Disney Gift Card Deals

I put $50 in from my Disney Visa, we'll see what happens as far as rewards go.

All,

Thanks for all the tips! I decided to try it out also. I agree that the $20/1000 gift card is an added bonus. Mainly, I like the idea of being able to add the gift cards (from Target when the Pharmacy extra 5% was still working - only wish I bought more) myself. I feel guilty when I call Disney and tell them that I have 20 cards to add. Seems like they should have a way to do it yourself anyway. I will search the boards for more info on this account.

I am VERY curious about the Disney premier Visa deal because we have one also. I would be willing to bet that they don't do the 2% though because it is all Chase. Please post when you see your statement. I did put my $10 to open the account on my premier Visa also today and will post when I get my statement.

Sometimes I find the $5 Target GC deals by walking around the store too. Some are not advertised so now I am on the major lookout. Ours had a $5 GC with the purchase of 1 $5.50 item! I stocked up on those!

I rarely shop at Target and have not yet received the RedCard, so please explain. If I buy an item tied to a $5 Target GC, when do I receive the GC? Is it instant at the register or is it mailed to me? The deals are appealing to me even though I have to drive further to get to a Target store....just not familiar with how it all works. :confused3

The 5.oo gift cards are given at the time of purchase. The screen will signal the clerk to hand you one. You cannot use it for that purchase. However you can use it directly after or at the food court store Starbucks.

As someone stated, you get the $5 GC right then and there. My husband and I went on Sunday and got $20 in $5 GCs. We only buy things we know we will use and we stock up when there is the deal. I try to maximize the sales and use coupons. So far, looking for these $5 GC deals I have gotten close to $100 in Target GCs and all for stuff I use! My running total between using shopkick and my Target GCs from purchases is:

$150 in Disney GC
$10.50 paid out of pocket for GCs
which is a savings of $139.50!

I am waiting for my Swagbucks to come in and I have $20 in Target GCs so I am hoping to buy another $50 Disney GC for $2.50 later this week!

Where do you find the $5 deals? Are they advertised on Target's website?

The target gift card deals are sometimes in the ad. I like to check totallytarget.com for a recap or unadvertised specials.

However, I still like the Costco cash card deal. I book my cruises and name Costco as the TA. That cash card works out to about 8% of the cruise fare - a better deal than the DVA.

What is the Costco cash card? I'm looking at booking a Disney cruise in 2015 or 2016 and this peaked my interest:)

Thanks

I've only read the last few pages of this thread, so I apologize if this question has already been answered. If I have several smaller disney gift cards, is it possible to combine them all onto one card? I'd rather not have to worry about many different cards. Thanks.

If you book your cruise through Costco (or book through DCL and transfer within 30 days), Costco will send you a cash card (like a gift card) a week or two after your cruise ends. The nice thing is that you can take the card to Costco, and they will give you cash for it. It works out to roughly 8% or so of total cruise fare.

Target's website is no longer offering $25 Disney gift cards. Maybe it was only around the holidays. Where else can I buy them? thks

Our Krogers sells $25 & $50 as well as a 3-pack of $15 for $45. They also have one that is a variable load from (I believe) $25-$500 but a caution that the last option does not usually count for Fuel Rewards.

I would also try CVS or Walgreens to spot a $25.

The variable load cards have always worked for me. However, after reading otherwise on here, I did ask for clarification once at Kroger. They told me that its the Visa variable load cards that don't qualify. Merchant variable load cards should earn fuel points just fine. I love these - so much easier than having umteenmillion $50 gift cards!!

I did a variable load two weeks ago at Kroger (I think they're $15-500???) and put $250 on it. Got 4x points. They are great. I hate giving my at a ton of codes for $50 gift cards.

I know it is strange that the markets vary. Others have also had luck with the variable load ones but I have purchased Amazon and Disney ones and both times I got 0 fuel rewards. Always best to check before you buy!

It appears 5% discount for Target Red Card on Disney gift card has officially ended. No explanation was provided by the Target team member other than every store is informed of the new policy. Hopefully everyone had a chance to purchase some before the new policy was in place.

I haven't tried it in the last few days. But, if that's the case, I know a lot of people will be very disappointed.
