Disney Gift Card Deals

Unfortunately, there aren't too many Walgreens in out neck of the woods.
We can go barely a few blocks without tripping over a Walgreens here. :tilt: We are inundated with drug stores. The intersection I go through to get to work (I live one mile from the church where I work) has three, count them three drugstores plus the pharmacies in the grocery stores. Basically within a few steps of each other we have Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS, Safeway, and Bel Air.

Ebates is telling me that my Big Fat Check has been sent to my PayPal!
I had mine sent via mail to my house. Not sure if I will add it to my main churn or just buy target for disney (I guess that's a mini-churn?) I have been using swagbucks this quarter instead of ebates; it will be interesting to see how things turn out.

I switched mine from PayPal to mail when we started getting more reports about PayPal limiting and closing accounts. I didn't want to take the chance on not being able to access my funds. At the time we were cashing out completely from eBay, but since decided to continue on a smaller scale with Walgreens. Haven't really looked into swagbucks yet, but I may have to do that.

Just got back from Walgreen's...used a $100 GC without any issues to buy a $100 eBay card. I was looking for BB, but they don't have them. I now have $100 in eBay (that I am going to use for $100 in BB today yet) and $400 in Walgreen's that I just ordered today. I have $250 left until I hit my $2K/60 limit, but $250 more will open up on the 28th.

I used topcashback a lot last year, because I was getting my Target cards from Raise. Not only did they pay, they have a deal that you can get your rebate in the form of an Amazon gc for 3% more than what you earned. I used that for my trip to Disneyland last year when I had Prime Pantry deliver to the hotel. They have a similar deal with Amex.

If BJ's has that exclusion, you might want to try using them for another purchase and see if you get the rebate.
Thanks.... I'm hoping it's my impatience, and not the wrong purchase that is the problem... Glad to know they're reputable! I don't want to spend more $ to see if I got it right,KWIM? (at least not right now)

I decided to get back into the churning game with a just a small amount.

Bought $200 Ebay at Kroger for 4x fuel points, then bought $200 in BB from PPDG. Shocker of shockers, it went through without nary a verification. Went to BB and got a $200 Ebay (there were only 2 in the store and both were variable load), and just flipped those back to BB with about 4-verification loops. That makes $4 in Ebates (if it comes through) and $32 in Ebucks, plus cash back and gas savings.

I could go back to BB for round three, but hubs just got some premium Rum in, and that seems like the better way to enjoy the evening.

I am kind of kicking myself for not trying it out last week for the 5x, but my week would not have allowed the BB trip, so that's life. A $200 roll seems to be the comfortable number for PPDG, so I think that is where I am going to stay for at least the rest of the quarter on 4-5x only.

Has anyone had any luck in the Chattanooga, TN area purchasing a Disney gift card with a Walgreens gift card?

Someone was asking about southern California Walgreens that are allowing purchases of gift cards with gift cards.

The Upland location is but they are 30 minutes to an hour from Disneyland.

I'm in Knoxville and have had no trouble churning from Walgreens GC to eBay. I know it's not Chattanooga but maybe same region?

I'm in Nashville with no problems at multiple locations.

I did the same with Kroger-BB to start back this quarter. I did get $1000 cash to go through PPDG but I'm scared to attempt over $200 in gc payment there. I have one PP account that normally has little to no issue with PPDG. I'm really feeling the issue with PPDG is an account rather than amount or payment type - like once your flagged it never goes away really. I want to say I tried $300 without issue before but I distinctly remember having difficulties with a $500 BB purchase with gc. I also like being able to churn more than once on these. It's nice to be able to make the double ebucks without having as much up front cash in. Walgreens is always my second churn though bc I hate to irritate the PPDG popo.
Oh and don't forget shopkick as their Best Buy kicks add up very fast!!!! I'm already up to a $20 target gc in just 2 months with using it maybe moderately.

OK, you talked me into it. I'm downloading the shopkick app as soon as I get everyone out of the house, since I bought something on Best Buy's ebay page yesterday, and I'm picking it up today.
M+ is easy, but you need to be near enough places that have check ins to make it useful. Swagbucks is very timeconsuming, so I don't make my goal often. Maybe shopkick will be the better app for me.

Do you have luck with the Best Buy around you? I tried once to run BB through they did it but said they won't anymore. Can only buy restaurant gift cards. Reason I ask is in close to you

I haven't tried M+ but I may look into it. Swag bucks I have a hard time getting to. Maybe once a week I can sit down and actually do anything on it which isn't a fast earner for me. Shopkick is similar that you have to be close to get "walk in" kicks. I scan whenever possible. The BB 2/$1 spent scan is great though when churning. I also turn it on while I walk around the mall whenever shopping and get a couple hundred kicks off that. I'm lucky to have a couple concentration of stores that are part of shopkick where I frequent. I'm not sure how BB works via online or if it does but purchasing in store or flipping GCs it works great.

Shopkicks only get credited if you pay in the store. It has to be scanned before your payment is processed. I use shopkicks at BB when getting gc and when I enter stores but don't do the scans in the stores. I find it to be a really slow earner.

They have videos you can run on their website for points too. I also have some apps that I get points from by clicking on a couple things in them each day. I make way more on M+ than I do shopkicks. They all add up over time so I still do both though.

Just logged into my American express and saw an offer for a $25 credit when you spend $25 on hulu. That had to be your method of payment by 10/4 then runs until February. Can't really churn to Disney with it,but if hulu is something you already have you can allocate those funds to something else.

Because the only way Kroger would sell you gift cards at all is if they were making money. Ebay sells Kroger those gift cards at a discount. If I had to guess, probably in the 5-7% range. Generally, ebay still makes money on this because their markup is usually 10%. So they still come out ahead. But during a 5x promotion, they are giving away that 10% markup. Consequently, they're selling at a loss.

So why allow gift cards at all during ebay bucks promotions? I'd say ebay uses the promotions as loss leaders. I think this is also evidenced by the fact they have caps on the amounts of gift cards you can use in a certain period - just like grocery stores that limit purchases on items that are crazy cheap. They lose a little on that one item, but they make it back by hoping you make more purchases in their store at their standard markups.

I don't buy eBay gift cards at Kroger. And I really don't believe that they are selling them that cheap to Kroger in the first place. Is that just speculation or do you actually know that?
The math just doesn't work out for eBay to be losing money. And as I stated, I buy more during non-promos than I do during promos.

They sell them at a discount in part because generally some portion is likely to go unused. I have no idea what the % is but 5% back to the retailer who sells the card seems reasonable to me.

I haven't bought gift cards from ebay for a while and tried to purchase BB gift cards last night with ebay cards to take advantage of the promo. I totally forgot about the 2K limit  and already hit it these past 60 days.

Oh well.
