When buying Target cards from Gift Card Mall on eBay, it is most cost efficient to buy the least number of the same denomination cards. GCM sells Target cards in $50/100/150 denominations. For example, for ~$1000, you should buy either 6x150 ($900) or 7x150 ($1050), rather than 10x100 ($1000) or 6x150 + 1x100 ($1000).

The reason is you need to think about minimizing your shipping costs, which eats into your profit. GCM charges $2.99 shipping for the first card of any denomination and $0.99 for each additional card of the same denomination.

So for the above examples, shipping charges would be $7.94 for 6x150, $8.93 for 7x150, $11.90 for 10x100, and $10.93 for 6x150 + 1x100. When spending Target cards, it's also to your benefit to have higher denomination cards because Target limits the number of gift cards per transaction to 4.

@DIS_MERI has been keeping track of when eBay Bucks promos have been offered, which should give you an idea about the frequency, and each promo usually lasts 2 and very rarely 3 days:
However if you are buying during the 5x ebucks I would not buy the 7x150 because you would be leaving $5 in ebucks on the table which would negate the shipping cost savings. Plus the new limit (although not sure if enforced) is 1K use of giftcards per transaction.

Absolutely!

(Confession time. I copied and pasted this from my post this past weekend. I'm sure I mentioned purchases over $1,000 during a 5x eBay Bucks promo in a later post. These same questions come up every few days.)

Interesting looking at the dates for ebucks promos that DIS_MERI has kept track of...the ebucks redemption months were Sept and Jan. Jan only had one promo but it looks like Sept had 4 promos. Maybe we can expect to see something soon??

ETA: wrong on that.

Electronic gift cards, which are typically emailed to you within an hour.

Policies vary from store to store, but generally yes; and there are rumors Gamestop will at some point stop accepting GC-to-GC transactions, so buyer beware.

There's been a lot of discussion about Gamestop just yesterday and in posts last week. You should really read them when you have the time to get a feel for people's different experiences, the risks and potential rewards.

I've used Gamestop in the past to buy gift cards and never had a problem, but yesterday the sales rep wasn't going to do it and I wasn't going to push the matter because I can use the GC's for tons of other stuff (I have 6 kids) but the manager told her to go ahead and do it. She made a comment to him that she thought they weren't allowing gift cards to buy gift cards anymore but the system allowed it so was fine....this time.

So I think the discussions are right that very soon it won't be allowed and their systems may not allow it.

Pretty sure it was October not September for the last redemption and there were no offers that month.

Oh, you are right... :-( Oh well, I got excited but now I need to go back to debating whether to go ahead and spend or not...I hate to wait an entire month doing nothing.

For those that churn through gamestop. Are you purchasing the physical gift cards or electronic gift cards?

Do the stores accept the electronic gift cards for physical ebay gift cards?

I think most here buy from Paypay Digital Gift Cards, so electronic gc's that arrive in usually less than an hour, which is very nice and no shipping charges. But, I would call the Gamestop(s) you plan to use, and see if they take GS gc's for purchasing Ebay gc's from the rack. I did this last week and it went great, but I'll call again next time right before I buy again just in case things changed. From what I've heard in my store, and read here, most stores have a $1000 per day limit on this purchase. My store person suggested coming back the next day if I wanted to do more. They can load 25 - 500 dollars on a gc, but you can't reload that gc, you just get another one.

yeah I got excited for a sec too!! Lol! This process is quite the roller coaster. I hate the waiting period too.....

I just went to my Gamestop today and asked about buying giftcard with giftcards and he said no. He looked very official and possibly a manager. I may try again with a pimply teen but my gut is this won't last long and probably isn't worth the trouble unless I'm OK with a bunch of Gamestop gifcards. I could probably use them for something but probably won't bother.

I did read them. I just didn't see anyone mention whether they were using physical or electronic gift cards. Thank you though! I have 4-5 game stops near me, so I'm going to call around and see who will accept. I may just buy 500 worth today & then leave it be so that I won't end up stuck with $500 in gamestop gift card, if they change the policy suddenly.

About calling Gamestop. When you ask if you can use a gift card to buy another gift card, why even mention eBay? You don't need to go into so much detail and you risk tipping them off to what you're trying to do (churn).

First rule of Fight Club, people!

Buying 7x150(91.07 net) will get you more cash back than if you bought 6x150(82.06 net). But only if you are going to make 1 order. If you are making multiple, don't go over a $1000.

Whether you mention Ebay or not... there really isn't anyway to call & ask "can I buy a gift card with a gift card" without sounding suspicious :guilty:

Disney Cruise is more like 90 days depending on itinerary.

Do you know how far in advance you have to put DVA on the account to use for spending onboard? That'll be my next churn goal after our October trip, the cruise that was almost Carnival instead of DCL ;)

THIS 100%

Gamestop churn is highly YMMV

If I don't get a PPDG gamestop card, I get them from Kmart, and I literally drive from Kmart to Gamestop to turn it into ebay. I can find a lot more things I need with Kmart/Sears cards than I can with gamestop cards if either pulls the plug on buying giftcards with their giftcards.

Besides Target and Best Buy(?), where else can you get eBay giftcards? I looked at Kmart and Sears and they don't seem to carry them.
My Sears has very little in the way of giftcards. My Kmart has a little card display by the checkouts, and bigger one by hba. Rarely ebay on the checkout display, almost always on the big one. But only $25s :(

Just walk in, grab an ebay gift card, go to register, and then present your GC for payment like you have done it before.

Then hold onto that receipt for the next time a clerk tells you 'we don't do that'. You can show them the receipt that clearly shows they do.

For me when Kroger runs 4x fuel points I get a 14% discount (6% back from my Amex + 8% from free gas). Buy eBay gift cards at Kroger. Go through ebates and buy Target gift cards from eBay when they have 5x eBay bucks. Ebates almost covers shipping and 10% back in eBay bucks. Use those gift cards to buy Disney gift cards from Target with redcard set as default (go through Ebates and through something small in). Deposit those in a DVA. Discount exceeds 30% and maybe less chance of being banned by Target.
Thank you for that information!
