTravel.

Definitely not for everybody. I'm weighing a night at the Disneyland Hotel and Orbitz's coupon will save me about $75, but Amex will save me $80. But then I could also get something like 2.5% cash back from Ebates through Orbitz and Orbitz cash, whereas I could get membership points from Amex. Or I could just pay for the room all from GCs using the various methods discussed in this thread.

It's 2/$1 currently so it should be 4/$1 (1.6%).

Blah....still can't purchase anything through PPDG. I don't get it. I have purchased through them before for birthday and Christmas gifts.

Not sure if anyone else has had an issue at BJ's but two of my local stores are now limiting the purchase of Disney GC's. 3 is the max number allowed to be purchased per transaction and it doesn't matter how you pay ie; cash, debit, credit or GC. I questioned the manager and he said corporate put the limit because of too many fraudulent transactions and there's no way to override because the registers are now programmed to only accept 3 per transaction....such a pain!

I apologize for the late reply, I was playing catch-up on this thread all week.

I went to BJs on Saturday and bought 4 GCs ($50 each) and didn't have any issues at the POS. Granted, I always do self-checkout so I have little interaction with the employees. I plan to do a few more purchases before the end of the month when my Amex deal expires, so I will keep you posted.

Not sure if this is your issue or not. My target has a glitch where it sometimes double counts a gift card. E.g., a gift card for $50 will show up twice and they will think you've actually applied 2x$50 gift cards. So sometimes it'll think you are done paying because it'll double count the payment. I just delete the duplicate.

I found this to be the case as well. I got around it by creating an account and then first adding the GCs to my account before checkout. From there, the "saved" GCs apply correctly. Hope this helps!

Okay. Issue at two walgreens, both I've been successful at previously. My gift cards rang up "tender not recognized". The real kicker is, I added on a side item and it wouldn't even pay for that!

They're the red cards, I ordered them from SVM and I've called the number on the back and confirmed the balances.

So, what gives? Walgreens POS having issues today or are the cards somehow defective? Do I try again tomorrow? Anyone else having issues?

I got the 8% offer today (yay) after getting the 10% last week. I'm at 2K for the next 52 days. No offers on my other account. Also, I bit on the Sears deal and got $200. It was my first experience with PPDG and I didn't want to push it. I've been very reluctant to use PPDG since I my account was locked before. This time I had to text verify twice, and the order went through. I've never churned through Kmart. The two closest to me recently closed, but there are a few others in my area I can get within the month. I suppose if the churn doesn't work, I can always use $200 on something at Sears.

Sears doesn't allow GC to GC transactions, correct?

I flipped $300 through Walgreens today around 330 pm with the red gift cards from SVM. I loaded the 300 on to one of the $25-$500 cards. No problems at all.

That is frustrating. Maybe try again tomorrow or call SVC about it. Hope it all works out. I have a lot of WG cards coming tomorrow and next week. I hope they are all okay.

My WG card came in the mail today, just in time to take advantage of this promo. Hubby and I ran by there after a stop at Walmart this evening around 7 pm. This was my first attempt at Walgreen's so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, but everything worked out just fine. Only ordered a $100 during the last promo to test the waters. Went to the register and told the cashier I wanted to load $100 onto the ebay card. He said "Sure" and rang me up. I slid my gc and noticed nothing happened. I slid it a second time and again, nothing happened. I looked up at him and tried not to panic. LOL. He says "Well, since you are paying for this with a credit or debit card I need to see your ID please." So I flipped my gc over and he says "Oh, ok, you're paying with a gift card. No problem then, but you are sliding the card the wrong way."

I had to laugh at myself right there at the register. In my haste to just slide the card without drawing unwanted attention I had the card backwards. I slid the card again and it went through immediately. He thanked me, I thanked him, and we were on our way out. It was a very easy transactions and he almost seemed as if this way nothing out of the norm. Had it not been for me trying to swiftly slide my card, it all would have just went through as smooth as silk. I suppose I am so used to doing all of my churning online and face to face transactions just intimidate me a bit. When we got to the car my hubby reminded me, had the cashier not accepted the gc we would have just politely told him to cancel the transaction and left. I need to just get used to this new way of doing things since this is my only route as of now.

Yuck, sorry to hear that. I'm trying my hand at Kmart tomorrow--my first try there using the $88 Sears card from Ebay.

I had to verify my account twice also. I have one Kmart near me and I'd be shocked if it doesn't close soon. It's such a forlorn place and the parking lot is a free-for-all as the lines wore off years ago and they never repainted.

Just got back from a great trip to Disneyland... So many new things -- we hadn't been there in 10 years! World of Color, Frozen Show, Ariel's Grotto, Hyperspace Mtn, Carsland, just so much to see, we had 3 days and could have stayed forever!

So what's this about Gamestop? Are they not doing GC-GC any more?

I see there's a new limit on Ebay GC payments, $2k in 60 days... that doesn't seem that bad, provided there is something worthwhile to exchange.

Sounds like you had an awesome trip! Hoping to visit DLR in the next year or two also. We only had one short trip there back in 2007. There is so much new to see!

Yeah, bummer, no more eBay churning through GS. BB still seems to work for most and Walgreens is YMMV.

I am not too bothered by the 2k limit on eBay cause I am not churning near as much anymore.
