Disney Gift Card Deals

Is anyone else going to use their ebay bucks now rather than later? I'm not sure what to do. In January I used them to buy SW gift cards right away so I could book some flights. After that, I never received another ebay bucks promo on the old account. Nada. So I opened a new account, made my first purchase and a few weeks later I received the promo. I feel like if I spend them again right way then I will be penalized again! I guess I should just sit tight and wait for a promo, but I feel like the extra funds are burning a hole in my pocket!

Yes and no ;) I already used the $43 I had on my original account, I haven't received ANY X% offers on that one and figure I won't, so I went ahead and used them. I signed up for another account last month and received the last 5x promotion, so I have $60 sitting there that I will hold off on to see if I can get another promotion. I also got an e mail on the new account saying I could earn $25 eBay coupon if I sold something by April 14, so I am planning on doing that too!

For me when Kroger runs 4x fuel points I get a 14% discount (6% back from my Amex + 8% from free gas). Buy eBay gift cards at Kroger. Go through ebates and buy Target gift cards from eBay when they have 5x eBay bucks. Ebates almost covers shipping and 10% back in eBay bucks. Use those gift cards to buy Disney gift cards from Target with redcard set as default (go through Ebates and through something small in). Deposit those in a DVA. Discount exceeds 30% and maybe less chance of being banned by Target.

My additions to notes on Kroger, maybe obvious, but thought I'd note any way:
The savings comes later when you get a dollar off per gallon. This is where a good spreadsheet comes in handy. It's not going directly to gift card savings.

The potential savings is actually higher than 14% if you are able to max out the number of gallons allowed (35). That in itself works out to 14%. If you have a credit card that offers cash back, it can be more. Mine is only 1% cash back so I get a 15% return on the offer. Not everyone is able to do this. Say...if you drive a Honda Fit and live in an apartment (no yard to mow). We fill two vehicles with gas then if there's any leftover of our 35 gallons we fill gas cans to take home for mowing or other needs.

Right. I use my gas points the same month so it really is an immediate savings (i.e., I pay $100 for a gift card but my gas costs me $8 less). I gave the 8% figure because my van has a 20 gallon tank.

Hi all, first time poster, but long-time lurker! My question is...has anyone ever had problems with an ebay gift certificate being emailed to them from Target? I ordered around 7 pm last night and this morning the order tracking says the GCs have already been emailed ($100 and $50). However, there is nothing in my inbox anywhere (spam, other folders, anything). Should I be worried, or is this normal? We live at Disney World (go there almost every weekend), but are going to Disneyland next month and I was trying to start a little bit of churning, but this is making me worry LOL! Thanks!

That happened to me once. There's still a way to get your gift card #s...

Visit targetecards .com. Enter the information requested. For zip code, try "00000" if your own zip code doesn't work.

The email should be labeled "An eCard from Target.com"

Keep in mind that the cash out month for Ebucks is not until July as the quarter just ended.

Enjoy Disneyland! Hyperspace Mountain is awesome :)

This worked - thank you SO MUCH! I have checked everywhere in my email, and still nothing has come through, so this information is great!

Yes, thanks for the info - I am super excited about Hyperspace Mountain! We have been there 3 times before, but the last was 3-4 years ago. I was able to get $20 in Ebucks right before this quarter ended, so I am new to this process and starting slow. But we spend money every time we go out to Disney World, so it will be nice to have a little savings here and there!

Quick question, we are planning on our first Disney vacation starting on August 27th. I booked the Fort Wilderness campsite and paid the deposit. I opened a DVA account on 3/9 to put money in after I've churned some gift cards which I will use to pay the remainder on my reservation and for when I add tickets (so I can get the $20 g/c for every $1,000 spent). My receipt from my deposit says I'll owe the remainder on August 27th, but friends are telling me I have to pay the remainder 60 days in advance. I read on MouseSavers, 30 days in advance. Which is it?!

This seems fairly off-topic, so I'll try to answer quickly & suggest you move to a more appropriate part of the forum.

The rules have changed from previous years, and Mousesavers has the most current information. Trust them.

Thanks! I'll re-read the info there just to make sure. I am worried I won't have much time to churn through the gift cards. I may have to redeem my eBucks now instead of waiting for a promo.

Have you booked a vacation or a room only package? You confirmation email from Disney should always be the one you should refer to. I booked a room only reservation when I went to WDW two years ago and I paid the difference upon check in.

I booked a package with tickets, checking in on 8/20. My confirmation email says the balance is due on 7/21... So we'll have April, May and June to churn with us receiving our eBay bucks in July.

Hi guys! I see some of you are using a Disney Vacation Account... I wasn't planning on opening one before I got into the churning. Now that I anticipate having lots of Disney GC's do you guys recommend opening one? Or do you just fly down there with your gift cards in hand and pay at the front desk? Are there any downsides to using a DVA?

It's just a room only for now. I will add the tickets later because I assume I'll have to pay for those when added. I did the online chat with someone at Disney and she said I didn't have to pay when I added them. I tried and it wanted to charge my card now. :crazy2: So I called and the person I talked to said, yes. It will charge my card when I add them. So I'll just add those later when I have the money.
My receipt for my deposit on the room only says it's due upon check-in. I feel much better now. I'll have time to "make" more money thanks to all the tips here! Thanks!

Edited to add: I'm guessing since I didn't book a package the first time and did room only, maybe that's why I'd have to pay now to add on the tickets? I was going to use UT to get the tickets originally until I found the Budget Board. :worship:

Either open a DVA (which has its pluses and minuses) or combine cards on disneygiftcard.com. I'm using a DVA to pay for all of my Disney Cruise. The idea of DVA is excellent but the execution is poor.

Just now trying out the GC churning method. I started out buying Target GC on raise for the last Target 10% promotion and saved about $7 then went through Ebates two separate times to purchase two $200 EBay GC at 10% off through Target saving an additional $8 plus the $20 savings for the promotion. I can not remember but I may have also saved 5% buy using mt red card. Just today I was able to use those EBay GC to purchase 2 of the $200 EBay GC for $195 since I have two EBay accounts. I still have time to wait for the 3x,4x,or5x EBay bucks promotion to purchase Target GC which I can then use to Purchase Disney GC with the Red card method for additional 5%. So if you can follow this you can see that is a substantial savings!!! I can even keep churning but my trip is in May. Got to say I am late in the game and sure wished I caught on to this about 4 to 6 months ago. Wow this is incredible!! I am totally addicted lol!!! Can not thank each and everyone of you enough for your wisdom!!! There is a season churn churn lol!!
I finally found a post that explains how to include eBay in card churning toward saving money on Disney GCs.

But then I went to eBay, and did not find any decent deals on target gift cards - in fact, people were bidding over the cards value! I found a card on Buy It Now for almost the full value of the card, and they were charging $25 for shipping!

So now I have 2 questions
1) do you shop on ebay for the eBucks mostly, and wait for promotions?
2) how do you know that the cards you get will be active and for the amount they say? How do you screen the sellers?

Right now my steps are:
Go to Topcashback dot com
Link to Raise dot com or Cardpool
Buy Target electronic gift cards
Go to Ebates
Link to Target.com
Buy Disney gift cards AND ONE EXTRA ITEM - A different one every time
Use Disney gift cards for Disney Vacation Account.

Since I have so many steps already, adding a few for eBay won't bother me, but not if I am going to pay extra for cards. So what am I overlooking?

Seriously OT for this thread.

You cannot use the DVA at check in. Disney resorts do not take your DVA account number for purchases/payments once you are on the property. You will need to pay for your stay prior to arrival if you want to use the DVA. Also, you need to be aware that the DVA must be OPEN for 120 days before any payments made will applied to the "$1k spend per $20 earned" GC bonus.
